Abstract

The low quality and productivity of students' final assignments is a major challenge in higher education. This study aims to develop a collaborative supervision model through a multi-level approach to improve the quality and productivity of student research. The model encourages active collaboration among students, supervisors, and academic staff. Using an explanatory sequential mixed methods design, data were first collected quantitatively via questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), followed by qualitative analysis using thematic analysis with NVIVO software. Bibliometric mapping was also carried out using VOSviewer to identify core concepts. Results show that the collaborative supervision model is valid and feasible according to expert validation. Field trials demonstrate a significant impact on increasing students’ independence, time management, motivation, and supervision effectiveness. This study provides a novel contribution by integrating individual, mentoring, and institutional levels in one comprehensive model, which has not been widely applied in traditional supervision practices. The findings imply that collaborative and structured academic supervision is crucial for developing high-quality student research outputs. The model developed can be a strategic alternative to enhance scientific literacy and academic productivity, especially in the context of science education, including physics education in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Microfinancing has contributed to the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), market expansion, and reduced economic inequality in developing countries. Microfinancing enhances MSMEs' resilience to economic and environmental changes by facilitating the adoption of sustainable technology. Gaps in financial literacy, particularly in financial management, impede MSMEs' access to credit. Limited digital literacy and poor Internet access hinder MSMEs' engagement in the digital economy. This study analyzes how financial literacy and digital platform usage influence microfinance and the development of MSMEs', with religiosity as a moderating factor. Using a quantitative methodology with structural equation modeling and moderating regression analysis, the research sampled 200 MSMEs that obtained loans from formal microfinance institutions, specifically conventional People's Economic Banks (BPR) and Sharia People's Economic Banks (BPRS) in Western Indonesia. The results demonstrate that financial literacy and digital platforms facilitate access to microfinance and the growth of MSMEs, aligning with the theories of Diffusion of Innovations, the Technology Acceptance Model, and the Resource-Based View. The ineffectiveness of microfinance as a mediating variable reveals a disparity between access to financing and productive utilization of funds. The negative moderating effect of religiosity on the relationship between financial literacy and microfinancing indicates the influence of religious values on MSMEs' financial perceptions. These results indicate the need to integrate financial literacy, digital mentoring, and religious-value-based strategies into MSME empowerment programs. Financing institutions must modify their interventions to ensure that financing promotes inclusive MSME growth. This study uniquely examines the moderating role of religiosity and the ineffectiveness of microfinancing as mediating factors in MSME digitalization in developing countries.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of STEM–Project-Based Learning (PjBL) integrated E-Student Worksheets in cultivating character development specifically curiosity and creative thinking among biology education students. Using a quasi-experimental post-test-only control group design, the research involved 50 participants equally divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group engaged with STEM–PjBL-based E-Worksheets, while the control group used conventional worksheets. Statistical analyses, including tests of normality, homogeneity, and independent t-tests, revealed significant differences between the two groups. Students in the experimental class achieved markedly higher levels of curiosity (M = 83.01; p = 0.001) and creative thinking (M = 79.39; p = 0.003) than their counterparts, demonstrating that the integration of STEM and PjBL within digital worksheets not only increases engagement but also fosters deeper character formation by strengthening inquisitiveness, originality, and problem-solving abilities. The study provides evidence that technology-enhanced project-based learning environments can function as catalytic spaces for nurturing essential 21st-century competencies. The novelty of this research lies in its synthesis of STEM, PjBL, and character education within a single digital learning device an integration rarely explored in higher education. By embedding character attributes directly into project workflows, the E-Worksheets move beyond content delivery toward the cultivation of intellectual dispositions. This study contributes a practical framework for designing character-oriented digital learning tools, offering implications for lecturers, curriculum developers, and instructional technologists seeking to promote holistic student development through innovative, technology-supported pedagogical models.

Abstract

Yogyakarta tourism faces challenges in maintaining repeat visits amid fierce competition. Although destination image and quality are recognized as important factors, the mechanisms that drive them toward long-term revisit intention remain poorly understood. A quantitative, survey-based research method was used to collect data from 145 tourists who had visited Yogyakarta at least twice. Purposive sampling was used, and the data were analyzed using PLS-Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the measurement model analysis showed that all indicators used were valid and reliable. Meanwhile, structural model analysis revealed that all proposed direct path hypotheses were statistically significant. In absolute terms, the variable with the most substantial overall influence in the model was DI, primarily because of its strong influence (path coefficient of 0.753) on the RI variable, which is often the primary dependent variable (outcome variable) in models such as this. However, when we examine how much DQ influences other variables, DQ is an important variable that acts as a “generator” or predictor of several other latent variables (DI, DV, and HTE), with significant influence. DI has the most substantial direct influence on the final variable (RI), while DQ has a strong influence on the mediating variables (DI, DV, HTE), which then influence RI. This study suggests that destination managers should focus on strategies that create unique value and build emotional engagement among tourists, rather than solely on improving physical quality and promoting the image.

Abstract

Research on the policy construction and implementation of the Salafiyah Curriculum in Islamic boarding schools is essential for understanding how Islamic educational institutions adapt to modern demands while maintaining traditional values. This study aimed to examine and analyze the policy construction used in implementing the Salafiyah Curriculum at the Sa'adatuddarein Islamic Boarding School. A qualitative approach was employed using participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through three stages, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the policy construction for implementing the Salafiyah Curriculum at Sa'adatuddarein is based on the Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs Number 18 of 2014 Article 1 Paragraphs 1 and 4. This policy supports the school’s vision and mission to develop students who possess strong religious knowledge while remaining adaptive to social and technological changes in the globalization era. The curriculum is implemented by integrating the Salafiyah and Khalafi systems, combining the formal education curriculum with the traditional Islamic boarding school curriculum. This integration forms a holistic educational model where academic and religious activities are interconnected. The study confirms that the integration of curriculum and leadership policies at Sa'adatuddarein represents a strategic adaptation to globalization without neglecting Islamic educational values. The implications suggest that Islamic boarding schools can enhance their relevance and competitiveness by developing policies and curriculum models that balance tradition and modernity. These findings may serve as a reference for other Islamic educational institutions in designing contextual, sustainable, and quality-oriented learning systems in the global era.

Abstract

Background: The orientation and morphology of the sacropelvic can lead to structural changes and disc herniation, resulting in low back pain. Objective: To analyze the relationship between spinopelvic parameters and the degree of lumbosacral intervertebral disc herniation. Methods: This research is a retrospective analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The study included 52 patients with low back pain who underwent lumbosacral radiography and MRI at Saiful Anwar General Hospital in 2022–2023. The degree of disc herniation was assessed on sagittal and axial lumbosacral MRI, and pelvic incidence (PI), sacral slope (SS), pelvic tilt (PT), lumbar lordosis (LL), lumbosacral angle (LSA), sacral table angle (STA), and sacral kyphosis (SK) were measured on lumbosacral radiographs. Statistical tests were conducted on four groups (normal, bulging, protrusion, and extrusion). Results: Lumbosacral disc herniation occurred most frequently in patients aged 51–60 years (30.76%), was more common in females (53.8%), and was most prevalent at levels L4–L5 and L5–S1. Using Spearman’s test, a correlation was found between lumbar lordosis angle and the degree of lumbosacral intervertebral disc herniation, with p=0.011 (p<0.05). One-way ANOVA showed a significant difference in lumbar lordosis across herniation grades, with p=0.028 (p<0.05). A smaller lumbar lordosis angle was associated with a higher risk of lumbosacral intervertebral disc herniation. Conclusion: Lumbar lordosis, as one of the spinopelvic parameters, may be considered a predictive factor for degenerative lumbosacral disc herniation.

Abstract

The research aims to develop, validate, and evaluate Bucomath, a culture-based mathematics comic book integrated with Augmented Reality (AR), designed to provide a contextual, interactive, and culturally relevant learning experience. Using a ADDIE model, the study involved 37 ninth-grade students and collected data through expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, classroom observations, pre–post motivation scales, and structural equation modeling using SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that Bucomath achieved very high validity (83.22%) in both content and design aspects, along with strong practicality ratings from teachers and students (88.22%). The effectiveness analysis revealed a substantial improvement in learning motivation, with an N-Gain score of 0.73 categorized as high, while PLS-SEM results showed that Engagement (R² = 0.64) significantly mediated the influence of Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Enjoyment on Learning Interest (R² = 0.71), with all path coefficients statistically significant (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that the combination of cultural narratives such as Jambi traditional architecture and batik geometry with AR-based 3D visualization successfully transforms abstract mathematical concepts into concrete and emotionally engaging learning experiences. In conclusion, Bucomath demonstrates that integrating local cultural identity with immersive AR technology has strong pedagogical potential to enhance students’ intrinsic motivation, cognitive engagement, and positive attitudes toward mathematics. The implications of this study highlight that culturally responsive AR media can serve as a scalable and inclusive model for future digital learning innovations, supporting not only mathematical understanding but also cultural appreciation and identity-affirming education across diverse learning environments.
