Abstract

This study focuses on training in making aromatherapy candles using used cooking oil waste in Mrican Village, Jenangan District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java. The purpose of this activity is to provide innovative solutions to reduce environmental pollution due to waste disposal of used cooking oil and improve community welfare through entrepreneurship. This training involved PKK mothers from Mrican Village who were taught the process of refining used cooking oil and making aromatherapy candles directly. The implementation method of this activity was carried out by socializing the dangers of used cooking oil waste, practicing making aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil directly, and ending with a question and answer session. The results of this activity were that PKK mothers had knowledge and skills on how to utilize used cooking oil waste so that it can be reprocessed into a product with sales value such as aromatherapy candles. This training succeeded in raising awareness of the importance of recycling and managing household waste, as well as encouraging the creation of environmentally friendly creative businesses.

Abstract

The development of the batik and woven bag business world is increasingly demanding that all business actors be more mature in managing their businesses. Business management plays an important role in the success of increasing income and business sustainability. Batik Talunombo is a pioneer of batik motifs Carica, Purwaceng, and Candi Dieng, which uphold local wisdom. While woven jali bags are a new business with modern bags that use synthetic and economical materials. However, the fact is that the business being run is not well organized. The ability of planning, marketing, HR management, and product innovation is not yet optimal. The impact is that the product is not sold every day. Seeing this, the Implementation Team, through the PPK Ormawa UNSIQ community service activities, carried out business management mentoring activities in Talunombo village, Sapuran District. This community service was carried out by 18 woven jali bags and batik Carica business actors. During the mentoring, the positive and enthusiastic response of the participants who participated reached a 100% attendance percentage. The increase in participant abilities during the training was proven by the ability to work on pretest and posttest questions given in the moderate category. Meanwhile, for its derivative products, innovations have been created for derivative products of batik carica lestari and celosia into the Az Zahra batik carica cluster. Its marketing through Instagram has increased. The impact of this activity is that training participants understand the material on planning, organizing, actualizing, and controlling businesses well, carrying out product innovation, and evaluating products periodically so that the businesses they run can grow, compete, and be sustainable.

Abstract

The partners in this service program are students who have behavioral problems, such as laziness, delinquency, and bullying, which have an impact on their academic performance and social relationships. A total of 37 students exhibited deviant behavior, with 15 students selected for special attention due to the more serious level of the problem. The program aimed to change the students' negative behaviors into more positive ones through cathartic, writing, fun, and reflective approaches. Students are expected to be able to reflect on their actions and increase awareness of the importance of personal responsibility within the school environment. This program is implemented through five stages: preparation, problem handling intervention, writing assistance with the cathartic method of reflective fun writing, preparation of written works in the form of an ISBN book, and a comprehensive evaluation of student development during the program. Training and mentoring were conducted in 15 in-person and online meetings. The program results showed an increase in students' awareness of the impact of their behavior, indicated by significant changes in the aspects of discipline, positive attitudes, and improved reflective writing skills. Students also published inspiring books as a tangible manifestation of empowerment through this program. This program successfully provides an effective solution to address behavioral problems through the cathartic method of reflective fun writing, which not only helps students' behavior change, but also empowers them through written works that benefit themselves and the school environment.

Abstract

The results of the observations carried out show that in the Andalusia residence sharia residential area, Gunung Putri Bogor, plastic waste from used drink bottles around us is increasing. The characteristics of plastic, which are lighter, more practical and easy to manufacture, have led to the large use of plastic. The increasing population in Indonesia also causes more plastic production. The plastic packaging used is then immediately thrown away without processing and becomes plastic waste. As a result of the increasing level of public consumption and other activities, the amount of waste produced is also increasing. Waste/disposal resulting from community activities and consumption is often called domestic waste or rubbish. The problem faced by the Partners of the Andalusia Residence Syariah Residents' Association is piles of plastic bottle waste. The piles of plastic bottle waste have not yet been utilized into something useful and become useful items. This is due to the local community's lack of knowledge in utilizing plastic bottle waste optimally so that it has economic value. One solution to overcome this is to make efforts to recycle waste, so that it is hoped that the volume of plastic waste can be reduced. Another problem faced by partners is the partners' limited knowledge about making handicrafts from plastic bottle waste. Therefore, our team's method of service is by holding training for partners with the theme of making various handicrafts through the use of recycled plastic drink bottle caps. From our team's community service activities we obtain products in the form of tissue holders, pencil boxes, photo frames and flower hangers from caps. bottle.mitra was very enthusiastic during the activity.

Abstract

The learning presented by teachers must be interesting, so that it can arouse students' enthusiasm and interest in learning, therefore teachers need to be equipped to create creative learning activities, including by utilizing IT which is centered on the use of Canva and learning videos via Power Point. Training through PkM activities aims to provide teachers with an understanding of the importance of IT-based learning media, as an effort to improve the process and quality of learning in schools, and how schools cannot avoid facing the era of modernization and the internet. PkM (Community Service) activities are carried out in the form of education and training in making IT-based learning media. The training material delivery method consists of lecture, question and answer, discussion and direct practice in creating IT-based learning media. The training results show that participants' understanding and mastery of the material regarding creating IT-based learning media has increased after attending the training compared to before. Apart from that, training participants already have the skills and ability to create their own learning media, such as making learning videos using Power Point and using the Canva application to create weekly and monthly activity schedules to support the smooth running of various activities at school.

Abstract

Climate change is increasingly impacting public health, including the heightened risk of diseases due to changing weather patterns and air quality. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of health education in enhancing the knowledge of students at MAN 1 Muara Bungo regarding adaptation efforts related to climate change. The sample consists of 50 individuals, including mentors and students actively involved in scout activities. The results indicate a significant increase in students' knowledge after participating in the health education sessions, with the average score rising from 44.463 to 54.33. These findings suggest that health education based on healthy lifestyle practices can be an effective intervention in improving community preparedness, particularly among the youth, to face health challenges posed by climate change.

Abstract

This service aims to find out the impact of socialization of the use of QRIS as a digital transaction to MSME actors in the Muara Bungo market area. The service method used is observation, namely by observing and recording the behavior, attitude, and response of MSME actors to QRIS before and after socialization. The data collected includes the number of transactions, frequency, and value of transactions using QRIS, as well as the level of satisfaction and difficulties of MSME actors in using QRIS. The results of the study show that the socialization of the use of QRIS as a digital transaction has a positive effect on MSME actors in the Muara Bungo market area. This can be seen from the increase in the number of transactions, frequency, and value of transactions using QRIS, as well as the level of satisfaction and reduction in the difficulty of MSME actors in using QRIS. This service provides recommendations for related parties to increase socialization and facilitation of the use of QRIS as a digital transaction to MSME actors in other regions, as well as overcome the obstacles still faced by MSME actors in using QRIS.

Abstract

Literacy and numeracy skills are basic abilities that children really need because they are essentially the basis for learning other sciences. This service aims to improve the basic literacy skills of elementary school students through the Safe Reading, Writing and Counting literacy strengthening program. This activity was carried out at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Bengkulu City involving lower grade students. The methods used include providing material, direct practice, and evaluation. The results of this service show a significant increase in students' reading, writing and numeracy skills after participating in the program. Apart from that, this service also increases understanding of reading and writing, and students become more active and enthusiastic in participating in learning. Apart from that, this program also succeeded in creating a fun and conducive learning atmosphere.

Abstract

High school students in Indonesia, in today's development, have a final assignment before completing their senior secondary education, namely conducting scientific research, writing up research results and presenting them. General conditions show that female students still have difficulty conducting research which includes research ideas or topics, steps for conducting research and writing research results. In response to this condition, research training was created for class The method used is competition. Female students are invited to conduct research, collect data and analyze data in their respective places of residence during the holiday period. As a result of the activities obtained, as many as 35 female students took part in the competition. It appears that the participants dug up information, conducted interviews with sources, namely parents in the villages, then wrote down the results of their studies and pictures of traditional medicinal ingredients.  From the results of the competition, a scientific seminar was held with the theme; Traditional Medicine of the NTT Community; Chemical Content and Activity. The top four competition participants were selected as presenters, and discussed by Natural Materials Chemistry experts in the scientific seminar forum. It was concluded that through research competitions and seminars, it had become a means to train female students to carry out scientific research in their living environment, related to traditional medicine and present their research work.

Abstract

The program was conducted to study the utilization of liquid waste from tofu industries in Sukasukur Village as the main raw material for producing liquid organic fertilizer. This activity was designed through a socialization program with the Munjul Women Farmers' Community (KWT) in Sukasukur Village, focusing on enhancing the community's understanding of the impacts and importance of managing tofu liquid waste as a contribution to preserving the surrounding environment. The results showed that KWT members began to recognize the impacts of the waste and were able to independently and sustainably practice tofu liquid waste management techniques using a simple fermentation method.
