Abstract

The socialization of deep learning pedagogy represents an essential strategy in responding to the demands of 21st-century educational innovation, particularly for teachers who remain accustomed to conventional methods. This community service program was conducted in Kubu Raya Regency, engaging 50 teachers from various schools and subject areas. The implementation employed lectures, group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and hands-on practice, structured into three core sessions: understanding the fundamental concepts of deep learning, applying the approach in classroom instruction, and introducing assessment strategies along with a standardized lesson plan template. The results indicated an improvement in teachers’ conceptual understanding, with the majority reporting greater awareness of the characteristics and applications of deep learning. The assessment and lesson plan template sessions were highlighted as the most impactful, as they provided practical tools readily applicable in school settings. The evaluation further revealed teachers’ need for extended practice time, localized case studies, and continuity in the form of advanced training and mentoring. Accordingly, this program can be concluded to have successfully laid the foundation for enhancing teacher competence in Kubu Raya, while also fostering awareness that sustainable follow-up is essential for achieving genuine educational transformation.

Abstract

Kalibukbuk is a tourist village known for its beaches, which focus on developing marine tourism attractions and dolphin shows and coral reef tourism. In managing marine tourism, there are several priority issues, including 1) Limited competent resources in providing BHD and First Aid in emergency situations and 2) Low competent resources in utilising mobile applications in marine tourism management to achieve Safe Community Tourism. The target of this activity is the POKMASWAS members, consisting of 40 members. Each activity has five stages, starting from socialisation, training and demonstration, mentoring, evaluation, and Focus Group Discussions for follow-up activities. In the evaluation of BHD and First Aid skills, the average pre-test score of participants was recorded at 130. After training, the average post-test score increased significantly to 246.36, and the Wilcoxon test result showed a p-value < 0.001. These results indicate that the training had a significant impact on improving participants' understanding and skills in performing BHD and First Aid. In the application usage evaluation, the average pre-test score of participants was recorded at 64.00. After training, the average post-test score increased significantly to 94.00, and the Wilcoxon test result showed a p-value < 0.001. These results indicate that the training had a significant impact on improving participants' understanding and skills in using the Banyumilir FAR mobile application.

Abstract

This community service initiative addressed the challenge of limited access to financial literacy among elementary school children of Indonesian migrant workers in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The program aimed to enhance students’ ability to manage money from an early age by introducing practical, contextual, and engaging learning approaches. A participatory method was employed, where students actively engaged in activities supported by worksheets and digital quizzes designed to fit their cognitive stage. Data were gathered through documentation and interactive assessments, with descriptive quantitative analysis used to evaluate outcomes. The findings showed that students significantly improved in distinguishing needs from wants, developing simple budgets, and allocating pocket money for savings. The integration of digital tools increased their motivation and knowledge retention, while participatory activities fostered responsible financial behavior. Overall, the program effectively enhanced children’s basic financial management skills and highlighted the importance of early financial literacy education in non-formal learning environments. These results suggest that participatory and technology-based approaches can serve as innovative models for financial education in disadvantaged communities.

Abstract

Small-scale salt production in Indonesia still faces classic problems such as dependence on weather, low productivity, and inconsistent quality. This situation has a direct impact on the low competitiveness and unstable income of salt farmers. This programme aims to empower the salt farming community in Pamekasan District, Madura, through the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Crystalliser designed to monitor environmental parameters in real time, so that the crystallisation process can be controlled more efficiently and adaptively. The method used is community-based participatory research (CBPR), which emphasises active community involvement from the planning, testing, training, to evaluation stages. Implementation testing was carried out at the Pamekasan community salt ponds, while academic validation was conducted through the 2025 Science, Technology and Industry Convention (KSTI) at the Bandung Institute of Technology. Data was collected through participatory observation, interviews, questionnaires, and technical prototype testing. Analysis was conducted quantitatively using the paired sample t-test and qualitatively using the Miles & Huberman model. The results of the activity showed an increase in salt productivity of ±20%, an acceleration in crystallisation time of up to 25%, and an improvement in salt quality with an NaCl content of ≥97%. Community participation was quite high, with more than 70% of farmers able to operate the monitoring application independently. This programme has had a tangible impact in the form of a 15–20% increase in farmers' income while strengthening the community's independence in managing salt ponds. Thus, the application of the IoT-based Smart Crystallizer has proven to be effective as an appropriate technological innovation that meets the needs of traditional salt farmers. This programme contributes to the independence of the national salt industry in the Industry 4.0 era and opens up opportunities for replication in other salt centres in Indonesia.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and rapid digital technological advancement, approaches to linguistic research have undergone significant transformation. One increasingly popular approach is corpus linguistics, which utilizes digital language data to analyze real and contextual language use. To introduce this method to international students, an International Community Service (P2M) program was held in the form of a training session themed "Using Corpus Tools for Linguistics Research." Conducted twice in June 2025, the program featured interactive sessions using corpus tools such as COCA (Corpus of Contemporary American English) and collaborative practice activities like the "Word Frequency Hunt." Participants actively engaged in linguistic data exploration through frequency analysis, collocation, and cross-genre language usage. Survey results indicated that 95% of participants felt motivated to apply corpus linguistics in their studies. This activity is expected to mark the beginning of ongoing international academic collaboration and open opportunities for future face-to-face implementation.

Abstract

The partner targeted by this Community Partnership Program is SD Kreatif Muhammadiyah 01 Lumajang, located in a disaster-prone area that requires further intervention. This has become a crisis situation for SD Kreatif Muhammadiyah 01 Lumajang, which can disrupt the welfare of teachers and students, resulting in anxiety and fear of natural disasters. This service aims to provide a new atmosphere and spirit in disaster mitigation learning, which will be implemented with SIMA-DIGI based on Virtual Reality in accordance with the needs of digital-based education by creating a SIMA-DIGI application based on Virtual Reality for disaster mitigation. The methods used to carry out the activities are in the form of discussions, mentoring, and training. The training, which was conducted over one week, effectively increased participants' knowledge and changed their attitudes. This was evidenced by the pre-test results, which showed that 25 students had a low level of knowledge (62.5%), 10 students had a moderate level of knowledge (25%), and 5 students had a high level of knowledge (12.5%). However, after receiving counseling and training using the SIMA DIGI Design Application, the post-test results showed a significant increase, including a drastic rise in the level of knowledge related to disaster mitigation to 87.5%. Thus, it is hoped that with the level of knowledge possessed by the students, awareness and preparedness for disasters that may occur at SD Kreatif Muhammadiyah 01 Lumajang can be improved..
