Abstract

BK teachers are expected to be able to compile and develop RPLBK according to the characteristics and needs of students (differentiated) at school. This study aims to identify the obstacles faced by counseling teachers in developing differentiated EAPs. The method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and interviews. A total of 31 counseling teachers from 11 junior high schools in Palangka Raya City filled out the questionnaire, and interviews were conducted with the head of PD-ABKIN Central Kalimantan and the head of MGBK Central Kalimantan. The results showed that most counseling teachers did not understand and implement differentiated RPLBK. This is due to teachers' low skills in using technology, lack of support from stakeholders, and the absence of clear regulations regarding the use of differentiated RPLBK. In addition, the lack of appreciation and financial support is also an inhibiting factor. Therefore, stakeholders need to make regulations that encourage the improvement of counseling teachers' ability to design differentiated RPLBK, and provide intensive training to improve technology skills and understanding in the preparation of differentiated RPLBK.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' self-confidence through group counseling services with role play techniques. The method used is Guidance and Counseling Action Research which consists of several cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were participants who were educated with low levels of self-confidence based on the results of the initial assessment. The role playing technique was chosen because it is able to provide direct experience to participants in dealing with social situations, thus helping them develop self-confidence. The role playing technique in group counseling proved to be effective in increasing students' self-confidence. In cycle I, the average self-confidence increased from 46.9% to 65.1%, with 37.5% of students in the high category and 62.5% in the medium category. In cycle II, the average increased to 71.31%, with 87.5% of students in the high category and 12.5% in the medium category. This increase was characterized by the participants' ability to express opinions, interact with peers, and show a confident attitude in daily activities. These findings suggest that the application of role playing techniques can be an effective alternative strategy in guidance and counseling services. Future researchers are advised to test the effectiveness of this role playing technique on a larger population of students or at various levels of education.

Abstract

Anxiety and depression disorders continue to increase among adolescents and young adults due to barriers to accessing traditional counseling services and the associated social stigma. This study aims to explore the role of the @AnonymousChat feature on the Telegram application as an alternative curative medium in counseling interventions. Using a qualitative approach, five participants aged 16–24 years were interviewed in depth to understand their experiences in utilizing the feature. The results revealed that the anonymity of this feature creates a sense of safety that allows users to share without fear of social stigma. However, limitations in deepening communication and emotional openness indicate the need for integration with professional counseling services. This study concludes that the @AnonymousChat feature has the potential as an innovative curative solution, but further development is needed to optimize technology-based mental health support comprehensively.

Abstract

Proper career guidance can help students understand themselves. High school students are in their late teens and are in a transitional phase, so they need to make the right decisions for their future careers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Classical Guidance Project Based Learning Method using Canva to improve the Stability of Students' Career Decision Making. This study is quantitative with an experimental research type. The research design is one group pretest-posttest design. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert Scale. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis, T-test, and Product Moment Correlation Test. The results showed that the level of stability of students' career decision making before being given treatment was in the low category of 12.50% and dominant in the medium category of 87.5%. However, after being given treatment, it was in the high category of 22.50% and dominant in the very high category of 77.50%. There was a significant difference in the stability of students' career decision making between before and after treatment, namely an increase in aspects and the highest increase in aspects was exploration, which was 398 points. Then the classical guidance service using the project-based learning method using Canva had a positive influence of 54% in increasing the stability of career decision-making in grade XI students.

Abstract

Career planning is an individual process of preparing to choose, design, and determine the career field to pursue. The initial step in career planning is self-understanding. Therefore, students need to be provided with classical guidance to enhance their self-understanding in career planning. The addition of technology-based multimedia is also used to attract students' attention during the guidance process. This study aims to examine the influence of classical guidance assisted by multimedia in improving self-understanding for career planning among students at MAN 2 Kota Pekanbaru. This research employs a quantitative approach using experimental methods. The subjects were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of one class of 36 tenth-grade students with the lowest average scores. The results indicate significant differences before and after the classical guidance intervention, as evidenced by a t-test significance value of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. Classical guidance also showed a significant influence, contributing a determinant coefficient of 50.6%. The study concludes that classical guidance assisted by multimedia effectively enhances self-understanding in students' career planning. Future researchers are encouraged to explore other aspects and incorporate more up-to-date media.

Abstract

The abuse of Narcotics, Psychotropics, and other Addictive Substances (NAPZA) among adolescents continues to rise despite widespread awareness of its dangers. Environmental factors, social pressure, and lack of self-awareness are key contributors. This study aims to examine the Gestalt counseling approach as an intervention method for NAPZA addicts to enhance their self-awareness. The research employs a literature review method by analyzing various journals, books, and documents discussing NAPZA addiction and the application of Gestalt counseling in addiction rehabilitation. The findings indicate that the primary causes of NAPZA addiction include sensation-seeking, escaping from problems, and social influences such as Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). The impact of addiction extends to physical, psychological, and social disturbances. Gestalt counseling, which emphasizes self-awareness and personal responsibility, has proven effective in helping addicts recognize emotions, accept themselves, and make healthier decisions. Techniques such as the empty chair dialogue and responsibility exercises assist addicts in addressing internal conflicts and developing a better understanding of themselves. In conclusion, the Gestalt approach can be an effective method for addressing NAPZA addiction, particularly in enhancing self-awareness and individual responsibility. Future research is recommended to explore the effectiveness of this method in different cultural and rehabilitation contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the level of depression among students, focusing on the impact of gender and academic stream. A total of 291 final-year students from two Sixth Form Centers in Brunei Darussalam participated in this study. Data were collected using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale 21 items (DASS21), which measures depression levels across five categories: normal, mild, moderate, severe, and very severe. The results showed that the majority of students (52%) were in the normal depression category, while 16% experienced mild depression and 17% experienced moderate depression. Analysis based on gender revealed that female students tended to have higher depression levels compared to male students. Additionally, students from the arts stream showed higher levels of depression compared to those from the science stream, with 56% of arts students falling into the mild to very severe depression categories, compared to only 39% of science students. This study concludes that both gender and academic stream play an important role in determining students' depression levels, with female students and those in the arts stream being more vulnerable to pressures that affect their mental well-being. These findings provide valuable insights for designing more specific psychosocial interventions, such as stress management programs and group counseling, particularly for students in the arts stream.

Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools is a concerning issue with long-term consequences for children's mental health. This study aims to comprehensively examine various forms of bullying and their psychological impacts on victims from childhood through adulthood. Using a literature review method, data were collected from relevant scientific sources published within the last ten years. The findings reveal that children who experience bullying in elementary school are at significantly higher risk of developing depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, low self-esteem, eating disorders, and suicidal tendencies. These effects also influence academic achievement, social development, and overall long-term well-being. The results highlight the urgent need for early interventions, active engagement of educational stakeholders, and multisectoral approaches to bullying prevention. This study contributes to the academic understanding of the importance of protecting children's mental health from an early age through structured anti-bullying policies and programs.

Abstract

Death anxiety is a form of existential anxiety that can disrupt an individual's emotional balance and daily functioning, particularly among university students who are navigating developmental and personal challenges. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the humanistic-existential counseling approach in helping students cope with death-related anxiety. A qualitative case study method was employed, involving five individual counseling sessions with a student experiencing intense anxiety following the loss of a parent. The results show that existential counseling helped the counselee reflect on traumatic experiences, understand the root causes of their anxiety, and reconstruct the meaning of life. The counselee demonstrated improvements in self-awareness, acceptance of existential reality, and the ability to manage negative thoughts in a more adaptive way. This study concludes that humanistic-existential counseling is effective in reducing death anxiety by guiding counselees to discover personal meaning, embrace freedom of choice, and take responsibility for their lives.

Abstract

Drug addiction has a profound impact on the dynamics and harmony of intimate relationships, particularly in emotional, communicative, and psychological aspects. This study aims to explore the effects of drug addiction on couple relationship patterns and evaluate the effectiveness of Gestalt counseling in enhancing self-awareness. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used, involving a university student at Universitas Negeri Surabaya who experienced relationship disharmony due to a partner's history of drug abuse. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings revealed that drug addiction led to behavioral changes, emotional instability, and decreased interpersonal quality. Through Gestalt counseling, the counselee demonstrated increased self-awareness, acceptance of emotional experiences, and an improved ability to rebuild relationship balance. Techniques such as the empty-chair dialogue and positive affirmations were effective in facilitating emotional reflection and cognitive restructuring. In conclusion, Gestalt counseling is a relevant approach to support individuals affected by drug-related relational disruptions in achieving greater personal insight and restoring relationship harmony.
