Abstract

The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) is followed by students and is designed to measure reading and numeracy literacy as a cognitive learning outcome. In its development, AKM adopts the assessment system carried out by the OECD through PISA, so that it was first implemented and even now, in general, teachers still do not understand AKM which is based on numeracy literacy, and have not been able to develop measurement instruments according to standards. For the fulfillment of quality educational services for the community through improving the competence of teachers in AKM, community service is developed in the form of training. In order for the training to strengthen the understanding of numeracy literacy and the development of assessment instruments, this service is arranged in several stages. Seminar on strengthening numeracy literacy and its measurement, and the practice of developing AKM model instruments. Although the increase in participants' knowledge was not too high, the results of the evaluation of this service activity were responded to very well in service, responsiveness, and tangible evidence. The teacher's response to the implementation of service activities that have been carried out is generally considered very good. The seminars and workshops in the development of AKM model instruments have provided a lot of knowledge and experience in compiling standard instruments, so that not only for the needs of literacy measurement, but also for the needs of teachers in the development of learning outcome instruments. Therefore, it is important for the government (Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religion) or universities in the field of education to provide services for teachers in improving their numeracy understanding skills, and their skills in compiling AKM model instruments, so that they can be integrated into mathematics learning practices.

Abstract

The use of appropriate media is a crucial factor in enhancing students' writing skills, particularly in composing biographical texts. Effective media not only facilitate student engagement but also support the construction of coherent and compelling life narratives. This study aims to examine students' attention levels and evaluate the effectiveness of Padlet as a digital learning medium in improving students’ competence in writing biographical manuscripts. A pre-experimental design with a one-shot case study approach was employed, involving 24 students from Class X-2 selected through cluster sampling. Data were collected using observations and questionnaires, and analyzed through both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The findings reveal two key outcomes: (1) student attention during the learning process was notably high, with observed activity increasing from 87.92% to 99.33%, supported by a normality test significance value of 0.083; (2) the use of Padlet proved significantly effective, as evidenced by a calculated t-value of 47.54, which far exceeded the critical t-table value of 2.068. These results suggest that Padlet is a valid and effective medium for supporting the teaching and learning of biographical writing. This study contributes to the growing body of research on digital media integration in language learning by empirically demonstrating that Padlet enhances student engagement and writing competence. It provides practical insights for educators seeking innovative tools to improve writing instruction, especially in the context of biographical texts. Moreover, the study reinforces the pedagogical value of interactive platforms in fostering active learning and higher-order thinking skills in secondary education

Abstract

Writing argumentative essay poses a significant challenge for English students, who often struggle with expressing opinions, organizing ideas logically, and using appropriate language structures. Despite the importance of assessing writing skills at early stages, few reliable instruments exist that are specifically designed to evaluate argumentative essay. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable analytic rubric to assess students’ argumentative essay skills, focusing on six key components: clarity of thesis, organization and coherence, supporting evidence, argument development, language use, and vocabulary range. The research employed a design-based development approach, incorporating literature review, expert validation, and empirical testing. Content validity was established through expert judgment (S-CVI = 0.95), and the instrument was pilot-tested with 85 English students. Statistical analyses demonstrated high inter-rater reliability (ICC = 0.87) and strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.89). Descriptive data revealed that while English students showed emerging abilities in thesis clarity and grammar, they struggled with supporting arguments and maintaining logical flow. The resulting rubric serves both as an assessment and instructional tool, helping educators diagnose English student needs and promote writing development. Unlike general-purpose rubrics or those designed for advanced English students, this rubric is specifically aligned with the challenges of early-stage academic writers. The study contributes to closing a gap in writing assessment tools and provides a practical resource for use in EFL classrooms

Abstract

This study was driven by three critical issues: (1) the weak implementation of work culture among vocational high school (SMK) teachers, despite their role as student role models; (2) the need to enhance teachers’ achievement motivation to continuously improve competencies and adapt to the rapid advancement of industrial technology; and (3) the suboptimal learning quality in public SMKs in Serang City, as evidenced by the low employment absorption of graduates. The purpose of this research was to examine the influence of work culture and achievement motivation—both individually and jointly—on the quality of learning. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, utilizing multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS Statistics version 23. The research instrument, tested for validity and reliability on 30 teachers, produced 60 valid items across three variables and was subsequently distributed to 86 teachers from public SMKs in Serang City. The partial test (t-test) results showed that work culture (p = 0.002) and achievement motivation (p = 0.000) had significant individual effects on the quality of learning. Furthermore, the simultaneous test (F-test) yielded an F value of 84.179 with a significance level of 0.000, confirming that both factors had a strong and significant combined influence on learning quality. These findings underscore the importance of fostering a positive work culture and strengthening teachers’ achievement motivation to enhance the educational outcomes in vocational high schools.

Abstract

Technological advancements in the Society 5.0 era have driven the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into various aspects of education, including creative writing learning. AI functions as a tool to assist students in generating ideas, structuring their writing, and receiving adaptive feedback. However, the implementation of AI in writing education still faces several challenges, such as the potential for grammatical inaccuracies, limited emotional depth, and a tendency to generate overly simplistic texts. This study aims to review various AI-based learning approaches and improve their effectiveness in developing the creative writing skills of students. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method and using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines was employed by analyzing previous studies related to the integration of AI in creative writing education. The findings of this study indicate that the ChatGPT platform is widely utilized in the development of creative writing, particularly short stories.  ChatGPT has proven effective in enhancing the writing skills of students by facilitating idea generation and supporting information exploration. Moreover, AI proves most effective when used as a collaborative tool within pedagogically grounded models, rather than as a replacement for human creativity. This study contributes to the enhancement of student creative writing skills by mapping current AI developments, identifying the most effective instructional models, and providing evidence-based recommendations for integrating AI to improve student performance in creative writing education.

Abstract

Illegal online loans have become a common solution for people facing emergency financial needs, particularly in relation to family economic challenges. As a way to address the growing number of gharimin (debtors), this study explores the utilization of zakat based on qawa'id fiqhiyyah as a potential solution to the illegal online loan problem. This study uses a library research methodology with a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings indicate that zakat, when based on qawa'id fiqhiyyah, has not been fully optimized as a solution for illegal online loans. Factors such as the unclear classification of gharimin within the seven asnaf categories defined in Islamic law contribute to this issue. The study identifies key principles that justify the distribution of zakat to victims of illegal online loans. First, Al-Masyaqqah Tajlibu At-Taysīr (difficulty invites ease) suggests that Islamic law allows for flexibility and relief in times of hardship. Second, the principle of darurah (necessity), which permits the relaxation of prohibitions in critical situations, applies to individuals burdened by illegal debt. Third, Dar' al-Mafāsid Muqaddam' ala Jalb al-Maṣāliḥ (prevention of harm takes precedence over the pursuit of benefits) emphasizes that the risks such as psychological stress, social stigma, and even suicide, should be mitigated by preventing further harm through zakat. Finally, the principle of Al-‘Ādah Muḥakkamah allows for the inclusion of social customs as a legal basis, provided they do not conflict with Islamic law. This research offers a novel approach by integrating zakat within the broader legal and social context to address the issue of illegal online loans in Indonesia. The study contributes to the literature by highlighting zakat as an underutilized resource in combating financial exploitation in the digital age, providing new insights into the intersection of Islamic financial principles and contemporary economic challenges

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role, strategy, and obstacles of BMT Al-Azhaar in enhancing the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Lubuklinggau City. This research uses a qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation analyzed through data reduction, display, verification, and conclusion drawing. The results show that BMT Al-Azhaar plays two key roles in empowering MSMEs: financing and coaching. The financing role distances the community from usury-based practices and provides equitable Sharia-compliant financial support. In contrast, the coaching role helps free MSMEs from dependence on loan sharks through business guidance and mentoring. The strategies used by BMT Al-Azhaar include community-based, local resource-based, and sustainability-based approaches. The institution faces internal obstacles—such as limited human resources and non-performing loans—and external challenges, including public misconceptions equating BMT with conventional financial institutions due to fixed margin perceptions. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic microfinance by presenting a contextual model of MSME empowerment that integrates Sharia-compliant financing with coaching rooted in local values and spiritual ethics. Its novelty is identifying BMT’s empathetic strategies, such as installment deferrals for disaster-affected clients and proactive public education to address misunderstandings about murabahah contracts. These findings affirm BMT Al-Azhaar’s role as a financial provider and an agent of Islamic economic literacy and holistic empowerment.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the influence of Innovation Climate and Collaborative Learning on the Performance of Elementary School Teachers in Kelapa Dua District in Tangerang Regency. The study used an explanatory method with a quantitative approach. The research instrument used a closed questionnaire on 74 respondents using a total sampling technique. The study used simple and multiple linear regression techniques to test the influence of independent variables on dependent variables using SPSS 26. The results of the study showed that: (1) Innovation climate has a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. This is indicated by a regression coefficient of 0.532 and a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), with a regression equation of Y = 33.807 + 0.532X1. (2) Collaborative learning has a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. The regression coefficient obtained was 0.336 with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), and a regression equation of Y = 42.144 + 0.336X2. (3) Innovation climate and collaborative learning simultaneously have a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. This is proven by the calculated F value of 22.319 which is greater than the F table of 2.733 and a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The multiple regression equation obtained is Y = 22.823 + 0.443X1 + 0.214X2. The coefficient of determination value is 0.369. This means that the magnitude of the influence of innovation climate and collaborative learning on teacher performance is 36.9% while the remaining 63.1% is influenced by other factors not studied by the researcher. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of innovation climate and collaborative learning variables in one predictive model of elementary school teacher performance in the context of implementing the Independent Curriculum, which has rarely been studied simultaneously in previous studies in Tangerang Regency.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are significant drivers of economic development in Indonesia, especially in creating job opportunities and promoting growth. However, SMEs face various challenges, particularly in accessing financial resources, which can hinder their expansion. As an Islamic socio-economic instrument, Zakat has great potential to support community empowerment. When managed effectively, productive Zakat can alleviate poverty and improve welfare. This study focuses on optimizing productive zakat distribution through the Linggau Makmur program by BAZNAS Lubuklinggau City, which aims to enhance the welfare of mustahik (zakat recipients), specifically those involved in SMEs. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, collecting data through semi-structured interviews with BAZNAS officials, mustahik, and stakeholders. The study identifies key factors influencing zakat distribution effectiveness, challenges faced, and strategies for improving the program’s impact. Findings suggest that the Linggau Makmur program has significantly empowered SMEs by providing financial assistance, training, mentoring, and continuous support. However, challenges like limited funding and low financial literacy among recipients remain. The study provides practical recommendations for optimizing zakat distribution to ensure long-term economic independence for mustahik and sustainable development.
