Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the success of student organization management in Pesantren Terpadu Al-Muslim and Pesantren Modern Al-Zahrah. The primary focus is to identify the elements supporting the success of student organizations, including the selection of human resources, organizational environment, and collaboration among members. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving mentors, organization administrators, and pesantren leaders. The findings reveal that the success of student organization management is influenced by four key factors. First, the quality of human resources selected through a competency-based process emphasizing spiritual, academic, and managerial capabilities. Second, a supportive organizational environment, such as regular motivation and the freedom to develop new ideas. Third, strong collaboration among organization members facilitated by effective communication. Fourth, leadership that fosters synergy and shared values within the organization. The implications of this study indicate that effective student organization management requires a combination of qualified administrator selection, the creation of a conducive working environment, and synergy among organization members. These findings contribute to the development of student organization management strategies in pesantren and serve as a reference for other Islamic educational institutions in enhancing the effectiveness of student organizations.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in primary schools is often perceived as challenging and uninteresting by students, particularly in fraction topics that require strong visualization skills. This study aims to develop a demonstration-based fraction media designed to help students understand fraction concepts through concrete and interactive learning experiences. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, involving 25 third-grade students from SDS Islam Ulul Albab Jember. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test assessments. The validation results showed average scores of 4.90 from media experts, 4.90 from material experts, and 4.50 from the classroom teacher, all falling under the “highly feasible” category. Student responses were also very positive, with an average score of 4.98. The effectiveness of the media was reflected in a substantial improvement in learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from 62.4 (pre-test) to 86.7 (post-test). These findings indicate that the demonstration-based fraction media is effective, engaging, and capable of enhancing students’ understanding of fraction concepts. Therefore, this media is recommended as an alternative instructional tool to support mathematics learning in primary schools, especially for topics that require visual and manipulative understanding.

Abstract

Imlā’ instruction plays a central role in Islamic Religious Education by strengthening Arabic writing accuracy and supporting religious literacy. However, existing studies tend to emphasize its technical outcomes, while the pedagogical, affective, and epistemological dimensions that position imlā’ as a practice shaping scholarly awareness have not been sufficiently synthesized. This study aims to examine the urgency of imlā’ learning and its contribution to learners’ academic competence and scholarly character through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Following PRISMA guidelines, this review analyzed 21 peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2025. Data were collected from Scopus, SINTA, DOAJ, and Google Scholar and systematically analyzed to identify research designs, imlā’ methods, and learning outcomes. The findings indicate that most studies consistently report positive effects of imlā’ instruction on Arabic writing accuracy, including improved letter formation, orthographic precision, and reduced imlā’iyyah errors. Several studies also highlight affective benefits, such as increased focus, discipline, and learning responsibility, while a smaller number of studies address persistent challenges in academic writing accuracy at higher education levels. The integration of digital media remains limited and functions primarily as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for manual writing practice. Overall, the review confirms that imlā’ instruction is not merely a technical exercise but a foundational pedagogical practice that contributes to religious literacy, disciplined learning habits, and scholarly character.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and the integration of multicultural values in the curriculum of the Primary Madrasah Teacher Education (PGMI) program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Specifically, the study examines the alignment between the formulation of learning outcomes, classroom instructional practices, and assessment strategies, while also identifying challenges in implementing OBE within the context of Islamic higher education institutions (PTKI). A qualitative approach, employing a case study design, was used. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with lecturers and program administrators, classroom observations, and document analysis of the curriculum and OBE-based Semester Learning Plans (RPS). The data were analyzed thematically through stages of data reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The findings indicate that the PGMI curriculum has been developed in accordance with OBE principles, as reflected in the formulation of Program Learning Outcomes (CPL), Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK), and a structured curriculum mapping process. However, the implementation of OBE and the integration of multicultural values in classroom practice remain inconsistent. Variations in instructional methods and assessment approaches suggest that constructive alignment has not yet been fully achieved. This study proposes the concept of semi-alignment to explain the gap between curriculum design and instructional practice. The findings highlight that the successful implementation of OBE in PTKI requires strengthened lecturer capacity, consistent application of authentic assessment, and sustained institutional support through systematic monitoring and mentoring mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of school principals’ leadership grounded in local wisdom on the realization of healthy schools oriented toward students’ needs in Deli Serdang Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional correlational design. The population consisted of all public elementary and junior high school principals in Deli Serdang Regency, totalling 582 principals, from which 338 respondents were selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results indicate that both local wisdom–based principal leadership and healthy school conditions are categorized at a high level. Regression analysis reveals a strong and statistically significant relationship between local wisdom–based principal leadership and healthy schools (r = 0.756; R² = 0.572; p < 0.05), indicating that principal leadership contributes 57.2% to the realization of healthy schools. Among the leadership indicators, teachers’ intellectual stimulation emerges as the most dominant component influencing the creation of a safe, comfortable, and student-friendly school environment. This study concludes that local wisdom–based principal leadership plays a strategic role in supporting healthy schools oriented toward students’ needs. The findings highlight the importance of developing school leadership that is not only managerially adaptive but also capable of internalizing local cultural values in school management practices.

Abstract

Tracer studies are essential for evaluating the relevance of higher education programs to the workforce and understanding the capabilities of alumni. The PAI Postgraduate Program at IAIN Lhokseumawe has yet to track graduate outcomes and stakeholder perceptions systematically. This study aims to examine the employment status, workplace relevance, and competency capabilities of graduates from the PAI Postgraduate Program, as well as stakeholder responses to their performance. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires from 116 graduates of the 2018–2021 cohorts, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews with graduates and stakeholders. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation, and thematic analysis for qualitative insights. The findings indicate that 92.5% of graduates are employed, with 93.7% working in fields relevant to their education. Key competencies such as integrity, professionalism, IT literacy, communication, teamwork, and self-development were rated excellent by both graduates and stakeholders. Nevertheless, foreign language proficiency (English and Arabic) emerged as an area for improvement. Alumni also highlighted the importance of networking and continuous professional development to enhance employability. The PAI Postgraduate Program effectively prepares graduates with competencies aligned to workplace demands, achieving high employment rates and stakeholder satisfaction. However, targeted improvements in foreign language skills and professional networking are recommended to further enhance graduate competitiveness. These results provide practical guidance for curriculum development and program evaluation to maintain relevance and quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) method in enhancing the creative thinking skills of eighth-grade students in the topic of neighborly manners at Lembaga Pendidikan Al-Qur’an Ma’had An-Ni’mah, Deli Serdang. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a single cycle, as the class achieved the minimum completeness target of 85%. The subjects consisted of 24 students, and data were collected through creativity tests, classroom observations, and assessments of creative thinking aspects: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ creative thinking skills. Mastery learning increased from 62.5% in the pre-cycle to 91.66% in Cycle I, with the number of students reaching the completeness criterion rising from 15 to 22. Qualitative analysis showed that TSTS encouraged active interaction, idea exchange among groups, and creative collaboration through visual representation, enabling students to generate new ideas, enhance cognitive flexibility, and elaborate their concepts. This method also facilitated the internalization of Islamic adab values through meaningful creative activities. In conclusion, the TSTS method proved to be both practically effective and pedagogically relevant in improving creative thinking and understanding of neighborly adab. The study recommends implementing TSTS combined with visual media and other creative activities to strengthen students’ creativity, motivation, and collaborative skills in learning Islamic adab.

Abstract

This study employs an integrated data analytics approach to examine student perceptions of learning quality at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), IAIN Lhokseumawe. The analytical framework combines descriptive statistics, K-Means clustering, and multiple linear regression to provide a comprehensive evaluation of instructional quality. Data were collected from 805 active undergraduate students using a structured questionnaire measuring nine learning quality indicators related to instructional delivery, lecturer competence, communication, assessment practices, and institutional compliance. The findings indicate that students generally perceive the quality of learning positively, with an overall mean score of 4.32 on a five-point Likert scale. Lecturer’s Mastery of Material and Accuracy in Answering Questions emerged as the highest-rated indicators, while Material Suitability with the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) and Transparency of Assessment Criteria received comparatively lower scores. Regression results show that instructional quality indicators significantly influence overall student satisfaction, with assessment transparency as the strongest predictor and material suitability with the RPS as the weakest.  These results highlight the importance of transparent assessment practices and consistent alignment between instructional materials and the RPS in shaping students’ learning experiences, enhancing student trust, reducing uncertainty, and sustaining educational quality in Islamic higher education.

Abstract

Mosque-based educational institutions play a vital role in supporting the academic, moral, and spiritual development of Muslim communities. Their effectiveness, however, depends on sound educational management practices. This study explores how the Baitul Muttaqin Mosque Islamic Center implements core management functions across its formal and non-formal educational units. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, collecting data through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis with key informants, including the head of the Education and Training Unit (UPT), principals, teachers, and administrative staff. Data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s interactive model, complemented by source and method triangulation to ensure credibility. Findings reveal that educational management is structured and value-driven but evolving. Planning is internally coordinated yet lacks consistent stakeholder participation. Organizational practices function effectively, although the absence of written job descriptions sometimes leads to role overlap. Program implementation integrates academic learning with Islamic values, but limited library resources and digital infrastructure constrain optimal delivery. Supervision is regular but informal, without standardized evaluation tools or independent review mechanisms. The study concludes that the Islamic Center demonstrates substantial progress in aligning Islamic educational values with contemporary management practices. Enhancing stakeholder engagement, formal documentation, resource provision, and supervision mechanisms will improve sustainability and effectiveness, positioning mosque-based educational institutions as models for integrated Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Islamic Guidance and Counseling (IGC) is often understood as the integration of religious values into conventional psychological practice. Such an approach tends to position spirituality as a complementary element rather than as a paradigmatic framework. This article aims to formulate a holistic paradigm of Islamic Guidance and Counseling that views human beings as an integrated unity of spiritual, psychological, and social dimensions within the framework of tawhid. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research. Data were drawn from primary sources, including the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical Islamic scholarship by figures such as Al-Ghazali and Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, as well as secondary sources consisting of nationally and internationally reputable journal articles in the fields of Islamic psychology and counseling published within the last 10–15 years. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative content analysis and textual–comparative analysis to generate a conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that the holistic paradigm of Islamic Guidance and Counseling is structured around three core dimensions: spiritual, psychological, and social. The spiritual dimension serves as the foundational axis through the concepts of ruh, qalb, and nafs, with worship practices, aqidah, and akhlaq functioning as mechanisms of counseling intervention. The psychological dimension integrates modern psychological theories critically within an Islamic epistemological framework, positioning tawhid as a unifying metatheory. Meanwhile, the social dimension emphasizes the role of Islamic community support as an active component in the processes of healing and personal development. These findings affirm that Islamic Guidance and Counseling is not merely a religious adaptation of Western psychology, but rather a coherent scientific paradigm grounded in a comprehensive ontological and epistemological foundation. The resulting conceptual model illustrates the dynamic interrelationship among these dimensions in fostering the holistic well-being of Muslim individuals.
