Abstract

The increasingly complex environmental issues demand real efforts to instill environmental awareness and caring character from an early age. Elementary schools play a crucial role as a medium for shaping environmentally friendly behavior through practical and educational activities. Based on this premise, this Student Creativity Program for Community Service (PKM) was conducted at SDN 3 Bedali Kediri East Java with the aim of fostering students’ environmental awareness through an interactive and experiential Tree Planting Workshop. The method used in this program was the Community Action Empowerment Approach, which emphasizes collaboration among university students, teachers, and pupils throughout the entire process. This approach consists of several stages, including socialization, training, tree planting practice, and evaluation of the outcomes. Through this method, students were not only provided with theoretical knowledge about the importance of ecosystems and reforestation but were also actively involved in planting and maintaining trees within the school environment. The results indicated improvements in three main aspects: (1) the cognitive aspect, referring to an increased understanding of the ecological functions of plants; (2) the affective aspect, reflected in the growth of empathy, responsibility, and environmental concern; and (3) the psychomotor aspect, represented by the students’ improved skills in planting and caring for trees. Overall, this program demonstrates that character education based on real actions through the Community Action Empowerment Approach is effective in fostering environmental awareness among elementary school students. Through this initiative, SDN 3 Bedali Kediri East Java not only became a greener school but also nurtured a young generation that behaves ecologically and is ready to become responsible agents of change for their environment. Abstract

This community service research discusses the role of students in assisting religious educational institutions with legal matters, using the Al-Hidayatut Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Foundation as a case study. Legality is a fundamental aspect for a foundation to have legal power, obtain official recognition, and open access to government support and external partners. However, many foundations still face obstacles in terms of administration, understanding regulations, and limited resources. Students act as assistants who play a role in disseminating information about regulations, helping to prepare legal documents, and assisting in the process of applying for legality to the relevant agencies. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that student assistance contributes significantly to facilitating the foundation's legalization process, increasing the administrators' awareness of the importance of administrative governance, and strengthening the position of the Al-Hidayatut Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Foundation as a legally recognized religious educational institution. Thus, the synergy between students and the community through legal assistance can have a positive impact on the sustainability and development of religious educational institutions. Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peran strategis dalam perekonomian Indonesia dengan kontribusi lebih dari 60% terhadap PDB dan menyerap hampir 97% tenaga kerja. Pandemi COVID-19 memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap sektor UMKM, termasuk usaha "Peyek dan Rengginang Zahra" di Desa Megu Gede, Kabupaten Cirebon yang mengalami penurunan produksi hingga 70%. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan daya saing UMKM melalui transformasi komprehensif yang mencakup peningkatan branding, legalisasi usaha, inovasi produk, dan digitalisasi pemasaran. Metode pendampingan partisipatif dan kolaboratif diterapkan selama 40 hari dengan melibatkan pemilik usaha sebagai subjek aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Program ini berhasil menciptakan identitas brand melalui logo profesional dan kemasan menarik, memfasilitasi pengurusan Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB) dan sertifikasi halal, mengembangkan diversifikasi varian rasa produk, serta mentransformasi strategi pemasaran dari konvensional menuju digital marketing melalui media sosial. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan brand awareness, kredibilitas usaha, dan jangkauan pemasaran yang lebih luas. Kontribusi mahasiswa KKN sebagai agen perubahan terbukti efektif dalam mentransfer pengetahuan modern kepada pelaku UMKM tradisional. Model pendampingan komprehensif ini dapat direplikasi untuk UMKM sejenis dengan dukungan berkelanjutan dari pemerintah daerah dan stakeholder terkait untuk memastikan sustainability program jangka panjang.

Abstract

This community service activity is a manifestation of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which focuses on improving students' understanding of legal developments in Indonesia. The background of this activity stems from the problem of low legal awareness among students, especially in understanding the law which is often ignored in social interactions in the school environment. This condition causes the still rampant behavior of bullying, discrimination, drugs, brawls, and other violations of individual rights. To address this problem, the implementing team conducted a socialization activity at SMAN 3 Kuningan Regency which was attended by 40 students using a normative legal lecture approach, interactive discussions, and case studies. This method is designed so that participants not only understand the theory, but also are able to identify and analyze problems that occur in the school environment in the context of everyday life in the educational environment. The results of the activity showed an increase in student understanding of the law, awareness of the importance of law enforcement in schools, and the emergence of a critical attitude towards actions that have the potential to violate individual rights. In addition, the discussion also emphasized the strategic role of teachers and the guidance and counseling department in building a school culture that respects human values. Overall, this community service activity provides a positive contribution to efforts to strengthen legal awareness and develop the character of students who uphold an understanding of law in Indonesia, while also expanding the role of higher education in building a just and civilized society.

Abstract

The low utilization of digital technology in elementary school learning largely stems from a weak culture of knowledge sharing among teachers, not solely from limited resources. This community service activity aims to optimize the digital literacy of elementary school teachers and students by establishing a teacher learning community as a platform for ongoing mentoring. The activity was implemented through five stages: needs mapping, learning community formation, gradual training, collaborative practice between teachers, and reflective evaluation. The target group included classroom teachers and students at a partner elementary school. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in teachers' digital competency, not only individual but also through the process of sharing good practices among teachers in community forums. Students also demonstrated improved digital literacy skills, particularly in recognizing trustworthy information. In conclusion, the mentoring model based on a teacher learning community has proven to be an effective and sustainable strategy for optimizing digital literacy to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.
