Abstract

Learning motivation determines students' engagement in Pancasila Education, yet lecture- and textbook-based learning may reduce participation. This study examined the effectiveness of Smart Box learning media in improving the learning motivation of eighth-grade students at SMPN 5 Banyuwangi. A quantitative quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design was used. The participants were 67 students: 34 in the experimental class and 33 in the control class. Data were collected through observation, a learning motivation questionnaire, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality tests, Levene homogeneity tests, and an Independent Sample t-Test. The experimental class mean increased from 66.29 to 86.59, while the control class mean increased from 73.52 to 83.88. The posttest result was significant (p = 0.021 < 0.05). Thus, Smart Box media effectively improved learning motivation by making learning more concrete, interactive, and participatory.

Abstract

The digital era has fundamentally transformed the ways in which knowledge is produced and legitimized. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), the proliferation of big data, and the dominance of algorithmic systems have not only accelerated scientific research but have also posed significant challenges to the philosophical foundations of science. This article aims to explore the relevance of the philosophy of science amid digital disruption by examining two major issues: the epistemological challenges to the status of scientific truth and the crisis of integrity in the scientific method. Using a conceptual-philosophical analysis, the study investigates the black box phenomenon in AI, which obscures scientific transparency, as well as the realities of the post-truth era and algorithm-driven echo chambers that shift the authority of truth from academic consensus to algorithmic amplification. Furthermore, the article highlights contemporary challenges to the integrity of the scientific method, including the difficulty of replicating studies based on dynamic datasets and the increasing prevalence of instant scientific fabrication. Drawing on Karl Popper's epistemology of falsification and Thomas Kuhn's theory of paradigm shifts, the study concludes that the philosophy of science should not remain a passive observer. In the digital age, it serves as an ethical and methodological compass as well as a critical safeguard for reforming the standards of validity, objectivity, and the demarcation of scientific knowledge to ensure the credibility and sustainability of science in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilization by students, the level of originality of academic assignments produced with AI assistance, the positive and negative impacts of AI use, and the efforts students make to maintain the originality of their academic work. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and a questionnaire (Google Form) distributed to 15 sixth-semester students of the Educational Technology Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar and 2 lecturers. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that ChatGPT and Gemini are the AI applications most frequently used by students, mainly to search for references, obtain initial information, and improve text structure at the early stage of assignment writing. The positive impacts of AI use include time efficiency, ease of generating initial ideas, and improved writing quality, while the negative impacts include the risk of technological plagiarism and potential dependency that may reduce students’ critical thinking when AI is used excessively. The originality of students’ academic work is generally still well maintained through concrete efforts such as reading and comprehending information before use, paraphrasing in their own words, comparing AI-generated information with valid books or scientific journals, and checking text similarity using Turnitin. Lecturers emphasized that AI should be positioned as a learning partner or supporting tool rather than a substitute for students’ independent thinking process.

Abstract

Traditional alcoholic beverages, especially tuak, remain a governance concern in Indragiri Hilir Regency because their circulation is closely connected with public order, social stability, and community protection. To respond to this issue, the local government issued Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2023 concerning Public Order, Public Peace, and Community Protection. This article analyzes how the regulation is carried out in controlling tuak circulation in Tembilahan District and identifies the conditions that influence its effectiveness. This research applied a descriptive qualitative method. Information was obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving Satpol PP officers, community figures, teachers, youth representatives, residents, and tuak sellers. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, organized data presentation, and verification of conclusions. The findings indicate that Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2023 has not yet been implemented optimally. Its effectiveness is still limited by several obstacles, including policy dissemination that has not reached all groups, restricted human and operational resources, uneven enforcement practices, and weak coordination among related institutions. Strengthening public education, institutional capacity, supervision, enforcement, and collaboration between government agencies and community actors is therefore necessary. This study enriches the discussion of public policy implementation in local contexts, particularly policies aimed at managing social problems and maintaining public order.
