Abstract

Based on the 2018 PISA report, the literacy and analytical abilities of Indonesian students are still very low. Poor literacy and analytical competence can be one of the factors that cause the low comprehension ability of Indonesian students in understanding and reading information. One method that has been proven to improve students' competence and skills, especially in analytical skills and increase students' curiosity is inquiry-based learning. Unfortunately, not all teachers have the pedagogical competencies needed to conduct inquiry learning. This problem is also seen in teachers in MTs. Nurul Huda Malang. Therefore, this community service activity is carried out to increase the capacity and pedagogical competence of teachers to improve the quality of learning that can trigger analytical attitudes in students. The implementation of service is carried out through several stages, namely: surveys and learning observations, training syllabus design, training implementation, and training evaluation. From the results of the implementation evaluation, it is known that the inquiry learning training is very useful and can be immediately applied by the teacher. In addition, there are other opportunities in the future to carry out training related to digital learning media needed by teachers in MTs. Nurul Huda Malang.

Abstract

The service team targeted the Malang Regency Tourism and Culture Office as the organizer of activities in the tourism sector. The main task of the Department of Tourism and Culture is tourism promotion. Therefore, it is hoped that the ARCA application can be part of a tourism promotion strategy in Malang Regency. Candi Jago is chosen as the object of this application because on the main terrace of the temple there are Reliefs about fables that contain moral values for tourists. With the ARCA Application, tourists do not need to hesitate anymore to be able to visit Candi Jago because ARCA can help tourists to read the Reliefs found on the main terrace with 3-Dimensional AR (Augmented Reality) media in the form of animated videos. The methods used are the online lecture method, the online question and answer method, and the online demonstration method. The results of the evaluation of the outreach, the ARCA application is still limited and available on the Play Store and cannot be downloaded on the App Store, because during the application trial, there were participants who asked why on their smartphone they could not download the application. Meanwhile, another obstacle is that your smartphone does not support being able to download the ARCA application because it requires an upgrade to the latest version.

Abstract

Quality education is a major need in the era of increasingly competitive global competition. One of the government's efforts to make quality education is to increase literacy culture. The content area literacy approach (content area literacy) is the basis for implementing community service activities. Content area literacy is the ability to use reading and writing skills to study subject matter in a discipline; teach skills that “beginners” might use to understand disciplinary texts; a set of learning skills that can be generalized across content areas. Area literacy (content area literacy) requires content area teachers to develop literacy skills for their discipline as well as be confident in their ability to teach and develop content as they use these skills. This mentoring is relevant for all science content area teachers in schools, school administrators, literacy and instructional coaches, school counselors, and others interested in teaching and learning. This mentoring activity, which is a form of PMPK lecturer dedication, was carried out at SD Negeri 3 Duvet, Malang. This activity is for teachers and education personnel in the school.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country with a diversity of cultures, ethnicities, and religions. On one hand, this diversity can be seen as a potential. But on the other hand, religious and ethnic diversity can sometimes cause friction in society. Currently, digital technology such as social media plays a role in maintaining and spreading conflicts related to diversity. Therefore, an effort is needed to create educational content related to inter-religious tolerance. One of them is through the branding of the tolerance village which can provide real examples related to people's lives with religious diversity. Wirotaman Village, Ampelgading, Malang Regency, which is known to have a community with religious diversity, is an appropriate target. Through community service activities, a team from Universitas Brawijaya invites youth who are members of Karang Taruna to brand Wirotaman Village as a village of tolerance. The service is carried out through training on the use of sosial media as a means of branding and the preparation of educational content regarding religious tolerance. The method applied is a participatory approach and interactive learning through training. As a result, the youth of Wirotaman Village are educated about the potential of Wirotaman Village, as well as the importance of using sosial media as a means of branding and village progress. In addition, the youth of Wirotaman Village also gain knowledge in content creation and social media management which they can use as a means of education, especially with regard to tolerance in society.

Abstract

As an educational institution, Islamic boarding schools are required to carry out significant acceleration and transformation. If in the past the scope of output was limited to the religious dimension, now pesantren graduates are expected to be able to contribute a lot in various aspects of people's lives. The development of applications in the field of information technology has a major impact in various fields of life, including in the creative industries such as printing, digital image processing and graphic design. This requires us to provide training to students so that they can follow developments and be able to use it for preparation after they graduate. Training on the use of these applications is important to equip students' creativity so that later when they leave the boarding school, they can develop these skills to be more independent. Even these skills can also equip students for entrepreneurship, so they can support their economy. Based on this reality, the MPK Center Community Service Team initiated to assist Islamic boarding schools in developing students' creativity through graphic design training. This is because the human resources owned by Islamic boarding schools in the field of graphic design are minimal or even non-existent. With the graphic design training, it is hoped that it can help pesantren in equipping students with skills so that their creativity is formed.

Abstract

Corruption is a form of extraordinary crime that has a very massive impact. Not only destroying economic stability and harming the people, corruption can also undermine all parts of the country. Therefore, eradicating corruption should be an important agenda in this country. The responsibility for eradicating corruption should also be carried out by all parties, not only by the KPK as a state institution that focuses on eradicating corruption. Various parties, ranging from the government, the private sector, organizations, to the entire community must also participate in eradicating and preventing corruption. So far, there are several approaches in the anti-corruption movement, one of which is through anti-corruption education. Anti-corruption education aims to prevent corruption by fostering and strengthening anti-corruption attitudes in society. One of the targets of anti-corruption education is students from elementary to high school levels. In this community service activity, the service team selected orphanage students in Dau District, Malang Regency, as targets for anti-corruption education. Anti-corruption education will be carried out through socialization with film screenings and inviting students to play three types of games, namely the “semai game”, “majo game”, and “puput LK game”. The results show that through the game, students more easily understand what actions are included in corruption and how to start practicing anti-corruption attitudes and values.

Abstract

Al Ishlahiyah Islamic Boarding School is the oldest Islamic boarding school in Singosari with a curriculum that is getting better every year. However, there is no mention of sexual education in the curriculum, even though cases of sexual violence don’t rule out the possibility of occurring in Islamic boarding schools. Based on the description of the situation analysis, the problems faced by partners are 1) a Low understanding of students on acts of sexual violence that may have been experienced by students, and 2) there has been no sexual violence mitigation training in Islamic boarding schools and on campuses. Based on the problems, several solutions were formulated namely 1) preparing digital literacy designs for sexual mitigation of students, 2) increasing the competence (cognitive, affective, psychomotor) of students in mitigating sexual violence, and 3) evaluating sexual violence mitigation training through digital literacy. In according with the PBL principle, the digital literacy training syllabus is prepared in the stage of understanding cases of sexual violence that have occurred at the boarding school, 2) the stage of training in making public texts with the theme of sexual violence through digital literacy, 3) the stage of training content creation in the form of public texts as sexual violence mitigation education, and 4) the training stage for disseminating the results of public texts through campaigns on social media. From these activities, it can be seen that 1)an increase in participant's understanding regarding sexual violence, responsive pathways for handling sexual violence, prevention of sexual violence, and anti-sexual violence campaigns in Islamic boarding schools, 2) Islamic Boarding Schools established a crisis center Islamic Boarding school as a form of advocacy and partisanship of Islamic boarding School on prevention and treatment sexual violence in Islamic boarding schools, and 3) there is an agreement (MoU) to develop an anti-sexual violence discourse with UPT PKM UB.

Abstract

Social media is the main source of information and advice for millennials. Social media interactions and the massive development of digital technology have proven to be black holes, but at the same time offer opportunities to make things easier for society. One of the negative impacts of using social media is the fading of tolerance values because SARA content has penetrated and flooded our social media. It is in this context that UPT PKM carries out community service through Digital Literacy Training, where one of the pillars is a digital culture that focuses on knowledge of tolerance values as the basis for digital skills in the life of a diverse society. Digital Literacy Training was held at SMK PGRI 3 Tlogomas, Malang. This event lasts for 2 days, namely on 2 and 3 August 2022. This activity is intended for students who are in the early semester intending to increase their skills and digital intelligence in social media based on tolerance values. There are several things that we do in the community service event, namely strengthening the understanding of tolerance values based on Nusantara culture (Pancasila values) through lecture and discussion methods. Then the students were also invited to understand the digital culture, and then they were persuaded to color social media with content that contained tolerance. The results of community service for two consecutive days can at least increase students' understanding and awareness of the importance of tolerance values in the real world and the virtual world.

Abstract

This community service program in Ngroto Village, Pujon District, Malang Regency aims to increase community understanding and skills in formulating rules for participating villages. This activity was launched to follow up on the results of a previous study on the obstacles to village code formation. In principle, the formation of a village order in Ngroto Village follows the path specified in Permendagri No. 111 of 2014 from the Technical Guidelines for the Village Law, however, sometimes the process of forming the village order encounters obstacles. The obstacles that arise are: (1) the identification of opportunities and problems as outlined in the draft village regulations is not precise, detailed and complete; (2) lack of direct participation from some communities in drafting village regulations; (3) the process of drafting village regulations took longer during the Covid-19 pandemic; (4) lack of socialization and knowledge of village officials' projects; and (5) the lack of dissemination of village regulations which were transferred to the RT/RW level. This non-profit activity is carried out through advocacy and facilitation methods. Finally, an ideal village can be created through optimal community participation in the village development process, where the village government leadership responds to the wishes and aspirations of the village community.
