Abstract

Indonesia faces a serious issue related to food waste, which is a significant problem in the economic, environmental and social sectors. Food waste accounts for a large part of the composition of waste in landfills and produces methane gas which contributes to the climate crisis. This community service activity partners with Garda Pangan, which is a movement that seeks to address the problem of food waste with a holistic approach, focusing on reducing food loss and food waste and providing access to food for the underprivileged. With various activities such as collecting donated food from food businesses, tackling food waste from major events, and conducting policy advocacy, Garda Pangan hopes to reduce the problem of food waste in Indonesia and create a society that is more aware of the importance of reducing food wastage for environmental sustainability and social welfare. . Through this webinar, Generation Z, represented by students, shows an increased awareness of food waste which is mostly produced by households and wishes to change habits to reduce the food waste they produce every day. In an effort to reduce food waste, the majority of respondents chose to reduce buying impulse snacks, while some also chose to bring food/drink containers to take the leftovers home if they didn't run out.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid growth of the fast fashion industry not only contributes to national income by absorbing a lot of labor but also creates waste problems which have negative impacts on the environment. Consequently, there is a need for upcycling efforts that aim to minimize waste and improve the economy of communities with low economic levels. Muharto Village, Malang City, is a densely populated area that has potential for implementing upcycling-based empowerment programs. The objectives of this research are: 1) Identify and explore the economic strength of the people of Muharto village, Malang City; and 2) Designing a long-term strategy to solve the fast fashion problems using the upcycling-patchwork method through the PATCHLYFE program. The research was conducted at RT 07 and 11, RW 06 V/B Muharto, Kotalama, Kedungkandang, Malang City. The theoretical basis used is sociopreneur theory. This research uses a mixed-method method by collecting data through questionnaires, interviews and assessing the socio-economic conditions of the Muharto area community. The research was analyzed using SWOT analysis and IE matrix followed by qualitative analysis through collecting, reducing, presenting data and drawing conclusions. From the results of this research, it was found that: 1) The economic strength of the Muharto community is relatively low, which is correlated with the low level of individual formal education and the high unemployment rate of the productive age population; and 2) PATCHLYFE as an empowerment strategy to utilize fast fashion waste through upcycling methods, holding disciplined training to increase the community's internal skills, and motivation so that empowerment can be carried out in a sustainable manner, collaborating with local government institutions, and providing programs that do not require difficult transportation. PATCHLYFE program is designed to consist of three stages: preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Abstract

Al Falah Islamic Boarding School was founded in 1989 as one of the first Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding Schools in Gorontalo consisting of Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Madrasah Aliyah. Based on data on daily activities carried out at the Al Falah Islamic Boarding School, it is still not visible that there are maximum literacy activities held every day, of course this has more or less had an impact on the scientific level of Al Falah students because literacy is one of the basic foundations of an educational activity. Good literacy activities can have an impact on good academic achievement and awareness of education. Literacy activities must of course implement a good system in all aspects of the activity, not least of which must be supported by adequate facilities. However, facilities in the form of infrastructure, especially reading books or other educational supporting books, are not yet fully available in the Al Falah library. This should be used as one of the Islamic boarding school's superior programs and as a culture that must be continuously developed and renewed. As a solution, community service was carried out using socialization method to the ustadz and ustadzah caretakers of the Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School to create a reading corner program as a means of literacy for students at Al Falah Islamic Boarding School. Not only reading corners, other literacy methods have also been designed in this community service program.

Abstract

Gunung Agung Village faces challenges in managing human resources, especially regarding knowledge and skills in digital production and marketing. The people in Gunung Agung Village still do not make maximum use of existing commodities, especially cassava. This ignorance can be seen from the fact that many residents still directly sell their cassava harvests to factories. The cassava commodity can actually be used to make various processed products. However, there is a lack of knowledge in the community, especially in Gunung Agung Village, in utilizing cassava commodities, so that cassava commodities are only harvested and then sold to factories. Through one of the Real Work Lecture activities, an approach was made to the community by making a presentation regarding the production of Dried Cassava Noodles with digital marketing strategies. The results of this activity show an increase in knowledge and skills of human resources in Gunung Agung Village in the production of processed cassava products, as well as marketing via digital platforms. This activity also has the potential to improve people's standard of living and strengthen the competitiveness of local processed products.

Abstract

The need for a literacy community forum by village communities in order to create a sustainable and resilient village is increasingly urgent. Therefore, recognition of the literacy movement of village communities is needed by utilizing existing social capital and social resources. Increasing public literacy is an effort to solve problems in the digital era which have an impact on the socio-economic side. Through this activity, it is hoped that community-based literacy communities will emerge and be initiated to develop village potential, which will ultimately have an impact on the resilience and welfare of community members. This activity was using the participatory action research method with direct involvement between the team and the target community. This activity has raised awareness among participants who are stakeholders in each Wonosari District Village regarding the importance of literacy as the key to solutions to village problems. Cognitively, participants already have knowledge of the steps to initiate a literacy community in each village, the ability to use the internet to search for accurate and credible sources of information, as well as the ability to utilize the internet and social media for the benefit of tourism and community entrepreneurship, and a channel for community voices.
