Abstract

This essay discusses the factors to consider when using formal language in scientific writing by students. Standard written language is commonly used in scientific studies. In the scientific community, standard language is a requirement. According to the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling (EYD), specific requirements must be fulfilled in writing, including the use of capital letters and italics, assimilation of foreign terms, correct word usage, word truncation, and avoiding word repetition.

Abstract

Several language variations have drawn support and criticism over time. Concerns about the effects on children, especially those related to cognitive and linguistic characteristics, have emerged with the proliferation of children's educational institutions using the Language Variety program. Those opposing these claims say that children will experience speech delay, but some research has produced contradictory findings. The purpose of this literature review is to explore how children participating in the Language Variety program in their school and everyday environment develop cognitively.

Abstract

Group guidance and counseling is one of the important services in schools. However, at SMP PAB 10 Medan Estate, the implementation of group guidance and counseling has encountered several obstacles. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze inhibiting factors that affect the implementation of group guidance and counseling at SMP PAB 10 Medan Estate. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results of the study show that there are several inhibiting factors that affect the implementation of group guidance and counseling at SMP PAB 10 Medan Estate, including lack of support from the school, lack of knowledge and skills of the BK teacher, as well as lack of participation and motivation of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the leadership of the school principal at MTs Al-Jihad Medan. The method used in this research is descriptive research using qualitative data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. The results found that leadership and education are two different things. Leadership itself means a main object that has an influence on other objects, while education is an effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students can absorb or acquire something new, whether it be knowledge or experience. In this opportunity, the researcher will discuss leadership in the integrated Islamic school education institution. In the Islamic education institution at Mts Al Jihad Medan, leadership plays an important role and has a great responsibility as the main driver and motivator for the organization it leads. In its leadership system, it must have its own role to facilitate the movement of leadership and also to facilitate the achievement of the leadership's vision and mission. Leadership will be considered successful if its leadership is directed according to the initial goals of the organization. So, both leadership and education are important and interesting things to discuss comprehensively, so that we can also have the attitude and knowledge of a leader, especially in the world of education.

Abstract

The standard words are words that follow the recognized language rules in Indonesian. Spelling, conventional grammar, and common dictionary words are just some of the linguistic norms that can be found in standard words. The purpose of this research is to ensure how students use common and uncommon words. This research is qualitative and descriptive. Students majoring in Indonesian Language Education at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra participated in the research. Based on the research findings, most students majoring in Indonesian Language Education at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra are able to understand standard and non-standard words, while very few cannot.

Abstract

Street children are primarily victims and a result of errors in the selection of a development model that has focused too much on growth and regional development in big cities.. Medan City is a metropolitan city in Indonesia facing the problem of a large number of street children. According to the Child Protection Regulation, the Medan Government stated that the number of street children in 2022 reached 550. Seeing the increasing number of street children in Medan and the various factors that cause children to become street children, the purpose of this research is to find out the background of street children choosing to work on the streets, the social relationships of street children, and the physical health of street children. The method used is quantitative descriptive research, which means this research describes a situation according to the actual events that can be interviewed, observed, and documented. Quantitative descriptive method is interpreted as a research method whose form of description is in numbers. From several locations in Medan City where children are used as places to earn money, in this research there are three points that are used as research locations, namely Pasar Raya MMTC, Terminal Aksara, and Alfamidi in Medan City. The results of the research show that poverty, parental pressure, social environment, low education, and the desire to have their own money are the factors behind street children in Medan. By working as street children, some street children have closed, indifferent, and lazy social relationships. The physical health of street children that the researcher observed shows that most street children experience skin irritation and are thin due to unhealthy eating patterns.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether the use of mobile phones can disrupt students' learning activities and to determine the handling usually given by guidance and counseling teachers. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method using data collection techniques, namely interviews and observations. The research subjects in this study are guidance and counseling teachers at MAN 2 Medan and 21 students at MAN 2 Medan. The results show that the use of mobile phones can disrupt students' learning activities but on the other hand, the teaching and learning process at MAN 2 Model is also somewhat assisted by technology in the form of mobile phones, such as providing materials, google forms, and instructional videos in certain subjects. The handling provided by guidance and counseling teachers is to provide information services for mild cases and for severe cases, guidance and counseling teachers will call the parents of the students.

Abstract

This article discusses effective HRM strategies in driving the growth of UMKM D'SRUPUT. UMKM D'SRUPUT faces various challenges, including tight market competition, changing consumer trends, limited resources, and difficulty in building a strong brand. In facing these challenges, effective HR strategies are key to improving business performance and growth. In order to optimize HRM strategies, visits to industries/UMKM D'SRUPUT are important to learn successful practices in supporting UMKM growth. The method used for data collection in this article is structured interviews with D'SRUPUT entrepreneurs in Karawang Regency. The results of the industrial visits to UMKM D'SRUPUT describe D'SRUPUT that focuses on the food and beverage sector established in 2019. In starting the business, D'SRUPUT faced challenges competing with longer-established competitors. The conclusion of this article is that effective HR strategies are highly relevant in driving the growth of UMKM D'SRUPUT, and the advice given includes the application of these strategies, the use of appropriate technology, continuous evaluation and improvement, as well as visits to industries/UMKM D'SRUPUT to learn best practices in supporting UMKM growth.

Abstract

Excellent human resources are highly needed in businesses or companies to achieve organizational or activity goals. The purpose of this observation is to determine the role of work experience in creating employee performance quality. The methods used are interviews, observations, and literature reviews. To achieve their goals and efforts, UMKM actors need experienced human resources. Mille Crepes Sinok Karawang is an UMKM that sells food, and this business requires employees who are skilled in cooking. If an employee has insufficient experience in their field, their work quality will be low and will impact the progress of the business, making it unproductive. The result of this observation is that if employees have work experience in their field, it will create good employee performance quality, knowledge, skills or mastery of the job, and a sense of responsibility, so the business does not stop because employees have previous experience, creating good performance quality and producing appropriate products.

Abstract

Cyber counseling media can be an effective tool in improving the quality of counseling services at MAN 3 Langkat School. This media can help students who are difficult to reach directly to get counseling, provide easy access, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of services, expand the reach of services, and increase security. However, in using cyber counseling media, it is necessary to pay attention to several things such as student data privacy and security, technology security, and applicable regulations. The school must ensure that cyber counseling services are carried out in compliance with professional ethics and applicable laws in Indonesia. In this case, cyber counseling media can help improve the quality of counseling services at MAN 3 Langkat School.
