Abstract

Abstract. One of the goals of learning mathematics in school is to improve the ability of problem solving, the student was required to have a higher thinking skills such as critical thinking skills. Use of appropriate critical thinking skills will greatly assist students in improving problem-solving abilities. In addition to critical thinking, another very important aspect to be improved in mathematics learning is positive views of students towards mathematics or known as mathematical disposition. Problem posing approach that requires students to ask questions and make the settlement is expected to be able to develop students 'thinking skills, especially critical thinking skills and mathematical change students' views of mathematics became more positive.  This study aims to assess the improvement of critical thinking skills and dispositions that are taught to students' mathematical problem posing approach and students are taught with conventional teaching. This study is a design experiment using pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study is the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh in the school year 2012-2013. Samples were taken two classes VII3 class as the experimental class and the class as a class VII4 control through random sampling technique. The instrument used to obtain research data is test critical thinking skills questionnaire sheet-scale mathematical and mathematical disposition. The statistical test used to analyze the data increase critical thinking skills and dispositions are mathematically ANOVA test two paths. The results showed that an increase in critical thinking skills and dispositions that are taught to students' mathematical problem posing approach better than students taught with conventional teaching. Keywords: Problem Posing Approach, Critical Thinking Mathematically, Mathematical Disposition.

Abstract

Materi matematika didominasi oleh hal-hal yang bersifat abstrak. Sementara tingkat berfikir siswa pada usia anak Sekolah Menengah Pertama masih banyak kendala mengenai berfikir abstrak. Untuk itu perlu diupayakan proses pembelajaran Limas disesuaikan dengan taraf berfikir siswa. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan Inquiri Based Learning (IBL) dan (2) respon siswa terhadap penerapannya. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 16 Banda Aceh terdiri dari empat rombongan belajar. Sampel sebanyak dua kelas yang dipilih secara random. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu: tes dan non tes (angket). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan siswa dikelas kontrol. Siswa di kelas eksperimen mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 78.66, sedangkan di kelas kontrol 68.57. Berdasarkan uji statistik menggunakan SPSS Ver 21 diperoleh bahwa Nilai sign (0,003) kurang dari 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol.  Respon yang diberikan siswa terhadap kegiatan belajar mengajar pada pembelajaran IBL secara keseluruhan adalah positif dan termasuk dalam kriteria respon sangat baik dengan rata-rata persentase respon siswa sebesar 97,4%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning outcomes using a mind mapping-based problem-based learning model to improve the ability to write narratives thematically with SPSS for Windows Version of the Standard 16.0 to find the N-gain value, normality of data distribution, test data homogeneity, and test research hypotheses. The normality test of the initial test of the two classes was normally distributed. The results of the homogeneity test of the initial test of the two classes were homogeneously distributed with sig. = 0.491>0.05, the average similarity test obtained a sig value of (2-tailed) = 0.538 > 0.05, which means that there is no differences before treatment, the test of the difference in the average N-gain of all students (control class with experimental class) obtained the Asymp Value. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000, so Sig. (1-tailed) = 0.000//2 = 0.001. 0.001 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that students skill to write narratives thematically who received learning using the problem base learning method based on mind mapping was better than students who received conventional narrative learning as a whole. Abstract

Mathematical communication skills is essential is owned by the student in the learning process, especially mathematics to solve mathematical problems that are non-routine and to convey thoughts, ideas and concepts in the form of mathematical symbols. Through communication students can convey their ideas, argues against any answers and provide feedback on the answers given by others, so that what is learned to be more meaningful. Therefore, it is very important to develop and improve mathematical communication in the learning process of mathematics. This study aims to assess the improvement of communication skills among students acquire mathematical learning and problem posing approach students who received conventional learning. This study was an experimental study using the design of pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP 1 Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar in the academic year 2016/2017. Samples were taken two classes, namely class VII-2 as an experimental class and class VII-1 as control class through random sampling techniques. The instrument used to collect research data in the form of mathematical communication ability test. The statistical test used to upgrade data of analyzed ability in mathematical communication is a two-lane Anova test. The results showed that the increase in mathematical ability of students who received learning by problem posing approach better than students who received conventional learning both overall and based on prior knowledge of students

Abstract

Tujuan dari pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dalam kurikulum 2013 adalah untuk mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa baik dalam bidang matematika, bidang lain, maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Bagi siswa, memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang tinggi akan sangat membantu mereka baik dalam proses pembelajaran matematika maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa maka harus didukung dengan proses pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir dan bernalar siswa, dimana salah satunya adalah pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan kemampuan awal siswa (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain pre-test post-test control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh pada tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Sampel diambil dua kelas yaitu kelas VII2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII3 sebagai kelas kontrol melalui teknik random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data penelitian berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Uji statistik yang digunakan untuk mengalisis data peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis adalah uji anava dua jalur yang diolah menggunakan bantuan software Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, baik ditinjau secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan kemampuan awal siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu aspek penting yang sangat diperlukan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran matematika terutama untuk membantu siswa menyelesaikan masalah-masalah matematika yang sulit (non-rutin). Hal ini dikarenakan penggunaan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang tepat akan sangat membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang diduga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis adalah pendekatan problem posing. Pendekatan problem posing yang mengharuskan siswa untuk mengajukan soal serta membuat penyelesaiannya, diasumsikan akan mampu mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir siswa terutama kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan problem posing dan siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Abstract

Elementary school is the main foundation in developing an understanding of mathematical concepts. If the basic understanding of students' concepts is not good or weak, students cannot solve math problems. Therefore, understanding the concept is essential to help students in learning mathematics. The teacher does not optimize the methods, strategies, or learning models in the learning process. So far, the learning process is only guided by explanations or examples of questions. As a result, when students are faced with different questions, students have difficulty solving problems. It happens because of the lack of students' conceptual understanding skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in the ability to understand the concept by using origami media through the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model. This study uses a quantitative approach, while the design used in this study is the Pre-Experiment One group pre-test and post-test design. The population in the study were all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 42 Banda Aceh, totaling 50 students, consisting of students in class VA-1 as the Experiment class, while in class VA-2 as the Control class. Based on the analysis of research data, it is stated that the significant value (2-tailed) N-Gain score is 0.000 less than 0.05, so H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the concept understanding ability and belief taught with origami media and through the TTW model with using conventional learning.

Abstract

Developing reasoning skills in the learning process of mathematics is very important because it is one of the main objectives of learning mathematics in schools. Students need reasoning skills to understand mathematical material, relate the material being studied with other materials or with everyday life. Posing problem approach that in the learning process requires students to ask questions and make the solution is expected to improve students' thinking and reasoning abilities. This study aims to examine the improvement of mathematical reasoning ability of students who gain learning through problem posing approach is better than students who obtain conventional learning both overall and student-level. This research used pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study is all students of class VII SMP IT Al-Azhar Banda Aceh in the academic year 2016/2017. Samples were taken two classes, namely class VII2 as experimental class and class VII1 as control class through random sampling technique. Instruments used to obtain research data in the form of tests of mathematical reasoning ability. The statistical test used to analyze improved mathematical reasoning abilities is a two-track anava test processed using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software assistance. The result of the research shows that the improvement of mathematical reasoning ability of students who get the learning through problem posing approach is better than students who get conventional learning either whole or student level. Abstrak Mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran dalam proses pembelajaran matematika sangat penting dilakukan karena merupakan salah satu tujuan utama dari pembelajaran matematika di sekolah. Siswa memerlukan kemampuan penalaran untuk memahami materi matematika, mengaitkan materi yang sedang dipelajari dengan materi lainya ataupun dengan kehidupan sehari-hari.
