Abstract

Ontology constitutes the philosophical foundation for shaping knowledge systems and managerial paradigms within Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to reconstruct the ontological basis of Islamic education management through philosophical-conceptual inquiry, focusing on the nature of being, leadership identity, and institutional development anchored in Islamic metaphysics. Using a qualitative–philosophical approach through conceptual analysis and hermeneutic textual interpretation, this study examines how the Islamic worldview of al-wujūd informs leadership behavior, institutional identity, and organizational culture. The findings indicate that Islamic education management transcends technical administration, functioning instead as an ontological practice rooted in tawhid, human existence, and the civilizational mission of education. Grounded in classical scholarship (Al-Ghazali, Ibn Khaldun) and contemporary Islamic philosophers (Nasr), Islamic management emphasizes metaphysical consciousness, ethical leadership, and mission-driven institutional development. This study contributes to strengthening the philosophical architecture of Islamic educational leadership and highlights the urgency of ontological literacy for institutional transformation.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited development of teaching materials integrating the Tri N philosophy of Ki Hadjar Dewantara (Niteni, Nirokke, and Nambahi) in science education, particularly for prospective elementary school teachers. The research aims to develop Tri N-based Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) and evaluate its feasibility and effectiveness in supporting science learning. A research and development (R&D) approach was employed using the 4D model, consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. Data were collected through validation questionnaires completed by subject matter and media experts, and analyzed quantitatively. The results indicate that the developed LKM achieved a very high validity score, with an average of 93%, categorized as highly feasible. Furthermore, effectiveness testing using a t-test showed a significance value of 0.02 (< 0.05), indicating a significant improvement in student learning outcomes in the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings suggest that Tri N-based LKM is effective in promoting active, meaningful, and contextual learning, and can enhance students’ understanding and engagement in science education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing nationalist values, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine the civic character of students at the Munzalam Mubaroka Islamic Boarding School. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by validity testing using triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the internalization of nationalist values is carried out systematically through habituation, role modeling, and various religious and social activities within the boarding school environment. Supporting factors include students’ internal motivation, the exemplary role of teachers and dormitory administrators, and community support, while inhibiting factors consist of low nationalism awareness among some students, external social influences, and limited facilities. Furthermore, the internalization process contributes to the development of students’ civic character, reflected in attitudes of tolerance, discipline, responsibility, social awareness, and patriotism. The study highlights that the integration of religious and national values in pesantren education plays a significant role in shaping students into responsible citizens who maintain both their religious identity and national commitment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept, objectives, functions, and strategic role of human resource planning in educational implementation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design through a literature review method. Data were collected from books, scientific journal articles, and relevant policy documents, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The results show that human resource planning is a strategic component in educational management that ensures the availability of qualified teaching and educational personnel in accordance with institutional needs. The process includes several interconnected stages, such as needs analysis, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluation. Effective planning can prevent mismatches between workforce availability and institutional demands, improve personnel professionalism, and enhance the effectiveness of educational management. Furthermore, human resource planning should not be viewed merely as an administrative activity but must be integrated with the vision, mission, and strategic development of educational institutions. Therefore, systematic and long-term oriented human resource planning is essential to improve educational quality and achieve national education goals.

Abstract

The development of digital technology demands the education world to adapt in creating learning processes that are innovative, engaging, and effective. However, in reality, the learning process in many schools is still dominated by conventional methods that tend to be teacher-centered, making them less able to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students. The low ability of students in certain aspects (for example: critical thinking, conceptual understanding, or literacy) is a problem often encountered in the field. This is caused by the lack of use of interactive and contextual learning media, resulting in students being less actively involved in the learning process. The existing learning media do not align with the curriculum and the learning needs of the students. The population in the study consisted of 3 schools totaling 60 students. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive manner. The results of the study are as follows. Multimedia Development of Interactive Learning There are several media in it, namely text, audio, visual, color, and animation and Multimedia interactive learning can improve children's early reading ability. The average score of the pretest was 70.7 and the average posttest was 95. It can be seen that the average score of children increased by 26% after using interactive learning multimedia. It was concluded that multimedia interactive learning can improve early childhood reading skills.

Abstract

Vocational higher education plays a strategic role in producing graduates whose competencies align with labor market demands. Nevertheless, discrepancies persist between the competencies of fashion graduates and the evolving requirements of the fashion industry due to shifting job roles and emerging skill demands. This study aims to map industry-required competencies, identify competencies possessed by D4 Fashion Technology students, and analyze the level of relevance between them. A mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was employed. Quantitative data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to division heads, managers, business owners in fashion companies, as well as students and alumni of the D4 Fashion Technology program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and open-ended questionnaire responses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic coding. The findings reveal that 133 competency items are required by the industry with six additional competencies identified, while students possess 136 competency items with nine additional competencies. The overall relevance level reached 98%, categorized as highly relevant. These results indicate strong alignment between vocational education outcomes and industry needs, while underscoring the importance of continuous curriculum evaluation and development.

Abstract

This multi-case qualitative study compares how organizational culture supports adaptation to Kurikulum Merdeka in two junior high schools in Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia: SMPN 6 Kurun in Kuala Kurun and SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kurun in Desa Penda Pilang. Seven internal actors participated. Data were generated through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document review, and analyzed using first-cycle coding and axial coding, supported by within-case memos and cross-case synthesis. The findings show two contrasting organizing logics. Implementation in SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kurun was shaped by feasibility-driven adjustments that protected instructional continuity under access and capacity constraints. Routines for attendance, scheduling, and documentation remained flexible so that evidence work did not displace teaching time. In SMPN 6 Kurun implementation relied on consolidation through scheduled supervision, role distribution, and routine monitoring that stabilized coordination and enabled more consistent follow-up using documents. The study contributes a mechanism-oriented explanation of reform adaptation by showing how sensemaking, coordination routines, and accountability artefacts translate policy expectations into daily practice.

Abstract

This study addresses the declining awareness of cultural identity among junior high school students, influenced by globalization and intercultural interactions in Lampung. To respond to this issue, the development of ethnopedagogy-based social studies (IPS) teaching materials integrating local wisdom and regional history was proposed. This study aimed to identify the gap between the teaching materials currently used in schools and the proposed teaching materials, as well as to analyze teachers’ and students’ responses toward the development of the product. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observations, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings revealed significant differences between conventional teaching materials and the ethnopedagogical materials to be developed, particularly in terms of integrating local cultural content. In addition, teachers and students responded positively to the proposed teaching materials. These findings indicate the importance of developing culturally contextualized learning resources to strengthen students’ local knowledge and cultural identity awareness, while supporting the improvement of social studies learning in junior high schools in Lampung.
