Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, with a focus on innovation and the effectiveness of using AI in improving the quality of learning. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving five Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Cirebon Regency, involving in-depth interviews with 15 PAI teachers and 50 students, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research results show that the application of AI provides significant benefits such as delivering more interactive material, personalizing learning according to student needs, and more efficient learning evaluation. In conclusion, the implementation of AI in PAI learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah can improve the quality of learning and student understanding, although its success depends on technological readiness, teacher training, and support from related parties. It is hoped that this research will become a reference for other madrasas in adopting AI to increase the effectiveness of PAI learning.

Abstract

At present, there is limited understanding of Pesantren (al-Ma’had al-Islāmi) as educational institutions that not only provide religious instruction but also incorporate economic and business education grounded in Islamic principles. The distinctiveness of Pesantren, particularly regarding their Islamic economic and business frameworks and practices, remains underexplored, leading to hesitance in articulating the methodologies employed, especially from an anthropological viewpoint. This journal article examines the anthropology of Islamic economic and business education and practices within Pesantren through the lens of Clifford Geertz. This paper aims to address existing scholarly uncertainties. The author employs a qualitative research methodology utilizing a naturalistic-phenomenological approach. The primary data source for this study is Geertz's anthropological analysis of Religion and Agricultural Involution in Java, Indonesia. The findings indicate that, from Geertz's anthropological perspective, Pesantren, referred to as santri circles, exhibit a close relationship with economic and business behavioral paradigms. This conclusion also addresses the gaps in the fundamental components of Pesantren anthropology, aligning with Martin van Bruinessen's assertion that these components include kyai, santri, pondok, yellow book studies, and educational practices within Pesantren. Furthermore, the elements of economic and business activities are integral to the civilization of Pesantren

Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) is a decentralized approach to school management that provides greater autonomy to schools to improve the quality of education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SBM in improving the quality of elementary schools. Using qualitative methods, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies in several elementary schools. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SBM has a positive impact on improving the quality of education. Schools that implement SBM are able to develop curricula according to local needs, increase community participation, and optimize the use of resources. Principals, teachers, and school committees have strategic roles in decision-making and school management, thus creating a more conducive and effective learning environment. However, the success of SBM is also influenced by factors such as the competence of the principal, cooperation between school residents, and support from the government and community. This study recommends increasing training for principals and teachers and increasing community involvement in the education process as important steps to optimize the implementation of SBM. Thus, SBM can be an effective strategy to improve the quality of elementary schools in a sustainable manner

Abstract

Management functions are the basic elements that will always exist and are inherent in the management process that will be used as a reference by managers in carrying out activities to achieve goals. Management functions were first introduced by a French industrialist named Henry Fayol in the 20th century. The management functions of Islamic education in the review of the Qur'an are divided into: 1) Planning, 2) Organizing, 3) Mobilizing, 4) Evaluation (Control). Good planning, efficient organizing, effective direction, and careful control are important elements in the management of educational institutions. By implementing these management functions properly, educational institutions can provide quality education and make a positive contribution to the development of society and individuals. In implementing management functions, educational institutions can ensure that their operations run efficiently and effectively to achieve quality educational goals.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of a transdisciplinary approach in Islamic education, with a focus on its integration with contemporary global challenges, such as social, environmental, and technological issues. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data is collected from a variety of secondary sources, such as books, journal articles, and official documents. Data analysis was carried out thematically to find patterns and relationships between transdisciplinary approaches and Islamic education. The focus of the research is the theoretical exploration of transdisciplinary education in the Islamic context. The findings show that the transdisciplinary approach at Sakinah Circle successfully integrates various disciplines such as science, mathematics, history, and language with Qur'anic values. Each theme taught, such as "Water" and "Samawat", provides a holistic learning experience, combining scientific, spiritual, and ethical dimensions. This approach prepares students to face contemporary challenges by fostering intellectual and spiritual development simultaneously. This research highlights the important role of a transdisciplinary approach in modernizing Islamic education to confront global issues such as environmental sustainability and social inequality. The study also demonstrates the need for institutional support in implementing this approach, as well as suggesting that transdisciplinary learning can enhance critical thinking skills, creativity, and collaboration in the context of Islamic education. This research makes an original contribution by linking the transdisciplinary approach to Islamic education, emphasizing its potential in bridging the gap between traditional religious teachings and the demands of the 21st century. This research offers a new perspective on how Islamic education can evolve to face global challenges while maintaining its core values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of Islamic Religious Education teachers regarding the use of WhatsApp as an online learning platform. Using a mixed parallel convergent research method, this research collects quantitative data through surveys, while qualitative data is obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. This study shows that students in teacher certification programs in Indonesia are heavy users of WhatsApp, as evidenced by 97% of quantitative research respondents spending more than 4 hours per day for academic purposes. With an average standard deviation value of 0.816, this study confirms that students' perceptions of WhatsApp positively impact academic achievement. This is reasonable because they see WhatsApp as having flexibility not limited by place and time; features that are easy to use, integrated with lecture support software; and a fairly strong data security system. In implementing the certification program, WhatsApp's advantages are used to support the success of online classes, such as group discussions, sharing educational knowledge, sharing references, and finding academic agendas. This study also shows that WhatsApp can encourage of Islamic Religious Education teachers to have collaborative skills in teams. However, WhatsApp is still not maximized due to the absence of features for conducting evaluations, a poor learning management system, and the internet in Indonesia, which is not evenly distributed. These findings can be used as a basis for the government to improve the quality of online learning through WhatsApp. Because of its important role in the teacher certification program, we expected that Islamic religious education teachers can use the features in WhatsApp to optimize their use in the academic world

Abstract

The realization of students who have the Pancasila Student Profile is the goal of the current government. The rise of the three big sins of education, intolerance, and lack of discipline in the environment of elementary school students is a threat to the disintegration of basic education from within. The government is trying to present Pancasila Student Profile learning through various learning media, one of which is through the open book of PAI and Budi Pekerti. The novelty of this research is that it tries to find the values of the Pancasila student profile in PAI and character education textbooks. The purpose of this study is to examine the content of the Pancasila student profile in PAI textbooks used in high schools. This research method uses a qualitative design of literature study. The data sources of this study are divided into two categories: primary and secondary. Primary data sources come from the triangulation process of high school PAI student books, high school PAI teacher books, and regulatory documents regarding PAI learning in high school. While secondary data sources come from several relevant journals. The collected data were then analyzed in accordance with the stages of content analysis. The findings of this study indicate that Pancasila student profiles in PAI textbooks in high school have the most information, especially the dimensions of faith, devotion to God Almighty, and noble character. The values of each Pancasila student profile are explicitly and implicitly stated in each chapter of the PAI textbook. This study emphasizes that Islamic Religious Education, as one of the subjects mandated by the government, encourages the birth of students who have Pancasila student profiles. The implication of this research suggests that in the future teachers can find out the content of the Pancasila student profile in Islamic Education textbooks so that they can teach the content of the Pancasila student profile optimally
