Abstract

Every student should have the ability to organize ideas rationally and methodically, transform them into understandable language, and speak them fluently and clearly. The purpose of this research was to investigate the efficacy of employing the Socratic discussion technique in group counseling to improve interpersonal communication. This is a quasi-experimental study with a single-group design. The sample size was seven participants, and data was collected using a communication skills questionnaire and evaluated using the T-test. The analysis revealed a Sig (2-tailed) paired samples test result of 0.000 where the result was <0.05, indicating that group counseling services using the technique of Socratic dialogue have an effective impact on developing students' communication skills.

Abstract

Affair becomes one of traumatic events for an individual which can cause stress. The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of self-compassion on posttraumatic growth on affair victim (the wife) with resilience as the moderation variable. This research employed quantitative method and the collected data were then processed statistically by using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). This study involved 100 victims of infidelity. The instruments used are self-compassion scale, posttraumatic growth scale; resilience. The research result proved that self-compasstion was sufficient to help increasing posttraumatic growth on the wife who becomes a victim of an affair.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the skills and proficiency of Islamic Education Counseling Guidance students in using basic counseling skills in individual counseling sessions. This research uses qualitative research methods with Case Studies research design with multiple case studies. The data collection technique used by the researcher is a purposive sample in data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that Islamic Education Counseling Guidance students used thirteen basic counseling skills: attending, reflection, exploration, confrontation, open-ended questioning, closed-ended questioning, leading, focusing, tentatively concluding, clarifying, facilitating, concluding, and closing. Some basic counseling skills have not been used, such as paraphrasing, minimal encouragement, interpretation, directing, silence, taking the initiative, advice, and information. What carried out the evaluation results after the individual counseling session ended, the counselee was satisfied with the service, and they said they felt helped. The service process provided by the counselor to the counselee will be much more optimal if the counselor or prospective counselor continues to improve their competence and uses all the basic counseling skills that exist in the assistance process.

Abstract

The high academic challenges for high school students make many students unable to adapt to live an academic life. The ability to have academic buoyancy is essential for students to be able to adapt to overcome academic challenges. This study aimed to determine the application of group guidance services using the achieving success everyday model to develop students' academic buoyancy. The research uses a qualitative approach which is specifically directed at the use of the simple case hermeneutic method which describes and comprehensively explains various aspects of a group, and qualitative phenomena (language, text, communication, meaning, and experience). The results of the study show the steps of the Achieving Success Everyday (ASE) Model Group Guidance process to develop academic Buoyancy for Students, which include: 1) Assessment phase 2) Review phase 3) Introduction phase 4) Challenge phase 5) Empowerment and development phase 6) Support phase.

Abstract

Self-esteem ability is really needed based on the data from the distribution of the instrument, there are 61.6% of students who do not love themselves and have low self-esteem abilities and 90.4% feel the need for efforts to increase self-esteem abilities The aim of this study was to produce a method of counseling services that can increase individual self-esteem. This research used research and development methods or "Research and Development" (R&D). The population of this study was the students of UIN Raden Intan Lampung. This study used descriptive data analysis techniques. The findings were the video self-instruction method could increase self-esteem with the results of the content expert test with a score of 4.875 and it implied that it was "very feasible" and the media expert test with a score of 4.625 implied "very feasible" and the validity test could increase self-esteem by 48 ,75%. In conclusion, the video self-instruction method could be used by counselors to increase self-esteem in providing guidance and counseling services both face-to-face and bravely so as to simplify and improve service quality.

Abstract

The rapid growth and change in the world has encouraged the use of technology in various fields, including education and learning. Guidance and counseling in schools as part of the education system in Indonesia, uses technology to improve the quality of its services to students. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of using PowerPoint films and media in increasing students' awareness about sexual harassment through group guidance. Action research methods with one group pre-test and post-test and descriptive analysis were used to support the analysis of the results in this study. A total of fifteen students participated in this study. The results showed that the use of films and PowerPoint was effectively applied in group counseling services to increase students' awareness of sexual harassment.

Abstract

Learning media is an inseparable part of learning activities. In addition to being needed when delivering lessons, the media is even needed in the implementation of guidance and counseling services so that the intentions in these activities can be conveyed properly to students. The purpose of this study is to clarify the use of media that is often used to practice speaking skills, speaking chips, as a solution to develop group dynamics in group guidance and counseling services. The existence of group dynamics is one indicator of success in group guidance and counseling services. The research method used is library research, which is carried out by interpreting several data sources such as books and journals or relevant scientific articles. The result of this research is that speaking chips media can be used to encourage students to actively communicate and interact in groups so that the dynamics of group guidance and counseling services develops. In contrast to previous studies that discussed techniques and methods in group guidance and counseling services, this research focuses on developing group dynamics as an important part of group services

Abstract

Children with selective mutism generally have difficulty in social communication and communication in class which ultimately affects their academic grades. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to help students who experience selective mutism, especially at school. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using stimulus fading techniques and economic tokens in improving speaking skills in students with selective mutism. This study used a single-subject design with the subject of a 7-year-old male student who is in grade 1 of elementary school and has selective mutism. The results of the intervention showed an increase in the number of subjects' speaking ability wherein the baseline condition 1 subject spoke 3 times and at baseline 2 subjects managed to speak 21 times. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of stimulus fading techniques and economic tokens can improve the subject's speaking ability, especially in answering the teacher's questions and imitating the teacher's instructions.

Abstract

Corruption is a corrupted character and appears in certain politicians. Mental corruption in developing countries requires harsh sanctions, although it doesn’t provide a deterrent effect to the emergence of other corruptors in Indonesia. Imprisonment sanctions as long as possible can provide a religious experience so that the emergence of life changes. This article aims to analyse the spiritual experiences that have changed the lives of former corrupt convicts. Documentation study through the analysis of youtube videos from interviews with former corruption convicts who just got out of prison. The research subject is one woman—qualitative analysis as the basis for the emergence of various dimensions of religious experience. The study results found three basic dimensions of the emergence of spiritual experiences affective, cognitive, and behavioural. Religious experience in the affective dimension changes life with a process of acceptance, awareness, regret/mistake, gratitude, and sincerity—spiritual expertise with a cognitive size through self-belief and life lessons that can change lives. Religious experience also raises behavioural dimensions so that individuals can control themselves, be confident, and dare to act. These three dimensions serve as provisions for policymakers to internalise the anti-corruption character.

Abstract

Counselors become adaptive individuals to changes that exist, even though they occur so quickly. One of them is that the COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the implementation of the counseling program in schools. The implementation of the counseling program in schools is expected to be able to accommodate the needs of students to be able to solve complex problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is evaluation research with a discrepancy evaluation model approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the counseling program in schools based on predetermined standards. The implementation of this research is an evaluation with the research population being teacher guidance and counseling at the junior high school level in Malang Regency with a focus on implementing counseling programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research instrument is based on performance-based professional teacher evaluation guidelines on the third aspect of the fifth criterion. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively and percentages to determine the implementation of the counseling program during the pandemic. The results show that counselors can adapt well to changes due to the covid-19 pandemic. This condition is indicated by the counselor starting to use technology in counseling (cybercounseling) to overcome the problems that occur so that they can carry out the program on a scheduled and limited basis in accordance with the health protocol rules. The follow-up results are recommendations to counselors for the implementation of future counseling programs.
