Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the teacher coaching model in improving students' Qur'an reading ability at MTs Istiqomah Muara Teweh, North Barito Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, testing, and data validation through triangulation techniques. From the results of the study, the coaching model chosen is the Tartil model, which uses the Iqro method and the ummi method in accordance with the method mastered by the teacher and the suitability for students. There are three main stages in the implementation of coaching, which include the opening session, the core session, and the closing session, with an emphasis on proper pronunciation, the law of tajweed, and reading fluency. Supporting factors for coaching success include motivation and support for students and adequate infrastructure, while the main obstacles come from a lack of coaching time and fluctuations in students' emotions. A 24-day trial involving nine grade VII A students showed that eight students experienced significant improvements in Qur'anic reading ability, especially in the legal aspects of reading, and proper short duration (mad). This study concludes that a teacher coaching model that is structured and adjusted to the level of ability of students in an organized manner can improve students' ability to read the Qur'an in accordance with the rules of tajweed

Abstract

This research explores the concept and implementation of inclusive religious education within the framework of a democratic and multicultural society in Indonesia. As a country with diverse religions, ethnicities, and cultures, Indonesia faces both opportunities and challenges in strengthening tolerance through education. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review and case analysis in selected schools, the study examines how inclusive practices are integrated into religious education. The findings reveal that inclusive religious education significantly contributes to fostering tolerant character among students, improving interfaith understanding, and strengthening social harmony. Nevertheless, the study identifies several obstacles, such as limited teacher training in multicultural competence, inadequate teaching resources, and the insufficient integration of democratic values in the curriculum. The paper emphasizes that inclusive religious education will only be effective if supported by a strong policy framework, curriculum reform, and comprehensive teacher preparation. Therefore, this research recommends improvements in curriculum development, teacher education, and government policy to ensure that students are nurtured in an environment that cultivates tolerance, respect, and democratic values in a multicultural context

Abstract

This research is motivated by the urgent need for a school leadership model capable of integrating the values of Faith and Piety (IMTAQ) with student achievement improvement in the modern era, which tends to emphasize cognitive aspects. The purpose of this study is to analyze and deeply understand the principal's leadership practices in implementing an IMTAQ-based vision at Al-Khatibiyah Senior High School in Bangkalan. The research approach employs a qualitative method with an intrinsic case study design focusing on the specific context of one Islamic educational institution. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation study, and validated through source and method triangulation. The research results show that the principal implements spiritual transformational leadership through moral exemplification, participatory involvement, and the ability to inspire school members to internalize IMTAQ values. Flagship programs such as Musabaqah Hifdzil Qur'an (MHQ), religious studies, and the integration of religious values in learning have proven to contribute to improving students' academic achievement and character. The novelty of this research lies in strengthening the concept of IMTAQ-based spiritual transformational leadership that integrates religious, pedagogical, and managerial dimensions comprehensively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and formulate the Islamic Reflective-Collaborative Model (RKI) as a concept for developing the professionalism of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in Klojen District, Malang City. This model stems from the low practice of reflection and peer collaboration in facing the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum and the digital era. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with phenomenological methods to explore the meaning of teachers' experiences in developing their professional competencies. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with participants including junior and senior high school PAI teachers, principals, and PAI supervisors. Data analysis used the Miles & Huberman interactive model, with validation through source and technique triangulation. The research findings reveal four main discoveries: self-reflection, peer reflection, interdisciplinary collaboration based on Islamic values, and spirituality internalization. The resulting RKI Model is conceptual in nature, emphasizing the integration of reflection, collaboration, and religious values as the foundation for PAI teacher professional development. This research has implications for strengthening theory, participatory training policies, and the formation of reflective communities in Islamic educational environments

Abstract

This research aims to describe the internalization of discipline character values through the Tahfidzul Qur'an program at SD Ummu Aiman Lawang in 2025. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method focused on three main aspects: planning, implementation, and program evaluation. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the school principal, tahfidz teachers, and students. The research results show that the internalization of discipline values is carried out systematically through school policies, habituation of religious activities, and teacher role modeling in building a culture of discipline. Discipline values are reflected in time management, responsibility for memorization, and consistency of student attendance in tahfidz activities every morning. Evaluation is conducted formatively and summatively with an emphasis on character formation, not just on memorization achievement. The findings of this research confirm that the tahfidz program has a significant contribution to the formation of discipline character in elementary school students based on Islamic values and provides implications for the development of character education in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study explores the collaborative model between teachers and parents in shaping the religious character of elementary school students in the digitalization era. The research is situated within the broader discussion of character education, which emphasizes the integration of moral values, religious practice, and family–school partnership. The purpose of this study is to examine the forms, processes, and effectiveness of collaboration between teachers and parents in strengthening students’ religious character through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SDIT Al-Maadin. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that teachers play a central role as moral role models (uswah hasanah) by integrating religious values into daily learning activities, establishing routines of prayer, Qur’an recitation, and moral habituation. Parents, on the other hand, act as partners who reinforce school-based religious practices at home through monitoring, guidance, and communication facilitated by the student handbook and WhatsApp groups. The study shows that digitalization does not require sophisticated technological tools; instead, it highlights the strategic use of simple digital communication to strengthen family–school synergy. Collaboration between teachers and parents results in the development of students’ religious character across three domains: aqidah–ibadah, moral conduct, and social values. The study concludes that consistent coordination and shared responsibility between school and family significantly enhance students’ religious character, though challenges remain in ensuring consistent home practices amid varied parenting patterns and digital distractions. Future research may examine comparative models across different school settings or explore parental digital literacy in greater depth

Abstract

This extracurricular recitation of the Qur'an was held at Muhammadiyah 7 Junior High School Medan because students had difficulty in reading the Qur'an, so the school took the initiative to hold a Qur'an recitation program. The school thinks that using the rhythm of songs in reading the Qur'an can make it easier for students to understand the Qur'an and the reading becomes more beautiful. In this research on Qur'an recitation, there is the ASKADIMEGA method (What, Who, When, Where, Why, and BaGAimana). This study aims to find out the optimization of the ASKADIMEGA method, the obstacles and solutions faced, as well as evaluation. The informants in this study are the vice principal, extracurricular teachers of Qur'an recitation, students who participate in extracurricular recitation of the Qur'an, the school environment, and things that support the research. This study uses qualitative methods, data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation, and data analysis using Miles and Huberman. The results of this study can be concluded that there are 75% of students who are good and correct in reading the Qur'an and can even sing it according to the predetermined rhythm, and have given birth to a generation of qori and qori'ah who have won competitions at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the human resource management system (HR) at the Daar El Qolam 3 Islamic Boarding School in Tangerang as a model of modern Islamic education management that integrates spiritual values with the principles of professionalism. This research focuses on three main aspects: (1) the management of teaching and education personnel, (2) the management of students through an integrated education and parenting system, and (3) the management and empowerment of alumni as part of the sustainability strategy of the Islamic boarding school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies of internal documents of the pesantren, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model.  The findings show that HR management at Daar El Qolam 3 operates in a systematic and value-based manner. Faculty management is carried out through selective recruitment, training, competency certification, and performance evaluation based on moral and spiritual values. Student management is carried out in an integrative manner, combining academic education and character development through the MUMTAZA student organization as well as leadership and social programs. Alumni management is carried out through IKADEQ, an alumni organization that functions as a platform for collaboration and strengthening academic, social, and international networks with foreign universities.  This study concludes that the success of HR management in Daar El Qolam 3 is supported by the internalization of Islamic values such as sincerity, simplicity, brotherhood, and responsibility into the modern managerial system. This model increases the attractiveness and competitiveness of Islamic boarding schools in the global era and serves as a reference for other Islamic educational institutions in building professional, spiritual, and sustainable human resource management.

Abstract

The use of podcasts in Islamic Religious Education remains minimal, especially at the junior high school level. Many children find learning with infrequently changing media boring. Most Islamic Religious Education teachers still rely on the lecture method as their primary approach, with limited and less varied use of learning media. This situation has implications for low student engagement and interest in learning, particularly because Islamic Religious Education material is often perceived as abstract and overly theoretical. The purpose of this study was to determine how the use of podcasts as a learning medium impacts students' learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 1 Sitinjo and their ability to communicate. This study employed a quantitative methodology and a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. Two classes participated in this design: an experimental class using podcasts and a control class using conventional methods. The questionnaires on learning outcomes and communication skills of the study were tested for validity and credibility. To analyze the data, MANOVA, ANCOVA, and independent t-tests were used, and SPSS was used. The results showed that podcasts significantly influenced students' learning outcomes and communication skills, with a partial eta squared value of 0.564. Therefore, podcasts are considered an innovative learning option that encourages active student participation, improves material understanding, and enhances their communication skills in Islamic Religious Education learning in the digital era.

Abstract

The integrative approach in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Learning is a paradigmatic response to the challenges of disintegration of knowledge, educational dualism, and the reduction of spirituality that are still emerging in modern educational practices. This research aims to comprehensively examine the philosophical, conceptual, and implementive foundations of the integrative approach in PAI learning, as well as formulate operational models that are relevant to the needs of 21st century learning. This research uses a literature method with themetical-critical analysis of various classical and contemporary Islamic literature, national education policies, and empirical research related to the integration of knowledge. The results of the study show that the integrative paradigm rests on the epistemology of monotheism which views religious science and general science as a complementary unit, not a dichotom. The implementation of an integrative approach in PAI learning results in three main forms: concept integration, value integration, and pedagogical action integration. All three have been proven to increase the relevance of learning, depth of understanding, and internalization of Islamic values through contextual and holistic learning. This study concludes that an integrative approach is not just a methodological choice, but a strategic need to build an adaptive, moderate, and spiritual character strengthening Islamic education ecosystem.
