Abstract

ABSTRACT Scavangers are often categorized as non-elite and marginal occupation in society. However, it’s still chosen by people as their main job. This phenomenon start to increases every year not only in the big city but also in second-largest city especially Denpasar. This research has several purpose, as following: identify scavenger’s walfare rate, get differencies between male and female scavenger, analyse socio-demography and activity impact on its walfare, and analyse indirect effects of socio-demography on it’s walfare especially in Denpasar City. The primary data were obtained by doing direct interviews and giving questioners to 100 scavangers in Denpasar City. The secondary data were obtained from Department of Public Works Bali and Department of Cleanliness and Landscaping Denpasar. The sampling technique that is used in this research is non-probability sampling with accidental sampling. The data were analysed using descriptive and PLS analysis. The results show that scavengers are dominated by male whose age between 30-49 years old. Most of them are married (21-30 years of marriage) and have two childs.  Furthermore, most of them also are migrant who live in Denpasar less than 5 years and have unfinished primary school background. Scavangers mostly use less than Rp 500.000,- to travel between 61 – 175 metres in 41-60 hours. By receiving an income less than Rp 1.000.000,- , they assume that they can cover their family living cost.  Moreover, this research reveals that there is a difference between male and female in case of the income. It also finds that socio-demography and economy activities have positive significant impacts on scavenger life. In addition, economy activities have a significant impact on connecting the socio-demography to scavenger welfare in Denpasar. Therefore, some health socialisation and creativity workshops are worth to be done to increase the scavenger’s welfare rate.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of worker attitudes, subjective norms and behavioral control toward Intention to Comply on the policy of implementation Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (K3L). Respondents in this study were all employees and construction workers on the project Watermark Hotel & Spa Bali at Jalan Raya Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Bali, filmed contractor PT. Hutama Regional Office IV Bali, NTB, and NTT. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique, researcher have consideration, that the workers who made the respondents are the workers whose jobs are directly related to the operational activities in the field of this project. The respondents amounted to 105 people. The research instrument used questionnaires and analysis techniques used were multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the attitude of the workers in the implementation of safety policies in a positive and significant effect on Intention to Comply, subjective norm, and a significant positive effect on Intention to Comply, and control the behavior of workers and significant positive effect on Intention to Comply. Implications of research namely, the theory of planned behavior (TPB) is determined by beliefs held by individuals, depending on the knowledge and control of the control that. Control control factors consist of internal and external. TPB only focus on individual psychological determinants. Attitudes may also be influenced by demographic factors. Thus, it becomes a very important factor to be considered in future research. Not all research topics can be implemented and tested by TPB, associated with different problems.

Abstract

Returns and profitability is the target to be achieved by all companies. Many things affect the return of which is the exchange rate. The research is aiming to determine the effect of the exchange rate on stock returns in the stock exchanges of Indonesia hospitality industry with profitability as an intervening variable The population in this research are all the companies in the hospitality industry are listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2012-2013. The data is analyzed by path analysis (path analysis), supported by SPSS version 17.0 The results of this study shows  that: (1) exchange rate negative effect on the profitability of return while positive impact on return. (2) the effect of the exchange rate returns through greater profitability than the direct effect of exchange rate on return. Recommended for  future research to increase the variables that affect the return and also expand the sample to the research results could be better.

Abstract

Pasar sangat berkaitan dengan Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) guna menunjang pembangunan perekonomian suatu daerah. Peran pasar tradisional dari waktu ke waktu semakin menurun hingga sekarang. Berkurangnya peran pasar tradisional akan mengakibatkan hilangnya lapangan pekerjaan untuk masyarakat dengan perekonomian menengah ke bawah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) untuk menganalisis tingkat efektivitas pelaksanaan program revitalisasi pasar tradisional yang dilaksanakan di Pasar Agung Peninjoan Desa Peguyangan Kangin dan 2) untuk menganalisis tingkat daya saing Pasar Agung Peninjoan Desa Peguyangan Kangin setelah program revitalisasi pasar tradisional. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah 1) terdapat peningkatan pendapatan setelah pelaksanaan program revitalisasi pasar tradisional yang dilaksanakan di Pasar Agung Peninjoan Desa Peguyangan Kangin, pelaksanaan program revitalisasi pasar tradisional yang dilaksanakan di Pasar Agung Peninjoan Desa Peguyangan Kangin termasuk dalam kategori sangat efektif dan 2) terdapat peningkatan daya saing setelah pelaksanaan program revitalisasi pasar tradisional yang dilaksanakan di Pasar Agung Peninjoan Desa Peguyangan Kangin.
