Abstract

This study aims to determine the Islamization of the science of Syed Naquib Al-Attas as a process of human liberation from magical, mythological, animistic, national-cultural traditions, and control of reason and language. The authors use the descriptive-analytic methods for library data that is relevant to the object of research. The results of this study indicate that the Islamization of the Syed Naquib Al-Attas science is an academic response in order to criticize the development of modern Western science which is considered to have fundamentally damaged the order of life. Al-Attas criticized the Western world view which had deified rational-empirical so that it is assumed that things that are supernatural and not visible to the human senses are something that cannot be trusted.

Abstract

Chronic malnutrition and stunting among Indonesian schoolchildren significantly impair cognitive development, attendance, and academic performance. The Free Nutritious Meals (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) Program, launched in January 2025 under Indonesia's National Medium-Term Development Plan, addresses these challenges to support Sustainable Development Goal 4. This study examines implementation challenges and opportunities of the MBG program in improving basic education quality, emphasizing child well-being and gender equity. A qualitative systematic literature review analyzed policy documents and academic literature on school feeding interventions. Critical challenges include regulatory gaps, logistical inefficiencies, food safety concerns, suboptimal nutritional standards, administrative burdens, budget misallocation, weak inter-sectoral coordination, infrastructure deficits, limited capacity, and community resistance. However, significant opportunities exist: enhanced nutritional status, improved attendance and achievement, empowerment of local enterprises, and nutrition curriculum integration. The program holds substantial potential if addressed through comprehensive regulation, GPS-enabled management systems, rigorous monitoring, community engagement, and curriculum integration. Future research should employ longitudinal mixed-methods designs with international comparative frameworks to evaluate long-term effectiveness on child welfare and gender equity outcomes.

Abstract

Throughout history, humans have always sought to achieve happiness and avoid suffering through various means, including religion, which constructs the souls of its adherents into perfect individuals, one of which is through the medium of religious music. This study examines in depth the role of shalawat hadrah music as a medium for soul transformation in elementary school-aged children, especially in Yogyakarta, where this phenomenon is increasingly popular as Islamic entertainment that not only entertains but also supports their spiritual, emotional, and cognitive development. A qualitative approach was applied with a purposive sampling technique to the main subjects, namely hadrah-maniacal children, their parents, and the surrounding community. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews and participant observation, while secondary data from literature studies were validated through source triangulation to ensure validity, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results reveal that shalawat hadrah music combines its historical function as a means of da'wah since the 13th century with significant contemporary benefits, such as the maturation of the right-left brain balance to increase emotional sensitivity and social interaction skills, strengthening solidarity between people through increasing the enthusiasm for learning and reciting the Koran, inspiring feelings of deep love for God and the Prophet Muhammad Saw, as well as spiritual entertainment that organically instills the values of monotheism, noble morals, and religious awareness from an early age.
