Abstract

Analyzing students' involvement in teachers' teaching reflection can offer valuable insights into the effectiveness of classroom instruction. By encouraging students to participate in the reflection process, teachers can gain a better understanding of their strengths and areas for improvement. This study aimed to investigate students' involvement in teachers' teaching reflection and its impact on classroom. The participants of this study were 20 students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah NW Sikur. This study used qualitative descriptive research approach. There are two sorts of data sources in qualitative research: primary resources and secondary resources. The result revealed that students generally responded positively to being involved in teachers' teaching reflection. In conclusion, the analysis of students' involvement in teachers' teaching reflection and its impact on the classroom highlights the significant role students can play in shaping effective teaching practices and fostering a conducive learning environment.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the correlation between students' reticence, motivation, and their speaking habits which effected their speaking skills. The method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population was the eleventh-grade students of MA NW Montong Kubur comprising one class with a total of 35 students. The researcher used the total sampling method, in which all eleventh-grade students became respondents. Data collection was done through questionnaire and speaking test. The results showed that the correlation coefficient between students' speaking anxiety and their speaking achievement was r=0.312. Although these two variables have a negative correlation, the value of r=0.312 can still be classified as a significant correlation. Furthermore, the correlation coefficient between students' motivation and their speaking habits was found to be r=0.032. This means that there is a positive relationship between these variables, but the value of r=0.032 indicates a low correlation. Finally, the results showed that the correlation coefficient between students' speaking reticence, motivation, and speaking habits was r=0.105 which means that these three variables have a positive correlation, although the value of 0.105 indicates a very low level of correlation.

Abstract

The most difficult ability to learn is speaking. Thus, it is essential to understand speaking psychological problems during the teaching and learning process. The researchers used a descriptive quantitative method to conduct this present study. The goal of this research was to gain in a deeper understanding about the types and underlying causes of students' psychological speaking problems among eighth-graders of MTs NW Sepit. There were twenty students taken as participants. Data then were collected through questionnaire and interview. The result of this research indicated that the students of MTs. NW Sepit faced the psychological problems in learning speaking. From the data gained in questionnaire and interview, speaking difficulties were most frequently caused by a lack of confidence (50%) followed by a lack of motivation (38, 46%) and nervousness (11, 53%), which was the least common. It was hoped that by putting this study into practice, students would become more fluent in English and experience less psychological speaking problems.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using TikTok application in improving speaking skill for EFL learners. The research design employs pre-experimental research with the sample of 25 students. The technique data collection was done by administering pre-test and post-test. This research used descriptive statistic Paired Sample T-Test to analyze the data. The mean score of pre-test was 46.6 and 71.4 for post-test. Based on the statistical analysis, it showed that the use of TikTok application give a good impact for the students speaking skill because the mean score of post-test was higher than pre-test. In testing hypothesis, it was found that the significance value of the result of TikTok application thought self-introduction was 0.00 lower than 0.05, so the hypothesis was accepted. Additionally, some improvements were seen after the treatment such as “I em” to be “I am”, “lipe” to be “live” and other vocabulary items. In conclusion, TikTok application was significantly effective in improving speaking skill for EFL learners at X grade in SMK Unwanul Falah NWDI Paok Lombok.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu; Terbukanya kesempatan mahasiswa untukberperan aktif dalam pengembangan desa melalui program pengabdian kepadamasyarakat, Membantu mengatasi permasalahan pendidikan, kesehatan, danlingkungan yang dihadapi masyarakat desa melalui upaya peningkatan kesadaranatau sikap, wawasan atau pengetahuan dan keterampilan, Membangun kemitraandengan stakeholder terkait denggan dalam mewujudkan program, dan Menerapkankonsep dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui sosialisasi kepada masyarakatsekitar yang dilaksanakan dalam tim kerja yang bersipat kolaboratif. PelaksanaanPKM dengan tema Bina desa terpadu yang dilaksanakan di desa GunungRajak mencakup 3 aspek bidang kegiatan yang telah direncanakan. Setelahmelakukan pertemuan kepada pihak desa atau pihak-pihak yang terkaitdengan program PKM. Kelompok PKM melaksanakan program-programtersebut dan melaporkan hasil pelaksanaan program tersebut. Kesimpulandari laporan PKM bina desa ,yang dilaksanakan didesa gunungrajak ,kecamatan sakra barat kabupaten lombok timur mencakup 3 aspekbidang kegiatan yang telah disususn oleh PKM bina Desa Terpaduyaitu ;Pertama bidang pendidikan ,kedua bidang sosial lingkungan ,trakhirbidang kesehatan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu; Menananamkan nilai kepribadiannasionalisme dan jiwa pancasila, kemandirian, kepemimpinan dan kewirausahaan,keuletan etos kerja dan tanggung jawab, Melaksanakan terapan ipteks secarateamwork dan interdispliner, dan Mendorong lerning community dan learningsociety. Desa Bungtiang merupakan salah satu desa yang berada dikecamatan sacra barat. Desa ini terdiri atas 8 dusun yaitu Bungtiang Barat,Bungtiang Timur, Bungtiang Utara, Bungtiang Selatan, Montong Mesir,Montong Perapen, Gerisak Pendem, dan Bungambar. Wilayah desadidomisili area permukiman warga dengan wilyah pertanian (sawah) yangsangat luas. Desa Bungtiang sama seperti wilayah perdesan di pelosokkarena jauh dengan pusat kota. Ditandai dengan sedikitnya aktivitasekonomi, termasuk tidak adanya inovasi dan pengembangan yang beragam,fasilitas umum yang kurang memadai, serta tingkat pendidikan masyarakatyang terbilang masih kurang. Pelaksanaan PKM (Kuliah Kerja Nyata)merupakan suatu bentuk pengabdian mahasiswa untuk masyarakat.pelaksanaan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang telahterprogramkan bisa berjalan sesuai dengan program yang telahdirencanakan meskipun terdapat perubahan dan penambahan kegiatan.Berdasarkan pengalaman dan kondisi lapangan yang kami peroleh selamakegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM).

Abstract

This researcher aims to determine the students' interest through pop up books towards the success of English learning and the students' ability to use this technique in the learning process. For qualitative data, a questionnaire was used by distributing questionnaires to students and then conducting several interviews about the application of the technique. The test results increased to 85%. Meanwhile, as a result of analyzing students' opinions, we found that pop up book media is effective in improving students' English interest. Applying pop up technique in English learning, especially interest, is an appropriate strategy to increase students' English interest in the classroom.

Abstract

The research objects were: (1) to know the effect of authentic material towards students’ ability in comprehending procedure text for the EFL Learners and (2) to know the extent effect of authentic material towards students’ ability in comprehending procedure text for the EFL Learners. This research was experimental research, with two groups of sample; those are experimental and control groups. Each group consists of 20 students, 20 students for experimental group and 20 students for control group. To get the data, the research instruments which were developed to collect data were objective test, which consisted 30 items in form of multiple-choice test where each item consists of four items option (a, b, c, and d). After collecting and calculating the data, the researcher found out that the mean scores of experimental group in pre and post-tests were 18.85 and 21.70, while for control group were 17.70 and 19.50. In testing the hypothesis, the researcher used t-test formula. The researcher found out that t-test was 3.63 and t-table in significant rank 0.05 (5%) was 2.00 (3.63 > 2.00) so, the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of authentic material towards students’ ability in comprehending procedure text for the EFL Learners.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out how the effect of habituation of Mingle Night program in improving students' English speaking ability at BestOne Education English Course. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research design. The data collection methods used were observation, interview, and documentation. The participants in this study amounted to 15 students at the BesOne Education course. The results of this study show that the impact of the Mingle Night program can increase students' vocabulary and improve students' English speaking skills. In addition, the Mingle Night program can also increase self-confidence and build mental in speaking in front of many people. This Mingle Night program is also different from other programs that students have encountered because in Mingle Night students can be free in speaking and having opinions without fear of the wrong word structure. In conclusion, the Mingle Night program at BestOne Education is considered effective in improving students' speaking skills. In addition, tutor assistance and support also greatly affect the effectiveness of this Mingle Night program.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding the correlation between grit and applied linguistics on the syntax for EFL learners, the correlation between EFL learners’ motivation and applied linguistics on the syntax for EFL learners, and the correlation between grit, EFL learners’ motivation, and applied linguistics on the syntax for EFL learners. Twenty-eight of the students of English education in the sixth semester were selected through simple random sampling. There were two instruments in this research: The questionnaire and the test. The data in this study were analyzed by using SPSS version 22 for Windows. The researcher gave detailed instructions on how to complete the surveys. The findings demonstrated that there is no correlation between grit, and applied linguistics in the syntax for EFL learners. The second hypothesis results indicated that there is no correlation between motivation and applied linguistics on the syntax for EFL learners. The results of the third hypothesis showed that the correlation between grit, EFL learners’ motivation, and applied linguistics on the syntax for EFL learners is not significant. Thus, it is understood that grit, EFL learners’ motivation, and applied linguistics have no full role in learning syntax for EFL learners.
