Abstract

Abstract

Learning al-Qowa’id al-Nahwiyyah  required an effective approach. The study evaluated use of concept maps strategy in teaching al-Qowa’id al-Nahwiyyah  at Al-Hidayah Islamic boarding school in Karang Ploso and compared its effectiveness with lecture method. The approach employed both qualitative and quantitative methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Qualitative data were analyzed using Sugiyono's model, while quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS 25. The research findings indicated that the utilization of concept maps strategy at Al-Hidayah Islamic boarding school was carried out through several steps, including Introduction of Material, mind map creation, Group Discussion, and Practice. The students perceived that the concept mapping strategy could help organize information effectively, as evidenced by the average satisfaction questionnaire score of 83.4%. Although the use of concept maps was favored by the students, this strategy did not show a significant difference compared to the lecture method, with only a slight average score difference of 1.07. The average score for the concept maps strategy was 85.25, while for the lecture method it was 84.18. As the analysis results using SPSS indicated a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.612 > 0.05 and t value (0.510) < t table (2.042), it was understood that the concept maps strategy did not have a significant difference compared to the lecture method in teaching al-Qowa’id al-Nahwiyyah. Therefore, teaching al-Qowa’id al-Nahwiyyah  using the concept maps strategy was not more effective compared to the lecture method as both could equally enhance students' abilities optimally.

Abstract

Creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere is very necessary in this era, especially in learning Arabic in order to increase students' motivation and learning outcomes. Researchers used the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model as the right solution to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning and critical thinking. This study aims to determine the effect of Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) model to improve motivation and learning outcomes of Arabic language. Researchers used the Quasi Experiment method with pretest-posttest group design. The sample in this study consisted of 52 students who were divided into two classes, namely class A as an experimental class consisting of 26 students and class B as a control class of 26 students. The results of this study indicate an increase in learning motivation and student learning outcomes in Arabic language learning. This is evidenced by the hypothesis test where the sig value is 0.000 <0.05 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an effect of the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) model to increase student motivation and learning outcomes in Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Despite the established theoretical potential of formative assessment, a significant gap exists in understanding its practical application and impact within Arabic language pedagogy, particularly in non-formal educational settings. This study addresses this gap by exploring the role of evaluation tools in enhancing vocabulary and grammar mastery at LKP Kampung Arab Al-Azhar Pare, a non-formal institution in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five teachers and twenty students, non-participant observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal a comprehensive typology of evaluation tools, strategically implemented as active pedagogical strategies rather than mere measurement instruments. These tools, which range from digital gamified quizzes (e.g., Kahoot, Wordwall) to collaborative performance tasks, were found to significantly enhance student engagement, foster a deeper conceptual understanding of grammar, and reinforce the functional application of vocabulary. A critical factor in their efficacy was the consistent provision of explanatory, task-focused feedback from teachers. The study concludes that a formative, integrated evaluation system is instrumental in bridging the gap between assessing knowledge and actively cultivating it. This research offers a replicable framework for non-formal institutions and contributes to Arabic language pedagogy by empirically demonstrating how a holistic assessment approach can transform learning processes and outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores using Suno.Ai, an AI-powered platform, to teach maharah istima' (listening comprehension) at Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS). While previous research on digital media has focused mainly on English instruction, few studies have explored the use of AI in Arabic listening education, particularly within Islamic boarding schools. This research addresses that gap by analyzing how Suno.Ai supports Arabic vocabulary acquisition and student engagement. This study employs a qualitative case study design; data were collected through classroom observations and teacher-student interviews and then analyzed thematically and interpretively. Findings show that Suno.Ai enhances students' motivation and comprehension with adequate facilities and teacher guidance, although challenges like internet instability and low digital literacy persist. The novelty of this study lies in its contextual application of AI tools in Arabic language pedagogy. It contributes theoretically by expanding discourse on AI in language learning and offering insights into AI's effective integration in Arabic listening instruction.

Abstract

The recently political contestations in the Muslim world confirmed a new wave of Islamic politics. The political dynamics that have revolved so quickly and surprisingly, especially in non-Arab countries, are evidence that questioning the harmony between Islam and democracy, pluralism and human rights is no longer relevant. Even though it is not monolithic and is still in the “process of becoming”, the political dynamics that are revolving in a number of Muslim-majority countries actually lead to the same goal, namely the realization of a democratic and civilized politics.
