Abstract

The increase in sexual violence, especially among teenagers in Indonesia, which occurs in various environments such as homes, schools and communities is an important problem to pay attention to. Sexual violence can take various forms of action, including physical and psychological abuse. Surveys show that many teenagers experience sexual violence, especially during dating, with negative impacts such as loss of self-confidence and self-esteem. This research is to measure the impact of peer assisted learning methods on changes in attitudes and subjective norms in implementing PSEA in the educational environment. The Theory of Planned Behavior is used as a theoretical framework to examine the influence of the PAL method on changes in attitudes and subjective norms of Nusa Cendana University students regarding PSEA.Objective To determine the influence of the peer assisted learning method in protection of sexual exploitation and abuse training on changes in the attitude towards the behavior & subjective norms of the UNDANA academic community in implementing PSEA. This research was conducted at Nusa Cendana University using non-proportional cluster sampling techniques. The sample consisted of 30 tutors (members of the PPKS Task Force, HPU team, and Laskar Sehat) as well as the academic community (students and staff) from various units at UNDANA. The research used a quasi experimental two-group design with pretest-posttest design, involving two treatment groups. Each group took part in training on PSEA, measured through three stages of measurement: pretest before training, posttest 1 after tutor training, and posttest 2 after tutee training by the tutor. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, as well as repeated measure ANOVA and Paired Samples T-Test. Coordination steps, preparation of questionnaires, and data analysis were carried out carefully, resulting in new insights regarding protection against sexual exploitation and violence on the UNDANA campus environment. Training on protection against sexual exploitation and violence using the PAL method has proven to be effective in improving the Attitude Toward the Behavior and Subjective Norms of the UNDANA academic community regarding PSEA. The statistical test results showed significance in the tutor group (p 0.001) and the tutee group (p 0.001). Improvements in attitudes and subjective norms were seen in both groups, confirming that the PAL method was effective in influencing UNDANA's perception of PSEA.

Abstract

Students who live away from home often face various challenges in the adaptation process, ranging from separation from family, demands for independence, to adjustment to a new environment. These factors can increase the risk of feelings of loneliness and psychological problems, and potentially reduce their subjective well-being. This study aims to explore the relationship between social support and subjective well-being among students who live away from home, and to analyze the relationship between each aspect of social support and subjective well-being. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with a correlational design, and the sampling technique applied is accidental sampling. The population of the study was students who lived away from home, with a sample size of 384 participants. The instruments used in this study included the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, the Satisfaction With Life Scale, and the Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule. The results of the analysis showed a significant positive relationship between social support and subjective well-being, with a p value <0.001. In addition, the correlation analysis of the three aspects of social support showed that each aspect had a significant relationship with subjective well-being. These findings indicate that social support is one of the key factors influencing the subjective well-being of students who live away from home. Thus, it is crucial for students to build a strong social support network to improve their well-being during their time away from home. This research provides valuable insights for developing support programs for students living away from home to help them adapt better. Furthermore, support from friends, family, and the surrounding community can help students cope with the stress and challenges they face during their time away from home. This suggests that building positive social relationships is crucial for their mental and emotional well-being.

Abstract

Psychological dynamics refer to the interactions and changes that occur in a person's thoughts, feelings, and behavior when they face and resolve conflicts involving perceptions, attitudes, and behavior. Understanding a person's psychological dynamics can help in understanding their needs and the appropriate ways to help them overcome various psychological problems. This study aims to understand the psychological dynamics of adolescent perpetrators of sexual violence who are undergoing rehabilitation at the Class I Special Child Rehabilitation Institution (LPKA) in Kupang City. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of two children involved in sexual violence cases. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, supported by interviews with LPKA officers and psychological assessment reports. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis techniques based on cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal aspects. The results of the study show that the psychological dynamics of adolescent perpetrators of sexual violence are influenced by parenting patterns, family, past experiences, emotional pressure, and the influence of the social environment. The cognitive aspect of adolescents is characterized by a lack of self-control and understanding of risk, the emotional aspect shows anger, guilt, and regret, while the interpersonal aspect is influenced by negative social circles and poor social skills. This study emphasizes the importance of a guidance approach that not only emphasizes legal aspects but also psychological rehabilitation, the role of family, and the social environment to prevent the recurrence of sexual violence.

Abstract

Abstract Prosocial behavior, such as helping others, plays a crucial role in supporting mental health, especially among college students who often face psychological challenges and require social support. Psychological First Aid (PFA) is one form of psychosocial support that peers can provide, and peer teaching—where students teach fellow students—is considered an effective method to foster prosocial behavior intentions while enhancing mutual support. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the peer teaching method in PFA training to increase prosocial behavior intention among students at Nusa Cendana University. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test–post-test control group was used, involving 88 students grouped through cluster sampling into experimental group I (n=3), experimental group II (n=22), and a control group (n=63). Data were collected online using the Prosocial Tendencies Measure questionnaire and analyzed with repeated measures ANOVA. The results showed no significant differences in pre- and post-test scores across the groups (p-value within subjects = 0.360; between subjects = 0.632). These findings indicate that PFA training using the peer teaching method did not significantly improve prosocial behavior intention. It is recommended that future training incorporate practical field experiences with organizations such as hospitals or disaster response agencies to improve real-world impact.
