Abstract

Steganography is a technique for embedding secret information into digital media, such as medical images, without significantly affecting their visual quality. The primary challenge in medical image steganography is preserving the quality of the cover image while ensuring robustness against distortions such as compression or data manipulation attacks, which may impact diagnostic accuracy. This study proposes an enhanced steganographic method based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) to improve the security and robustness of medical image embedding. DWT decomposes the medical image into four frequency sub-bands (LL, LH, HL, HH), while SVD is applied to embed the secret image while maintaining essential medical features. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a PSNR value of up to 78 dB and an SSIM value approaching 1, indicating that the stego image quality is nearly identical to the original cover image. Compared to previous DCT-SVD and IWT-SVD-based approaches, the DWT-SVD method offers superior robustness and imperceptibility, particularly in preserving image quality in complex-textured medical images. This method contributes to enhancing data security in telemedicine and AI-based medical imaging applications by ensuring that sensitive medical data remains protected while preserving image integrity for diagnostic use.

Abstract

Lembaga kesehatan yang dapat diakses untuk memperoleh pelayanan kesehatan dasar untuk bayi dan balita adalah posyandu. Salah satu posyandu yang ada di Kota Semarang adalah Posyandu Bougenville Kelurahan Patemon. Posyandu Bougenville melayani penimbangan balita dan imunisasi, Tenaga sukarelawan kesehatan yang telah mendapatkan pelatihan, serta memberikan panduan kesehatan bagi ibu hamil dan ibu menyusui. Kader dan peserta Posyandu sering mengalami kesulitan dalam proses pencarian data. Hal ini disebabkan karena selama ini pencatatan data ditulis secara manual menggunakan tangan. Peserta juga jarang mendapatkan beberapa informasi tentang hasil pencatatan di posyandu. Kendala lain yang dihadapi oleh Posyandu Bougenville adalah ketika jumlah peserta yang banyak ketika ada sebuah event tertentu. Kader posyandu mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan proses pengolahan data karena banyak data yang sama dicatatkan berulang-ulang sehingga mengakibatkan redudansi data. Hal ini menyebabkan kader Posyandu terkadang melakukan kesalahan dalam penghitungan data saat pembuatan laporan kegiatan Posyandu di tingkat Kelurahan.

Abstract

Permasalahan sampah menjadi permasalahan kebersihan dan lingkungan serta menjadi masalah sosial yang berpotensi menimbulkan konflik di masyarakat oleh karena itu didirikan bank sampah untuk membantu mengatasi hal tersebut. Salah satu bank sampah yang ada di Kota Semarang yaitu Bank Sampah Eling Resik. Bank Sampah Eling Resik merupakan bank sampah yang didirikan ibu-ibu PKK di RW 3, Kelurahan Patemon, Kecamatan Gunung Pati. Walaupun Bank Sampah Eling Resik sudah dapat mengumpulkan sampah plastik yang banyak, namun pengelolaan yang dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah sampah plastik sehingga memiliki nilai ekonomi yang lebih. Kendala yang dihadapi oleh Bank Sampah Eling Resik dalam mengembangkan nilai ekonomi sampah plastik adalah pemasaran yang baik. Bank Sampah Eling Resik belum memasarkan pot bunga yang dihasilkan karena merasa pot bunga yang dihasilkan tidak dapat dijual karena merasa produk yang dihasilkan tidak dikemas dengan baik. Target luaran kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pemahaman peserta tentang pengetahuan pentingnya dasar digital marketing untuk produk hasil olahan daur ulang sampah plastik yang ada, terciptanya desain sosial media hasil olahan daur ulang sampah plastik yang bagus dan menarik, serta terciptanya foto produk hasil olahan daur ulang sampah plastik untuk memperlihatkan keunggulan produk.

Abstract

Transformasi digital dalam industri kreatif menuntut peserta didik pendidikan vokasi, khususnya pada kompetensi Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV), untuk memiliki kesiapan profesional yang melampaui penguasaan keterampilan teknis semata. Realitas di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan masih belum memiliki pemahaman yang memadai terkait pembentukan identitas profesional, pengelolaan proses kreatif, serta penyajian karya dalam bentuk portofolio digital yang relevan dengan standar industri. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dirancang sebagai intervensi edukatif melalui pelaksanaan pelatihan dan pendampingan sistematis yang berfokus pada integrasi personal branding dengan penyusunan portofolio digital siswa DKV di SMK Al Kautsariyyah Demak. Pendekatan kegiatan meliputi penguatan pemahaman konseptual, eksplorasi karakter visual individu, kurasi dan pengemasan karya, serta pendampingan pemanfaatan platform digital sebagai media presentasi profesional. Implementasi program menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran peserta didik terhadap pentingnya konsistensi identitas visual dan kemampuan menyajikan karya secara terstruktur dan komunikatif. Selain berdampak pada peningkatan kompetensi siswa, kegiatan ini juga menjadi sarana pembelajaran kontekstual bagi mahasiswa dan dosen dalam pelaksanaan tridarma perguruan tinggi serta mendukung capaian Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU). Dengan demikian, program ini berperan dalam memperkuat keterhubungan antara pendidikan vokasi dan kebutuhan aktual industri kreatif. Untuk luaran kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, juga akan dipublikasikan pada jurnal nasional pengabdian masyarakat ABDIMASKU, hasil dokumentasi pelaksanaan diupload pada youtube, dan HKI. Kegiatan PKM ini laksanakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa dari program studi Desain Komunikasi Visual dan Teknik Informatika yang terakreditasi unggul sehingga kompeten dibidangnya masing-masing.

Abstract

User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) design training is an important effort to enhance the competencies of vocational high school (SMK) students, particularly those in the Visual Communication Design (DKV) program, in order to align with the demands of the digital industry. This activity aims to develop students’ skills in designing web-based application interfaces through training using Figma and Adobe XD. The method applied is project-based learning, which includes the delivery of fundamental UI/UX concepts, wireframing, interface design, and the development of interactive prototypes. The participants of this activity were DKV students at SMK Bhakti Nusantara Mranggen.The results of the training indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of UI/UX concepts as well as their ability to produce more structured and user-oriented designs. Students were also able to utilize key features in Figma and Adobe XD to create interactive interface designs and prototypes. In addition, there was a shift in students’ workflow from static graphic design using Adobe Photoshop and CorelDRAW toward a system-based and user experience–oriented design approach. Therefore, this training contributes to improving students’ readiness to meet the demands of the digital creative industry.

Abstract

Image encryption is a critical process aimed at securing digital images, safeguarding them from unauthorized access, tampering, or viewing to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive visual information. In this research, we integrate polynomial Chebyshev, fractal Tromino, and substitution S-box methods into a comprehensive image encryption approach. Our evaluation focuses on standardized 256×256-pixel images of Lena, Peppers, and Baboon, assessing key performance metrics like mean squared error (MSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), unified average changing intensity (UACI), number of pixel changes rate (NPCR), and entropy. The results reveal varying encryption quality across images, with Lena exhibiting the highest MSE (4702) and the lowest PSNR (12.89 dB). However, UACI, NPCR, and entropy values remain consistent across all images, indicating the proposed method’s stability concerning changing intensity, pixel alterations, and entropy levels. These findings contribute valuable insights into the effectiveness of the proposed encryption method, providing a foundation for further exploration and optimization in the field of cryptographic research. For future research direction, it is recommended to explore the impact of varying image sizes and types on the proposed method’s performance. Additionally, by focusing on the area of cryptographic threats, further analysis of the algorithm’s resistance against advanced attacks and its computational efficiency would be beneficial.

Abstract

Aplikasi virtual reality UMKM Lumintu dirancang untuk dapat memfasilitasi UMKM Lumintu dalam memamerkan produk mereka. Aplikasi ini dibuat karena UMKM Lumintu tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk menyelengarakan pameran secara mandiri dikarenakan untuk membuat pameran yang bagus dan menarik diperlukan dana yang besar. Selain itu, perubahan dari melihat pameran nyata ke bentuk pameran maya memberikan pengalaman yang berbeda bagi pengguna saat menggunakan pameran digital virtual reality. Ketergunaan tersebut yang sering disebut sebagai usability. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis usability aplikasi virtual reality UMKM Lumintu dari sudut pandang pengguna sehingga dari hasil evaluasi dapat digunakan sebagai rekomendasi untuk perbaikan pembuatan aplikasi virtual reality ruang pamer selanjutnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode pengambilan data menggunakan kuisioner. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah 5 komponen usability berdasarkan teori dari Handiwidjojo dan Ernawati yaitu learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, dan satisfaction. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah aplikasi virtual reality UMKM Lumintu ini layak untuk didistribusikan ke pengguna karena memiliki nilai yang baik dalam setiap komponen.

Abstract

Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) play a crucial role in protecting networks from various forms of cyberattacks. However, conventional signature-based methods often fail to detect new or unknown threats and are prone to generating high false positive rates. This study proposes a hybrid approach combining Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Random Forest (RF) to develop a more adaptive and accurate intrusion detection system. CNN is employed to extract features from raw network traffic data, while RF serves as the primary classifier. The UNSW-NB15 dataset is used for training and testing the model. Evaluation results show that the hybrid model achieves an accuracy of 93.0%, average precision of 94%, recall of 90%, F1-score of 92%, and a false positive rate of 19.2%. These results demonstrate that the CNN–RF hybrid approach effectively improves intrusion detection performance and offers a promising solution for modern network security systems

Abstract

This study investigates the application of the Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithm to predict the age period of trilobite fossils based on geological and geospatial data. The challenges addressed in this research include the high complexity of paleontological data, the presence of missing values, and class imbalance in the target variable time_period, which can negatively affect predictive performance. The objective of this study is to develop an accurate and robust fossil age prediction model through systematic data preprocessing, feature selection, and model optimization. The dataset used in this research was obtained from Kaggle and consists of the attributes longitude, latitude, lithology, environment, and collection_type as the main features. The research workflow includes data cleaning, missing value imputation, categorical feature encoding, data splitting using stratified train–test split, and class imbalance handling through a class weight adjustment approach. The XGBoost model was trained on the training dataset and further optimized using RandomizedSearchCV to obtain the optimal hyperparameter configuration. Evaluation results on the testing dataset show that the tuned XGBoost model achieved an accuracy of 95%, precision of 90%, recall of 93%, and an F1-score of 91%, outperforming the model without hyperparameter tuning. These results demonstrate that the integration of geological–geospatial feature selection and hyperparameter tuning in XGBoost is effective in improving the performance of trilobite fossil age period prediction. The results of this study are expected to serve as a computational support approach in paleontology to assist fossil period determination in a more objective, efficient, and data-driven manner.

Abstract

The transmission of medical images over telemedicine networks increases the risk of data leakage and manipulation of sensitive information. This study develops a Reversible Data Hiding framework that integrates Spatial Fuzzy C-Means, Selective Histogram Shifting, and a measurable Distortion Control Mechanism for securing T1-weighted brain MRI images. The proposed method prioritizes the preservation of Region of Interest intensity characteristics and full reversibility over embedding capacity. SFCM is employed to generate Region of Interest and Non-Region of Interest mappings based on intensity distribution, with adaptive parameter adjustment for each slice. Data embedding is performed selectively on NROI using histogram shifting, while ROI areas remain unmodified. An Adaptive Feedback Control mechanism monitors image quality metrics SNR, CNR, GLCM with conservative thresholds (ΔSNR ≤ 2.0%, ΔCNR ≤ 1.0%) to ensure ROI stability. Experimental evaluation on the OASIS-1 dataset shows that the proposed method achieves an average PSNR of 54.13 dB, SSIM of 0.9996, and NCC of 0.9999, with an embedding capacity of 630 bits per slice (BPP 0.007-0.013 within NROI). Reversibility verification confirms perfect recovery (maximum difference = 0) for all samples. Batch testing on five slices demonstrates consistent performance across varying intensity characteristics, with ΔSNR and ΔCNR remaining at 0.0%. These results indicate that the method is capable of maintaining ROI technical integrity and pixel-perfect reversibility, although with a limited capacity suitable for lightweight metadata such as integrity hashes and patient identifiers. Limitations of the study include the technical-only evaluation without radiologist clinical validation and testing restricted to T1-weighted MRI modality.
