Abstract

In the industrial world, the development of material technology is growing rapidly. Various kinds of materials have been used and further research is being carried out to obtain the right materials, one of which is composite materials. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the tensile strength of the composite material reinforced with sago pulp. In this study, the manufacture of composites using the hand lay up method. then the fiber is given alkaline treatment by soaking in a solution of NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) with a concentration of 5% for 1 hour, 2 hours and without treatment. From the results obtained, immersion for 1 hour has the highest tensile stress of 10,456 N/mm², followed by immersion for 2 hours of tensile stress of 7.189 N/mm². While without treatment has the lowest tensile stress of 4.955 N/mm². This shows that the treatment will affect the tensile stress.Kata kunci: Sago drgs, tensile strength, alkali

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to find out the influence of the type of welding on deformation produced by using the element method up to through ansys software. The material used in this study is AlSl 4130 steel material the process of connecting metal or distributing temperature into the connection material is carried out using ansys software with camphor used campuh U and V. The temperature given to the material is 1500°C. The results of the largest deformation research in the U camp are 0.00074711 m while in camphor V the total deformation formed from the welding temperature given is 0.00034381 m. The total difference in deformation formed in each camp is caused by the concentration of temperature that occurs in the material caused by the amount of temperature filling in the camp.keywords: Deformation, welding camp, temperature distribution

Abstract

In the industrial world there have been many innovations and creations aimed at improving the quality and quantity of production. In industrial and construction activities, there are usually material or material loads that cannot be lifted using human power. For industry, there is a lifting device called a crane. Cranes have a main component called a hook which is used to help lift the load by being hooked. Hooks that are designed incorrectly will be dangerous when used, so it is necessary to check the stress through theoretical analysis calculations or by simulation using Autodesk Inventor to evaluate the construction through the safety factor and Von Misses stress analysis so that the construction made on the hook does not experience failure. The results of theoretical analysis and simulation results using Autodesk Inventor 2017 software on a hook with a load of 3 Tons or 29.430 N can be concluded that the maximum compressive stress of cross section AB is 5.19 kg/ mm2 tensile stress of cross section AB is 15.40 kg/mm2 and on the CD cross section the maximum compressive stress is 4.97 kg/mm2 and the maximum tensile stress is 13.35 kg/mm2, the safety factor based on simulation is 15. It can be concluded that, the Hook which has been analyzed theoretically and simulation can be said to be able to accept a load of 3 tons. Keywords: Hook, overhead crane

Abstract

Wastes that we often encounter easily is waste from cigarette filters, one example of its utilization is the utilization of wast .filter. filter cigarettes as a composite mixture, by utilizing materials originating from waste which are easy to obtain by utilizing cigarette filter waste as a sound absorbing material. this study aims to determine the composition of the composite mixture reinforced by cigarette filter waste on sound intensity and sound absorption coefficient. The production method is with a fraction of 30%: 70%, 44%: 56%, and 51%: 51%, which is the best composite fraction with respect to sound intensity values and sound absorption coefficient values, composite materials with a frequency of 510 Hz get sound intensity values the highest is the 30%:70% fraction of 104,867 dBa. and the lowest is the 51%:49% fraction, which is 96.676 dBa, and the highest sound absorption coefficient is the 51%:49% fraction of 0.196 and the lowest is the 30%-70% fraction, namely 0.129, so it can be concluded that the smaller the fiber fraction of the acoustic material of cigarette filter waste, the higher the sound absorption coefficient produced. The best sound absorption coefficient value is obtained for the material acoustic with a fraction of 51% :51% frequency of 510 Hz which is 0.196. Keywords: Acoustic, Boko, Composite, Noise, Waste.

Abstract

Analysis of the effect of welding position and electrode movement pattern on hardness,it can be concluded that the electrode movement pattern has an influence on the hardness result. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the electrode angle on the mechanical and physical properties of low carbon steel from the SMAW welding process. The research method used is hardness testing and microstructure analysis. The results obtained are that specimens with different electrode angles, namely 300, 450, and 600 produce an average in each welding area such as the weld area, haz area, and different areas where the greater the angle the higher Also the average for each weld area and also on the analysis of microstructure shows that the weld metal area with electrode angles of 300, 450, and 600 shows the same microstructure or does not show any effect. the larger the area of the weld metal with electrode anglesof 300, 450, and 600, the larger the ferrite area, the larger the area of the weld metal with angles of 300, 450, and 600 pearlite grains. Keywords: electrode angle, low carbon steel, microstructure, welding
