Abstract

[Title: Development of Physics Cognitive Instruments Of Junior High School Students]  This study aims to develop cognitive instruments on energy and business materials, simple aircraft and light quality. The specific purpose of this study is to describe: (1) the validity of cognitive instruments seen from Outfit MNSQ, ZSTD, and Pt Measure Corr; (2) the reliability of cognitive instruments seen from the values of individual separation, grain separation, and Cronbach Alpha; (3) the degree of difficulty seen from the logit value in the measurement column; This development research refers to the development model of Borg and Gall with the subject of research of 200 students of class VIII originating from several SMPN in Banjarmasin. Instrument collecting data in the form of validation and cognitive instruments. Data analysis techniques are descriptive and quantitative. The results showed: (1) five items of description on light material, nine items about the description of simple plane materials and nine items about the description of energy materials and businesses that are categorized as valid; (2) reliability of cognitive instruments seen from individual separation values, grain separation values, and Cronbach Alpha values are categorized as very reliable; (3) the difficulty level of questions seen from the logit of categorized is very difficult, difficult, easy, and very easy.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan guru-guru fisika di Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah tentang penyusunan proposal Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Peserta yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pengabdin ini merupakan anggota Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) fisika Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah. Tahapan yang dilakukan pada pengabdian ini terdiri atas dua tahap, yaitu penyampaian materi dan praktik penyusunan proposal PTK. Materi yang disampaikan adalah konsep dasar PTK dan analisis masalah pembelajaran, metodologi PTK, menganalisis data dan interpretasi hasil, dan merancang proposal PTK dengan metode ceramah. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah bertambahnya pemahaman dan kemampuan guru tentang penyusunan proposal PTK. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat dijadkan sebagai bahan masukan guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesionalisme guru dengan melakukan PTK. This service activity aims to improve the understanding and ability of physics teachers in the Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency regarding the preparation of Classroom Action Research (CAR) proposals. Participants involved in this community service activity were members of the Physics Teachers Meeting (MGMP) physics at Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. The stages carried out in this service consist of two steps, namely the delivery of material and the practice of preparing a CAR proposal. The material presented is the basic concept of CAR and analysis of learning problems, CAR methodology, analyzing data and interpretation of results, and designing CAR proposals using the lecture method. The result of this dedication is the increasing understanding and ability of teachers regarding the preparation of PTK proposals. The results of these community service activities can be used as teacher input to improve teacher professional competence by conducting CAR.

Abstract

 Pengembangan kreativitas ilmiah dalam pembelajaran fisika menjadi solusi baru yang lebih efektif dalam mengatasi berbagai permasalahan yang semakin kompleks dan beragam dewasa ini; tetapi hambatan kreativitas mengganggu kemampuan para guru fisika untuk mengenali ide-ide kreatifnya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan pengabdian ini ialah membekali para guru fisika di Kalimantan Selatan dengan pengetahuan dan kreativitas ilmiah; serta berlatih mendesain Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) Berbasis Kreativitas Ilmiah. Kegiatan pengabdian diawali identifikasi masalah tentang rendahnya kreativitas ilmiah para guru sains-fisika, kemudian penyusunan modul pelatihan kreativitas ilmiah yang ditekankan pada aktivitas siswa meliputi: (1) menentukan kegunaan benda untuk tujuan ilmiah, (2) menemukan masalah-masalah sains, (3) meningkatkan kegunaan produk secara teknis, (4) berimajinasi ilmiah, (5) mendesain eksperimen kreatif, (6) memecahkan masalah sains secara kreatif, dan (7) mendesain produk secara kreatif. Selain itu, pengembangan desain LKS melibatkan pembelajaran berbasis otonomi, kebutuhan belajar kreatif, investigasi ilmiah, dan pemantapan kreativitas ilmiah. Pelaksanaan pengabdian dalam bentuk wokshop mendesain LKS berbasis kreativitas ilmiah. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman kreativitas ilmiah guru dalam mendesain produk kreatif pada awalnya dalam kriteria kurang kreatif. Sebaliknya, setelah mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, para peserta pelatihan lebih memahami tentang kreativitas ilmiah dan pentingnya kreativitas ilmiah dalam pembelajaran sains-fisika, serta dapat mendesain LKS berbasis kreativitas ilmiah dalam kriteria kreatif. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pengembangan desain LKS berbasis kreativitas ilmiah pada guru sains-fisika di Kalimantan Selatan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman kreativitas ilmiah para pendidik dengan baik.Development of scientific creativity in learning physics into new solutions that are more effective in overcoming various increasingly complex and diverse problems today, but the obstacle of creativity interferes with the ability of physics teachers to recognize their creative ideas. Therefore, this service aims to equip physics teachers in South Kalimantan with scientific knowledge and creativity, as well as to practice designing the student worksheets based on creativity. The service activity begins with the identification of problems regarding the lack of scientific creativity of science-physics teachers. The preparation of scientific creativity training modules that emphasizes student activities include: (1) determining the use of objects for scientific purposes, (2) finding scientific problems, (3) improve the use of technical products, (4) scientific imagination, (5) design creative experiments, (6) solve scientific problems creatively, and (7) design creative products. Also, the development of the student worksheet design involves autonomous based learning, creative learning needs, scientific investigations, and strengthening scientific creativity. Implementation of community service in the form of a workshop to design the student worksheet based on scientific creativity. The results of the dedication show that the understanding of the teacher's scientific creativity in designing creative products was initially less creative. On the contrary, after participating in this community service activity, the trainees will understand more about scientific creativity and the importance of scientific creativity in learning science-physics and can design the student worksheet based on scientific creativity in creative criteria. Thus, the development of the student worksheet based scientific creativity design activities in science-physics teachers in South Kalimantan can improve the understanding of the scientific creativity of educators well.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to analyze profile students’ problem solving skill and the implementation of assisted guided inquiry at senior high school. The type of research is used the preliminary research method with data collection techniques such as tests and questionnaires. The data are obtained, analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of this study show that only a few students can work on the material using problem-solving strategies (A-Assessing the problem (identifying principles to be used in problem-solving), C-create a drawing (translating words in the form of pictures containing about problem-solving instructions), C-conceptualize strategy (outlining the steps that will be used in solving the problem), E-executing the solution (applying the formula to solve the problem by the steps) and finally S-scrutinize the result (giving a level of confidence and give a reason) in solving dynamic electricity problems. Totally of the students, five students had low problem-solving skills, and 25 students who had moderate problem-solving skills. The lowest problem-solving strategy value is at point S (scrutinize the result). Implementation of learning models provided is not ideal so that it causes students to be less active so that problem-solving skills are lacking and no laboratory supports the learning process. Students are not introduced to the existence of a virtual laboratory (PhET) as a laboratory replacement. So to improve students' problem-solving skills required appropriate learning methods.

Abstract

LKPD berbasis Hands on Activity (HoA) dan Minds on Activity (MoA) belum tersedia, terutama pada materi alat optik. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan LKPD berbasis HoA dan MoA pada materi alat optik serta mendeskripsikan validitas dan kepraktisannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE. Objek penelitian ini ialah kualitas kelayakan LKPD berbasis HoA dan MoA yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kriteria validitas dan kepraktisan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen validitas pakar, wawancara dan kuesioner. Subjek uji coba pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI di salah satu SMA Banjarmasin. Data diperoleh dari validitas pakar dan lembar keterbacaan LKPD oleh peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) validitas LKPD berbasis HoA dan MoA sebesar 3,39 dengan kategori valid dan (2) kepraktisan LKPD berbasis HoA dan MoA sebesar 75,48% dengan kategori praktis. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa LKPD alat optik berbasis HoA dan MoA layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran fisika. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi guru atau tenaga pengajar dan membantu proses pembelajaran pada materi alat optik. Student worksheets based on hands-on and minds-on activities (HoA and MoA) are not yet available, specifically on the subject of optical instruments. This research focused on producing student worksheets based on HoA and MoA on optical instruments subject and describe its validity and practicality. This research is development research with the ADDIE model. The object of this research is the eligibility quality of student worksheets based on HoA and MoA, which was developed regarding its validity and practicality criteria. This development research uses the ADDIE model within student worksheets based on hands-on and minds-on activities as research subjects. The test subjects in this research were class XI students at one of the high schools in Banjarmasin. The data collection techniques were carried out by expert validation instruments, interviews and questionnaires. The data were obtained from expert validation and student worksheets readability sheets. This research showed that: (1) the validity of student worksheets based on HoA and MoA was 3,39, which in the valid category and (2) the practicality of student worksheets based on HoA and MoA was 75.48% which in the practice category. Thus, student worksheets based on HoA and MoA on optical instruments subject were eligible to be implemented in learning physics. This research is expected to be a reference for teachers and help the learning process on optical instrument subjects.

Abstract

Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan e-modul yang layak untuk melatih literasi sains peserta didik. Adapun tujuan khusus penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan validitas e-modul, kepraktisan e-modul dan efektivitas e-modul. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian & pengembangan dengan model ASSURE dan diujicobakan pada 36 peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 4 SMAN 8 Banjarmasin. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Instrumen penelitian ini meliputi lembar validasi e-modul, angket respon peserta didik, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa validitas e-modul memperoleh skor 3,41 dengan berkategori sangat valid, kepraktisan e-modul berdasarkan angket respon peserta didik memperoleh rata–rata 3,53 berkategori praktis dan efektivitas e-modul berdasarkan tes hasil belajar memperoleh skor N-Gain 0,41 yang berkategori efektif. Diperoleh simpulan bahwa e-modul menggunakan aplikasi exe-learning layak digunakan untuk melatih literasi sains peserta didik.The general objective of this research is to produce a viable e-module to train students' scientific literacy. This study's specific objectives are to describe the validity of the e-module, the practicality of the e-module, and the effectiveness of the e-module. This research & development type is research & development with the ASSURE model and was tested on 36 students of class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 8 Banjarmasin. Data were analyzed quantitatively. The research instruments included e-module validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. The results of data analysis showed that the validity of the e-module obtained a score of 3.41 with a very valid category, the practicality of e-module based on the student response questionnaire obtained an average of 3.53 in the practical category, and the effectiveness of the e-module based on the test of learning outcomes obtained a score of N- Gain 0.41 which is categorized as effective. The conclusion was that the e-module using the exe-learning application was feasible to use to train students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

Scientific creativity is one of the higher-order thinking skills which are highly functional for each individual. Scientific creativity encourages the individual to not only generate creative ideas, but also promotes the notion of the appropriate technology. This article provides an in-depth explanation of the bibliometric analysis of scientific literature in education. The articles search was performed by utilizing Publish or Perish (PoP) software on the Crossref database. The search and sort results discovered that 28 of 200 articles were found between the years of 2019-2020. The selected metadata was edited using Mendeley Desktop software. The edited results were then analyzed further and visualized using the VOSviewer software. Overall, articles with the keyword scientific creativity published in the 2019-2020 period have not been cited, and it is essential to be studied collaboratively not only between national institutions but also internationally.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is one of the skills needed in the 21st century but there are no learning device that support increasing scientific literacy, causing student’s scientific literacy skills to be low.  The purpose of this research is to produce STEM based cooperative learning device on mechanical wave materials that are appropriate to improve student’s scientific literacy. The learning device developed includes lesson plans, teaching materials, activities worksheet and scientific literacy test.  This research is a development research with the ADDIE model and uses a one group pre-test and post-test trial design on 27 students of class XI IPA 3 SMAN 3 Banjarmasin.  The results of the research show that STEM based cooperative learning device are valid, because of lesson plans, teaching materials, activities worksheet and scientific literacy test in valid criteria and effective, because the N-Gain value of scientific literacy is 0.53 which indicates an increase in the moderate criteria. Thus the STEM based cooperative learning device developed is feasible to improve student’s scientific literacy.Keywords: cooperative learning, mechanical wave, scientific literacy, STEM. ABSTRAKLiterasi sains merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang dibutuhkan di abad 21, namun belum terdapat perangkat pembelajaran yang mendukung peningkatan literasi sains menyebabkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik menjadi rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis STEM pada materi gelombang mekanik yang layak untuk meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi RPP, materi ajar, LKPD dan LP literasi sains. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE dan menggunakan desain uji coba one group pre-test and post-test pada 27 peserta didik kelas XI IPA 3 SMAN 3 Banjarmasin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis STEM termasuk valid, karena RPP, materi ajar, LKPD dan LP literasi sains dalam kriteria valid serta termasuk efektif, karena nilai N-Gain literasi sains sebesar 0,53 yang menunjukan peningkatan dalam kriteria sedang. Dengan demikian perangkat pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis STEM yang dikembangkan layak untuk meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik.Kata kunci: gelombang mekanik, literasi sains, pembelajaran kooperatif, STEM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum tersedianya modul fisika yang bermuatan authentic learning dan rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah (KPM) peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kelayakan modul bermuatan authentic learning dalam mengajarkan materi elastisitas dan hukum Hooke serta melatihkan KPM berdasarkan validitas, kepraktisan, efektivitas, dan pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE ini diuji coba pada 33 orang peserta didik kelas XI PMIA 1 SMAN 3 Banjarmasin. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui lembar validitas modul, lembar validitas tes hasil belajar, lembar validitas RPP, lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan RPP, tes hasil belajar, dan lembar pengamatan KPM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan memiliki kelayakan yang sebagai berikut: (1) valid dengan rata-rata skor 3,17; (2) sangat praktis dengan rata-rata 3,61; (3) efektif berdasarkan n-gain skor sebesar 0,59 yang berkategori sedang, dan (4) mencapai KPM yang baik dengan rata-rata skor 3,58. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul bermuatan authentic learning pada materi elastisitas dan hukum Hooke untuk melatihkan KPM layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Development of Authentic Learning Loaded Physics Modules to Improve Students' Problem Solving Ability on Elasticity and Hooke's Law.  This research was motivated by the unavailability of physics modules containing authentic learning and the low problem-solving ability (KPM) of students. The purpose of this study was to describe the feasibility of authentic learning modules in teaching elasticity and Hooke's law and to train KPM based on validity, practicality, effectiveness, and achievement of problem solving abilities. This development research using the ADDIE model was tested on 33 students of class XI PMIA 1 SMAN 3 Banjarmasin. Research data were obtained through module validity sheets, learning achievement test validity sheets, lesson plan validity sheets, lesson plan implementation observation sheets, learning achievement tests, and KPM observation sheets. The results of the study show that the modules developed have the following eligibility: (1) valid with an average score of 3.17; (2) very practical with an average of 3.61; (3) effective based on an n-gain score of 0.59 which is in the moderate category, and (4) achieves a good KPM with an average score of 3.58. It can be concluded that the module contains authentic learning on elasticity and Hooke's law to train KPM is suitable for use in learning

Abstract

Teaching scientific literacy in schools is not easy, even though it is needed in education in the industrial era 4.0. This study aims to analyze the level of students' scientific literacy skills and their obstacles in school. This research was conducted on tenth graders at two Banjarmasin High Schools, namely SMA which applied the driving curriculum, and SMA which applied the 2013 curriculum. The number of research samples was 60 students who were taken using cluster random sampling. The results of the analysis show students' ability to explain phenomena scientifically, design and evaluate scientific inquiries, and interpret scientific data and evidence in each school in poor criteria (value 40), except to explain phenomena scientifically in group 1 in fairly good criteria (value = 52). The existence of obstacles is believed to interfere with student's ability to understand scientific literacy. These barriers are sourced from students' internal factors (STEM understanding, scientific processes) and are exacerbated by external factors (teachers' STEM literacy, learning atmosphere, infrastructure, assessment, and evaluation).
