Abstract

Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) is anemia with the cause being a decrease in the amount of iron needed in the process of erythropoiesis due to depleted iron stores, causing a decrease in hemoglobin formation. Riskesdas data in 2018 stated that in 300,000 households, women experienced more anemia (27.2%) than men (20.3%). The anemia rate among 15-24 year olds reached 32% in 2018. Knowing the correlation of protein and iron intake patterns with hemoglobin levels in Khairun University Medical Study Program students. This research is an analytic study that uses a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was female students who met the inclusion criteria and were determined using purposive sampling technique. Data on protein and iron intake patterns were collected through interviews using the 24-hour food recall method taken twice. Data on hemoglobin levels were obtained from collection with a portable Hb meter. In 109 samples, the most common results were deficient protein intake (78.0%), deficient iron intake (75.2%), and normal hemoglobin (72.5%). and methodology are arranged in the form of past tense, while the results and conclusions in the form of simple present tense.

Abstract

Pond farmers in Pinrang district generally provide feed that is still traditional, such as when to give it and the amount of feed, so that each harvest yields less than optimal results. This research was designed to create a vaname shrimp feed guide application to make it easier for farmers to obtain information on ideal feed. This research uses quantitative methods with Android Studio as a text editor and Java as a programming language. Research shows that the application makes it easier for pond farmers to get information and guidance on shrimp cultivation. The results showed that on the 10th day the first pond had an average body weight of 1.65 grams using 104 kg of feed, the second pond had an average body weight of 1.55 grams using 62 kg of feed with an average increase of 0.1 gram every day

Abstract

Background: Anemia is predominantly attributed to blood loss, particularly in adolescent girls during menstruation, and insufficient consumption of iron-rich foods. Iron-rich food sources include almonds, leafy greens, and red meat. Pharmacological interventions to address low hemoglobin levels in teenagers included the weekly intake of iron tablets, whilst non-pharmacological strategies involved the daily ingestion of mung bean juice. This study sought to assess the impact of iron tablet and mung bean juice administration on hemoglobin level enhancement in adolescent girls at a Junior High School in Samarinda. Methods: The research employed a quasi-experimental approach featuring a nonequivalent control group. The sampling strategy employed a non-probability method via purposive sampling. The researcher established the sampling according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria utilizing the Federer formula, resulting in 18 individuals in both the control and intervention groups. The treatment group received mung bean juice for a duration of 14 days. A paired T-test was used to analyze the difference in hemoglobin levels before and after therapy.  Results: The analysis produced a p-value < 0.001, which is less than 0.05, leading to the conclusion that the intervention group exhibited a greater increase in hemoglobin levels compared to the control group. Conclusion: The administration of Fe tablets and mung bean juice effectively increased hemoglobin levels in teenage girls at the Junior High School in Samarinda. Regular administration of iron tablets and mung bean juice is recommended as a measure to increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls.
