Abstract

Introduction: Stroke was the second leading cause of death in the world from 2000 to 2019, reached 11% of total deaths. Delay in pre-hospital treatment of stroke patients can lead to a reduced proportion of patients receiving recanalization therapy. Lack of family knowledge can cause families to seek help late when an attack occurs, the severity of the disease, repeated strokes even to death. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of health education about pre-hospital stroke management on the knowledge of families of stroke sufferers in the area of ?? Kartini Public Health Center, Pematangsiantar City. Method: The research sample were 40 family members of stroke sufferers. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data analy used the Wilcoxon test. Result: The results showed that majority of respondents before receiving health education had less knowledge as many as 22 people (55%), and majority of respondents had good knowledge as many as 29 people (72.5%) after being given health education, and there was an influence of health education about stroke pre-hospital management on the knowledge of families of stroke sufferers (p value 0.000). Conclusion: Health education can increase family knowledge.

Abstract

Improper hand washing practices caused more than half of child deaths per year due to infectious diseases. This community service activity took the form of education used lecture and demonstration with musical accompaniment about six-steps hand washing exercises, and was carried out on May 18 2024 with 50 elementary school students. The results of the activity analysis showed that there was an increase in the percentage of students' ability to wash their hands in six steps with soap from 0% to 78%. Education on hand washing with demonstrations accompanied by music for children helps improve the ability of school-aged children to wash their hands so as to maintain hand hygiene and is useful in preventing disease transmission. Health workers and teachers have an important role in teaching clean and healthy living habits to improve children's health status.

Abstract

Anak usia prasekolah memiliki kerentanan tinggi terhadap penyakit menular seperti diare dan infeksi saluran pernapasan akut (ISPA) akibat imunitas yang belum matang serta keterbatasan perilaku hidup bersih, khususnya kebersihan tangan. Cuci tangan dengan benar terbukti efektif menurunkan angka kejadian penyakit menular pada kelompok usia ini. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan cuci tangan anak prasekolah melalui metode edukasi interaktif berbasis audiovisual dan lagu Tepung Sela Cipuput. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 7 Agustus 2025 di TK Akramunnas Pekanbaru dengan peserta 53 anak prasekolah. Intervensi meliputi penayangan media audiovisual, demonstrasi, praktik bersama, serta penggunaan lagu edukatif sebagai media pembelajaran. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar observasi keterampilan cuci tangan sesuai standar WHO pada pre dan post intervensi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan keterampilan cuci tangan anak: sebelum intervensi 98,11% anak tidak mampu melakukan langkah cuci tangan dengan benar, sementara setelah intervensi 26,42% anak mampu melakukan seluruh langkah secara mandiri dan 73,58% mampu melakukan sebagian langkah dengan bantuan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan edukasi partisipatif dengan kombinasi audiovisual, demonstrasi, dan lagu anak efektif meningkatkan keterampilan cuci tangan pada anak prasekolah. Metode Tepung Sela Cipuput yang sederhana, menyenangkan, dan kontekstual dapat menjadi alternatif strategi promosi kesehatan berbasis sekolah untuk membentuk kebiasaan hidup bersih sejak dini.

Abstract

Kejadian henti jantung di luar rumah sakit (Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest/OHCA) merupakan tantangan kesehatan yang besar di dunia, dimana rata-rata orang dewasa yang mengalami OHCA yaitu 55 orang per 100.000 orang setiap tahun. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat awam tentang Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) dalam penanganan cardiac arrest di luar rumah sakit. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu pelatihan kepada masyarakat awam tentang Bantuan Hidup Dasar yang meliputi: pengkajian pengetahuan dan keterampilan awal (pre test), pelatihan dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab serta demonstrasi resusitasi jantung paru, penilaian pengetahuan dan keterampilan setelah pelatihan (post test). Kegiatan pelatihan ini dihadiri 34 orang masyarakat awam (resimen mahasiswa, satpol Pamong Praja, security) di aula Korem 022/PT Pematangsiantar. Hasil analisa data diperoleh rata-rata skor pengetahuan masyarakat awam sebelum mengikuti pelatihan yaitu 5,82 sedangkan rata-rata skor pengetahuan sesudah mengikuti pelatihan meningkat menjadi 18,24. Rata-rata skor keterampilan masyarakat awam tentang Bantuan Hidup Dasar sebelum mengikuti pelatihan yaitu 7,29, sedangkan rata-rata skor keterampilan sesudah mengikuti pelatihan meningkat menjadi 15,06. Terdapat pengaruh pelatihan tentang Bantuan Hidup Dasar terhadap pengetahuan (p value=0,000) dan keterampilan (p value=0,000) masyarakat awam. Peran serta petugas kesehatan diperlukan dalam memberikan pelatihan yang rutin dan berkesinambungan untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat awam tentang BHD.

Abstract

The use of this medium is expected to help students better understand and retain information about leaves, thereby contributing to improved learning outcomes in biology as a whole. This study aims to develop an effective Augmented Reality (AR)-based flashcard learning medium for the topic of leaf types. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 25 biology education students who had completed the Plant Morphology course, selected through a purposive sampling technique. The validation results indicated that the AR flashcard learning medium demonstrated a very high level of feasibility. Media expert validation obtained a score of 89.3%, while material expert validation yielded a score of 90%, both categorized as “highly feasible.” Furthermore, the evaluation based on educators’ responses achieved a score of 100%, also classified as “highly feasible.” These findings suggest that the AR-based flashcard learning medium received highly positive responses and proved effective in enhancing students’ interest and motivation in learning plant morphology.
