Abstract

ABSTRACT Family support is a form of interpersonal relationship that includes attitudes, actions, and acceptance of family members, so that family members feel that someone cares about them. increase self-ability to the situation experienced (Effendy, 2021). Low self-efficacy can increase risk, it is found that the majority of family self-efficacy is low because the family's understanding and ability to care for schizophrenia patients is not so good, resulting in a higher possibility of relapse. Relapse of patients with mental disorders has a major impact on the family and the development of family members. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between family support and self-efficacy with the frequency of relapse of schizophrenia patients in the inpatient room. The approach used in this study was cross-sectional, with a descriptive correlation method. The sampling method in this study used a type of non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique so that the final sample needed in this study was 68 respondents. The instruments used in this study were family support questionnaires, self-efficacy and relapse of schizophrenia patients. To prove the existence of a significant relationship between the independent variables, namely family support and work self-efficacy with the dependent variable, namely the frequency of recurrence of schizophrenia, the chi-squer test was used with the help of computerization at 5% (0.05). The results showed that there is a relationship between family support and the frequency of relapse of schizophrenia patients p (0.007) < α (0.05). there is a relationship between self efficacy with the frequency of relapse of schizophrenia patients p value (0.005) < α (0.05).   Keywords: Family Support, Relapse, Schizophrenia  ABSTRAK Dukungan keluarga adalah suatu bentuk hubungan interpersonal yang meliputi sikap, tindakan, dan penerimaan terhadap anggota keluarga, sehingga anggota keluarga merasa ada yang memperhatikannya. meningkatkan kemampuan diri terhadap situasi yang dialami. Self-efficacy rendah dapat meningkatkan risiko, didapatkan bahwa self-efficacy keluarga mayoritas rendah karena pemahaman dan kemampuan keluarga dalam merawat pasien skizofrenia belum begitu baik, sehingga mengakibatkan kemungkinan untuk kambuh semakin tinggi. Kekambuhan pasien gangguan jiwa memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap keluarga dan perkembangan anggota keluarga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi hubungan dukungan keluarga dan self efficacy dengan frekuensi kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia di ruang rawat inap. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini cross-sectional, dengan metode deskriptif korelasi. Metode pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis non probability sampling dengan tehnik purposive sampling sehingga sampel akhir yang dibutuhkan dalam penelitian ini adalah 68 responden. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuesioner dukungan keluarga, self-efficacy dan kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia. Untuk membuktikan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel bebas yaitu dukungan keluarga dan self eficacy kerja dengan variabel terikat yaitu frekuensi kekambuhan skizofrenia digunakan uji  chi-squer dengan bantuan komputerisasi pada bebas kemaknaan 5% (0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan frekuensi kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia p (0,007) <   (0,05).   ada hubungan self efficacy dengan frekuensi kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia nilai  p (0,005) <   (0,05).  Keluarga harus memberikan dukungan pada pasien skizofrenia dan meningkatkan self efficacy melalui kunjungan ke rumah sakit untuk mendapatkan informasi atau penyuluhan tentang manajemen kesehatan jiwa utnuk mencegah kekambuhan berulang. Kata Kunci: Dukungan Keluarga, Kekambuhan, Skizofrenia

Abstract

Adolescence represents a critical developmental stage during which individuals are highly vulnerable to mental health challenges. Early detection of mental health issues enables adolescents to identify and mitigate potential mental disorders at an initial stage. Mental health education plays a pivotal role in equipping teenagers with the knowledge and skills necessary for early detection. This study aims to evaluate the impact of mental health education on adolescents' knowledge and capacity to engage in early detection of mental health issues, with a focus on students at SMK Swasta Abdi Nusantara. The research adopts a pre-experimental approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample comprises 70 respondents, selected through a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, yielding a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. The findings indicate a significant effect of mental health education on adolescents’ knowledge and ability to conduct early detection of mental health issues. These results underscore the importance of mental health education programs in schools. Community health workers, particularly mental health nurses, are encouraged to optimize mental health initiatives by integrating education programs into school settings, thereby contributing to the prevention of mental disorders among adolescents.

Abstract

Literasi  kesehatan  mental  merupakan  kemampuan  yang  dimiliki  seseorang  untuk  dapat mengakses, memahami, menilai dan menerapkan informasi kesehatan sehingga dapat membuat penilaian dan mengambil keputusan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari mengenai perawatan kesehatan, pencegahan dan promosi kesehatan untuk menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup. Adapun tujuan akhir yang ingin dicapai melalui pengabdian ini adalah teridentifikasinya literasi kesehatan mental remaja dan meningkatnya literasi remaja tentang masalah kesehatan mental. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan identifikasi literasi kesehatan mental remaja adalah pretest dengan metode quiz, yaitu memberikan lembar pertanyaan yang diisi oleh remaja. Kemudian untuk kegiatan edukasi dengan metode ceramah, diskusi dan brainstorming pada 60 remaja yang bersekolah di SMP Swasta PAB 9 Klambir Lima Kebun. Hasil pengabdian dapat dilihat bahwa literasi remaja mengenai konsep kesehatan mental masih kurang yaitu sebesar 43% remaja menjawab salah pertanyaan. Diharapkan edukasi tetap diberikan oleh pihak sekolah secara berkesinambungan untuk dapat memantau status kesehatan mental remaja. Dan petugas kesehatan dapat bekerjasama dengan pihak sekolah dalam pengembangan program kesehatan mental remaja

Abstract

The eruption of Mount Sinabung is a natural disaster that occurred in Batukarang Village, Payung District, Karo Regency. In addition to physical conditions, this disaster affected the psychosocial condition of the community, especially children and adolescents. As a result of disasters, children and adolescents experience anxiety, stress, fear, PTSD, depression, etc. These symptoms can affect the development of adolescents themselves. This study aims to determine the psychosocial development of children and adolescents after the Sinabung eruption. Descriptive research design with a sample of 94 school-age children and 94 adolescents. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The results showed that the psychosocial development of school-age children was in good category as many as 6 children (6.4%), and sufficient psychosocial development was 88 children (93.6%). While the psychosocial development of adolescents 81.9% experienced sufficient psychosocial development, 18.1% adolescents experienced good psychosocial development. The results of this study can assist mental nurses in providing psychological and social support after a disaster with a mental nursing approach so that the psychosocial development of disaster victims, especially adolescents, goes well and can improve the mental health of disaster victims.

Abstract

Background: It is hypothesised that thought stopping and assertive training represent a behavioural therapy that may assist in overcoming negative thoughts that impede relaxation and, consequently, the reduction of hypertension. It is proposed that medication compliance represents a pivotal factor in the management of blood pressure in patients with hypertension.. Method: The objective of this study was to ascertain the efficacy of thought stopping in enhancing compliance with hypertension treatment. The research design employed was a pretest-posttest group design with a control group. The study employed a pretest-posttest group design with a control group to compare the results of the group that received Thought Stopping treatment (the intervention group) with the group that received Assertive Training Results: The data obtained on the level of compliance with taking anti-hypertensive drugs before and after the intervention revealed that 12.5% of the participants were compliant, while 87.5% were non-compliant. The statistical test results for the variable of thought stopping therapy yielded a p-value of 0.201, indicating that there was no statistically significant difference in the mean systolic blood pressure between the pre- and post-therapy periods at the 5% alpha level. Similarly, the statistical test results for the variable of thought stopping therapy yielded a p-value of 0.093, indicating that there was no statistically significant difference in the mean diastolic blood pressure between the pre- and post-therapy periods at the 5% alpha level. Conclusion: The administration of Thought Stopping Therapy did not result in a statistically significant change in the mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure values between the pre- and post-therapy periods.

Abstract

The rising incidence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii infections underscores the urgent need for novel antimicrobial strategies. The aim of this study was to investigate the synergistic effects between a polyphenol-rich extract from Phyllanthus emblica fruit and tetracycline against MDR A. baumannii strains. The extraction process was optimized using the Box-Behnken design approach to maximize the total phenolic content (TPC) of the P. emblica extract. Key variables, including ethanol concentration, extraction time, and solid-to-liquid ratio (w/v), were determined through single-factor experiments. The antimicrobial activity of the extract, both alone and in combination with tetracycline, was evaluated against A. baumannii. Mechanistic studies focusing on bacterial lysis and efflux pump inhibition were conducted to assess the extract's effects and its combined potential with tetracycline. The Box-Behnken design successfully optimized the extraction conditions, yielding the highest TPC at 68.92% ethanol concentration, 1.85 days of extraction time, and a 1:9.58 w/v ratio. The predicted and experimentally verified TPC values of the extract were 129.19 and 130.76±2.46 mg GAE/g samples, respectively, with no significant difference (p>0.05). The extract contained several phenolic compounds identified using liquid chromatography–high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS). It exhibited antimicrobial activity against MDR Acinetobacter baumannii, either alone or in combination with tetracycline. The combination demonstrated a synergistic effect against MDR A. baumannii, with a fractional inhibitory concentration index (FICI) of 0.37. Moreover, the combination showed superior bacteriolytic effects against MDR A. baumannii cells, as evidenced by increased release of nucleic acid components and membrane destabilization, compared to the extract or tetracycline alone (p<0.0001 for all comparisons). Additionally, the combination significantly enhanced the efflux pump inhibition effect compared to the extract or tetracycline alone (p<0.05 for both). These findings support the potential use of polyphenol-rich P. emblica extracts as adjuncts to conventional antibiotics in treating drug-resistant bacterial infections.

Abstract

Pola komunikasi yang baik akan menciptakan pola asuh yang baik, dan pengasuhan remaja yang baik akan dapat menangkal masalah-masalah yang mungkin terjadi proses tumbuh kembang remaja. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain studi kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi yang bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman remaja tentang pola komunikasi keluarga. Pengambilan partisipan penelitian adalah non probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah keluarga yang berdasarkan hasil deteksi dini memiliki anak remaja dalam kategori resiko dan gangguan masalah kesehatan jiwa yaitu 24 keluarga di Kelurahan Medan Sunggal. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan bantuan alat bantu perekam (record handpone), panduan wawancara dan catatan lapangan (field note) dan data dianalisa dengan content analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola komunikasi yang terjadi antara orangtua dan anak remaja menghasilkan 2 tema yaitu waktu berkomunikasi, keterampilan komunikasi dan hubungan orangtua dan anak. Temuan ini dapat menjadi masukan buat keluara agar memberi waktu dan kesempatan kepada remaja sebagai upaya penguatan promotif dan preventif sehingga remaja tidak mengalami resiko dan gangguan masalah kesehatan jiwa.

Abstract

The family's understanding of fulfilling the patient's needs and patient behaviour that is difficult to understand results in problems in the relationship between the family and the patient, which can ultimately cause stress in the family. This stressful condition can affect the attitudes, behaviour and interpersonal relationships of family members who care for scozyprenia patients. This study aims to examine the effect of triangle family therapy on family stress caring for schizophrenic clients at the Special Prof.Dr.M. Ildrem Mental Hospital. The research method uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest and post-test non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique is a non-probability sampling technique, namely the purposive sampling method. The population in this study were all families who had family members who have schizophrenia. The respondents of this study were families who had family members who have schizophrenia in the Technical Implementing Service Unit (UPTD) Special Outpatient Room at the Mental Hospital Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Medan, consisting of 30 intervention group respondents and 30 control group respondents. The fatigue measurement instrument uses the Perceived Stress Questionnaire (PSQ). Data were analyzed using independent t-tests and paired t-tests. The research results found that triangle family therapy significantly reduced family stress caring for schizophrenia patients with a p-value <0.05. The conclusion is that triangle family therapy is effective in reducing family stress in caring for schizophrenia patients and is recommended as a nursing intervention to reduce family stress caring for schizophrenia patients.Keywords: Schizophrenia, Stress, Triangle family therapy

Abstract

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a mental development disorder that becomes a problem for parents if it is not treated immediately. So that parents can increase their resilience and bounce back from difficulties wisely. The type of research is descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. This research aims to analyze the relationship between self-regulation and the resilience of parents with children with ADHD at Special School-C Karya Tulus Tuntungan II. The type of research is descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. Technique. Sampling is purposive sampling. This research's respondents were parents with children with ADHD at Special School-C Karya Tulus Tuntungan II, totalling 50 respondents. This research was carried out from March 27 to May 5 2024. The instruments used were the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and the self-regulation questionnaire (SRQ). Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank statistical test. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents (74.0% had self-regulation in the capable category, there was a strong positive relationship between self-regulation and the resilience of parents who have children with ADHD with a Pearson correlation value of +0.450, p-value -value=0.001; p>0.05). The conclusion is that there is a relationship between self-regulation and the resilience of parents who have children with ADHD at  Special School -C Karya Tulus Tuntungan II, which is quite strong and in the same direction. It is recommended as a nursing intervention that can be developed to explore self-regulation and resilience in patients and families, especially in parents who have children with ADHD.Keywords: ADHD, parent, Self-regulation, Resilience

Abstract

Background: Academic anxiety is one of the issues often faced by teenagers, especially high school students. This anxiety can arise due to high academic demands, parental expectations, competition among students, and pressure to achieve good academic performance. Purpose: To determine academic anxiety among adolescents. Method: This quantitative descriptive study involved all 363 12th-grade students at Kutacane 1 State Senior High School in 2024. Purposive sampling was used to select 50 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire and univariate analysis. Results: Academic anxiety in adolescents was mostly categorized as severe anxiety (37 respondents (74.0%) and moderate anxiety (13 respondents (26.0%). Conclusion: The majority of respondents experienced emotional symptoms in the form of worry about learning outcomes and fear of bad grades, cognitive disorders such as confusion and doubt during exams, as well as physical manifestations in the form of sweaty hands and a pounding heart. Suggestion: Schools are expected to provide psychological support programs such as regular counseling, stress management training, and coping skills to help students manage academic anxiety, especially before exams or other important evaluation moments.   Keywords: Academic; Anxiety; Adolescents; High School Students; Academic Pressure.   Pendahuluan: Kecemasan akademik salah satu masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh remaja, terutama siswa sekolah menengah atas. Kecemasan ini dapat muncul akibat tuntutan akademik yang tinggi, ekspektasi orang tua, kompetisi antar siswa, hingga tekanan untuk meraih prestasi akademik yang baik. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui kecemasan akademik pada remaja. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa/siswi kelas XII di MAN 1 Kutacane tahun 2024 sebanyak 363 siswa/siswi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan diperoleh sebanyak 50 responden sebagai sampel, sesuai kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner dan analisis univariat. Hasil: Kecemasan akademik pada remaja mayoritas dalam kategori kecemasan berat sebanyak 37 responden (74.0%) dan kecemasan sedang sebanyak 13 responden (26.0%). Simpulan: Mayoritas responden mengalami gejala emosional berupa kekhawatiran terhadap hasil belajar dan ketakutan terhadap nilai buruk, gangguan kognitif seperti kebingungan dan keraguan saat ujian, serta manifestasi fisik berupa tangan berkeringat dan jantung berdebar. Saran: Pihak sekolah diharapkan dapat menyediakan program pendampingan psikologis seperti konseling rutin, pelatihan manajemen stres, dan keterampilan coping untuk membantu siswa mengelola kecemasan akademik, khususnya menjelang ujian atau momen evaluasi penting lainnya.   Kata Kunci : Akademik; Kecemasan; Remaja.
