Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial attitude, reference groups, and self-confidence on entrepreneurial intention among students of the Faculty of Economics at Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, the research involved 83 active students selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using data quality tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that, partially, entrepreneurial attitude and self-confidence have a positive and significant effect on students’ entrepreneurial intention. In contrast, reference groups show a positive but not significant effect, suggesting that social support does not necessarily play a decisive role in shaping entrepreneurial intention. However, when analyzed simultaneously, all three variables have a significant influence on entrepreneurial intention. These findings highlight the importance of fostering positive attitudes and self-confidence through entrepreneurial training, networking, and experiential learning. The study recommends integrating entrepreneurial content into the curriculum, extending internship periods, providing entrepreneurship briefing forums, and developing campus business incubators. Future research is encouraged to focus on more specific educational settings, such as religious-based universities, and consider replacing the reference group variable with other more relevant factors.

Abstract

The community service program in Sengonkerep Village, Gedangsari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, aims to rehabilitate critical land and empower the community through participatory-based reforestation. The community service team, apart from the Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University academic community, also involved foreign campuses: Thepsatri Rajabhat University (TRU) Thailand, Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Philippines and Dong Nai Technology University (DNTU) Vietnam. This activity involves the community in every stage, from preparation, counseling, training, to tree planting. A total of 1,200 trees consisting of sengon (500 trees), jackfruit (100 trees), soursop (100 trees), and munggur (500 trees) were planted in critical areas prone to erosion. This program aims to reduce erosion, improve soil quality, and increase water retention. In addition, the training provided to the community has improved their knowledge and skills in tree planting and maintenance. The evaluation results indicate a significant increase in the community's knowledge regarding reforestation techniques and environmental sustainability. This program has provided positive ecological and socio-economic impacts, with the hope of improving the environmental quality and the community's income in the long term.

Abstract

General Background: Employee performance is a key determinant of organizational success, particularly in public service institutions. Specific Background: At the Social Service Office of Gunungkidul Regency, performance optimization is essential to meet increasing administrative and social demands. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies have addressed individual factors such as workload, stress, or motivation, limited research integrates these variables simultaneously within local government contexts in Indonesia. Aims: This study aims to examine the influence of workload, work stress, and work motivation on employee performance—both individually (partially) and collectively (simultaneously). Results: Using a quantitative ex post facto design with total sampling of 45 civil servants and contract workers, data were collected via validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that workload, work stress, and motivation each have a positive and significant effect on performance. Notably, moderate work stress (eustress) enhances alertness and discipline. Collectively, the three variables account for 82.5% of the variance in employee performance. Novelty: The study highlights the constructive role of moderate stress in public service performance, a nuance often overlooked in stress-performance literature. Implications: These findings suggest that managing optimal levels of workload, stress, and motivation is critical to enhancing public sector employee performance. Highlights: Balanced stress (eustress) can enhance employee effectiveness. Motivation significantly drives public service performance. Combined variables explain 82.5% of performance outcomes. Keywords: Workload, Work Stress, Work Motivation, Employee Performance, Public Sector

Abstract

This study aims to simultaneously analyze the influence of person-job fit and transformational leadership on employee performance, as well as examine how power distance acts as a moderating variable in this relationship. A quantitative approach with a causal method was used to test the cause-and-effect relationships between variables. The population of this research includes all 200 employees of Bakpia Pathok 25 Pathok Jaya, with a sample of 134 respondents selected through stratified sampling based on work divisions. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests), and hypothesis testing using T-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²) analysis. The results showed that person-job fit had a negative effect on performance, indicating that lower compatibility between individuals and their jobs leads to decreased employee performance. On the other hand, transformational leadership had a positive effect on performance, showing that a strong transformational leadership style can enhance employee performance. However, power distance as a moderating variable did not strengthen the effect of either person-job fit or transformational leadership on performance. Thus, although power distance plays a role in organizational dynamics, it does not serve as a decisive factor in reinforcing the relationship between leadership or job fit and employee performance. These findings have important implications for human resource management in creating an effective and adaptive work environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of work environment, job satisfaction, and job stress on turnover intention among employees at DM Baru Retailindo, Bantul. The research adopts a quantitative design, involving the entire employee population as the sample, totaling 49 respondents, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through structured questionnaires, and the responses were analyzed using multiple statistical methods to assess both partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on turnover intention. The findings indicate that the work environment exerts a positive and significant effect on turnover intention, suggesting that certain aspects of the workplace may contribute to employees’ desire to leave. Conversely, job satisfaction demonstrates a negative and significant effect, meaning that higher levels of satisfaction are associated with lower turnover intention. Additionally, job stress shows a positive and significant influence, implying that increased stress levels elevate the likelihood of employees intending to resign. The simultaneous analysis confirms that the three factors collectively have a significant impact on turnover intention. These results hold important practical implications for human resource management at DM Baru Retailindo. Efforts to improve the physical and social aspects of the work environment, enhance job satisfaction through recognition and career development, and mitigate job stress through workload management could contribute to lowering turnover rates. The study provides valuable insights for managerial decision-making and may serve as a reference for future research aimed at strengthening employee retention strategies and ensuring organizational sustainability.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of work ethic, work discipline, and communication on employee performance at the Yogyakarta Special Region Tourism Office. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing a structured questionnaire distributed to all 74 employees through a census sampling method. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25, incorporating statistical tests such as normality, multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The findings reveal that work discipline and communication have a significant positive impact on employee performance, while work ethic does not exhibit a direct effect. Strong work discipline fosters accountability and productivity, whereas effective communication enhances collaboration and efficiency. These results underscore the necessity for organizations to reinforce discipline and communication strategies to optimize employee performance. The study contributes to the understanding of workplace dynamics by emphasizing key determinants of productivity. Future research should explore additional factors influencing employee performance, particularly in the context of technological advancements and evolving work environments.
