Abstract

This study focuses on answering the question of whether there is an influence of aquatic water games on the critical thinking skills of children aged 5-6 years in one of the kindergarten schools (TK) in Pohuwato Regency. The research method used is quantitative pre-experimental experiment (on-group pretest-posttest design). The sample in this study was 15 children in class B. The results of the study showed that the average pre-test value was 19.06 with a standard deviation of 3.5550 and the average post-test value was 35.06 with a standard deviation of 1.3870. These results prove that there is a significant influence before and after treatment. Based on the hypothesis testing that has been carried out through the t-test, it shows that the sig. (2-tailed) value is obtained, namely the t-count value of 20.6559 and the t-table value at the 0.05 real level is 2.145. So t-count> t-table then H0 is rejected or H1 is accepted. This means that there is an influence of aquatic water games on critical thinking skills in children aged 5-6 years

Abstract

Increasing student knowledge requires the availability of adequate learning resources to support the learning process. The development of kvisoft flipbook-based teaching materials is one of the important components to attract students' attention, is easy to understand and can be accessed anywhere so that students can study independently and get good quality learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to determine the design process for developing flipbook-based e-modules, the feasibility of e-modules, and determine student responses to e-modules teaching. This research method is the development of Research and Development using the ADDIE model which in its implementation uses 5 stages, namely: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Limited trial with 50 third-semester students of PGPAUD UNG. Based on the results of the material validation assessment, media experts got score of 98.89% in the "very strong" interpretation category and student response sheets score of 89.45% in the "very strong" interpretation category. Therefore, that students have the motivation to learn independently, are able to review learning so that in class learning becomes two-way and student-centered. However, in this research, the researcher only applied basic competencies for compiling material in e-modules with the help of kvisoft flipbook so that in future research they can develop e-modules in other basic competencies and use a high-level approach that can help hone students' abilities in other subjects so that they can improve their skills in other subjects. there have been many developments in teaching materials that are easy for students to use in independent study.

Abstract

With the amount of abundant information in an online environment, critical literacy is needed to encounter misinformation and disinformation. Critical literacy can be taught from the early age to strength the ability to understand information and to think the meaning of information, stories, events, pictures and others. The research aim was to explore the critical literacy activities in early childhood education using a picture book and contextual setting with the theme of environment activities. The research used a qualitative approach using thematic analysis. Themes were gathered through observations and conversations with children. All information and patterns were coded and interpreted to create themes. The sample used purposive sampling, from 13 children aged 5 to 6-year-old in the coastal region of the Tomini Gulf during their literacy activities. The results showed that children had an awareness to connect the issue from the topic to their daily lives. These activities give children the chance to voice their opinion and solution even though the exploration to this activity has not been fully maximized. Lastly, children engaged in the literacy activity through identifying and creating meaning from the pictures and other clues of the book. Therefore, implementing critical literacy should integrate familiar settings and picture books that in line to children’s literacy.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan di Desa Kayubulan Kecamatan Batudaa Pantai adalah untuk melatih kemampuan warga desa, termasuk guru PAUD untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya alam (SDA) untuk lebih bernilai ekonomis dan dapat dipasarkan secara digital. Dalam pengabdian ini, pemanfaatan media sosial digunakan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat bahwa sosial media dapat memudahkan kegiatan promosi produk. Selain itu, pelatihan pembuatan media belajar atau alat permainan edukatif (APE) juga diajarkan, seperti penggunaan cangkang kerang yang ada dapat dibuat menjadi aksesoris atau sebagai APE di Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) dan Sekolah Dasar (SD). Baik model promosi melalui sosial media dan pembuatan media/aksesoris dilakukan secara langsung melalui workshop, dimulai dengan pemberian materi, praktik terbimbing, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas masyarakat yang mengikuti kegiatan merasa puas dengan yang rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian dan bahwa menyarankan untuk keberlanjutan dari program ini untuk memaksimalkan inovasi dan eksplorasi dari SDA yang tersedia di lokasi ini.

Abstract

The Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Indonesia has experienced major change due to government policy in the last ten years. The aim of this paper is to explore and examine the implications of the policy for the Early Childhood teachers using Foucault’s concepts as important guides for this discussion. There are three major changes that indicate the reform of ECE, (1) the need of improving the early childhood teachers’ qualification; (2) monitoring teacher’s performance; and (3) reflection on teacher’s ethics. These major changes are linked to the concepts of Foucault reveals that normalizing is emphasising to construct and target the teacher’s identities. The second concept is surveillance that is needed to maintain the regulations in every detail school, particularly on teacher’s performance. Lastly, reflection for ethical judgement and concern is essential in order to achieve moral conduct on teaching practice. Throughout this analysis, it shows that it is better if the government can fully identify the difficulty of teachers in order to establish the regulation. More importantly, giving more supports to provide sufficient facilities and programs that can be reached for all teachers is a recommended strategy. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability to pronounce common vocabulary among early childhood students at TK Putri Ananda. This research employed a quantitative descriptive design. The subjects of the study were 34 students, consisting of 18 boys and 16 girls. The instruments used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study revealed that girls had a higher ability to pronounce common vocabulary than boys. Furthermore, two children were found to have not yet been able to pronounce common vocabulary words perfectly. These findings indicate a difference in vocabulary pronunciation ability between male and female early childhood students at TK Putri Ananda.
