Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the appropriateness and condition of educational facilities in compliance with Ministerial Regulation No. 24 of 2007, as well as the relationship between these facilities and the curriculum at Integrated Islamic Primary Schools (SDIT) in Bandung, West Java. In this study, nine full-day SDITs were reviewed using a qualitative methodology that included snowball sampling. According to the findings, although the majority of schools are able to meet the infrastructure standards, there are disparities in the conditions of the facilities, such as differences in classroom size, ventilation, and library resources, which show that there is a need for changes. Furthermore, the variety of curricular applications, which can range from national to international systems, has a considerable impact on the spatial organisation of school facilities as well as the functional criteria that must be met. It is necessary to have appropriate infrastructure assistance in order to facilitate the integration of various curricular aspects in order to cultivate an effective learning environment that is respectful of Islamic educational ideals. According to the findings of this study, improving facility standards and bringing them into closer alignment with the requirements of a wide variety of curricula can have a considerable positive impact on educational outcomes.

Abstract

Dormitories for girls at the secondary education level require facilities that are suitable for the needs of girls aged between 12 and 18 years. This research aims to determine the optimal spatial layout for girls' dormitories, based on the space requirements for both main activities and supporting activities, using a sample of five boarding schools in West Java. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method that commences with data collection through surveys, observations, and a review of relevant literature pertaining to dormitories. This research not only begins by analyzing the existing spaces but also delves into factors influencing the presence of these spaces, specifically examining the availability of dormitory, and supporting room facilities through the assessment of suitability using a survey checklist of various variables. The results indicate that different space optimization patterns were observed in the five boarding schools, which depended on the management concept of each dormitory. These patterns were adjusted to the existing conditions of the dormitory, considering the adaptation and utilization of available spaces. In general, all dormitories have met the standards and space optimization patterns according to the criteria set by each dormitory manager. Consequently, further research is warranted, particularly in relation to the management concept and the spatial arrangement based on the dormitory's brand identity.

Abstract

The prevalence of mental health issues among adolescents in Indonesia has significantly increased; however, this rise has not been accompanied by adequate recovery facilities, particularly for this vulnerable age group. Existing mental health recovery facilities predominantly emphasize conventional psychotherapy methods. In contrast, art therapy provides a more engaging and interactive approach by utilizing art as a medium to facilitate the recovery process. Therefore, this study aims to identify the essential facilities required in an art therapy center, particularly in supporting the recovery of mental health disorders among adolescents in Indonesia. The research approach was conducted using an inductive qualitative method, including observation and field surveys at established art therapy facilities. This method, is analyzes data, essentially involving producing an overall summary of the content of the data set. The findings indicate that art therapy is a deeply personal experience for each individual, as it involves expressing emotions. Because of this, the approach should be personalized to each person's unique needs and supported with a variety of art media and appropriate facilities to support a meaningful and effective creative process. Due to the complexity of various methods that can be used in art therapy, further research is needed to explore the relationship between art therapy methods and the design of specialized art therapy spaces.
