Abstract

Service quality is one of the key factors in the tourism industry as it shapes customer satisfaction and fosters consumer loyalty. Positive experiences perceived by tourists through direct interactions with service providers strengthen their intention to make repeat purchases (repurchase intention). This study analyzes the effect of service quality on customer satisfaction and repurchase intention in tour packages, with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The sample was obtained through purposive sampling from consumers who had used tour package services. The results show that service quality has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction (coefficient = 0.442; T-Statistic = 7.947; P-Value = 0.000) and repurchase intention (coefficient = 0.592; T-Statistic = 9.380; P-Value = 0.000). In addition, customer satisfaction also positively influences repurchase intention (coefficient = 0.393; T-Statistic = 6.968; P-Value = 0.000). The f-square analysis indicates that the direct effect of service quality on repurchase intention falls into the large category with 51.76%, while the mediating contribution of customer satisfaction is 22.71% with a medium effect size. These findings highlight that service quality influences repurchase intention not only directly but also indirectly through customer satisfaction. The practical implication of this study emphasizes the importance for tourism service providers to maintain consistent, reliable, and customer-oriented service quality in order to create sustainable satisfaction and enhance repurchase intention.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of self-compassion on mental health, with emotion regulation as a mediator variable. Adolescents experience rapid physical, cognitive, emotional and psychological changes in themselves that have the potential to cause mental health problems. The key to success in maintaining mental health is learning to be kind and compassionate to oneself, especially in stressful and difficult situations, or self-compassion. Self-compassion plays an important role in mental health outcomes, where self-compassion will include the emotion regulation component, helping individuals to face and understand negative emotions as adaptive coping. Effective emotion regulation will shape healthy adolescents, so it is suggested that emotion regulation may mediate the influence of self-compassion on mental health. This research uses quantitative methods and was conducted on 574 high school students in Medan, aged 14-19 years. The instruments used were the Warwick Edinburg Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS), the Self-Compassion Scale, and the Emotion Regulation Scale. The results of the mediation analysis using PLS-SEM4 show that emotion regulation significantly mediates the influence between self-compassion and mental health (T-statistic = 3.694 > 1.96 and P-values = .000 < .05). The results showed that emotion regulation plays a partial role in the effect of self-compassion on mental health. Adolescents who practise self-compassion will try to develop positive thinking skills and reduce the pressure and tension resulting from negative emotions, which will ultimately improve their mental health.

Abstract

Academic achievement reflects the level of success students achieve in college studies. Based on observation, a prominent factor that typically influence this metric is family roles, particularly through the mediation of noble character. Therefore, this research aims to examine the mediating role of noble character on the relationship between family roles and student academic achievement. In order to achieve the stated objective, 201 college students were selected using cluster stratified random sampling, which served as the sample in this explanatory quantitative research. Accordingly, three key variables observed during the course of the exploration include family function, noble character scales, and student cumulative achievement index. A mediation test was also carried out using Jamovi statistical software 2.0.0 to determine the relationship between the key variables. The obtained results from the test showed that family function did not directly influence educational achievement. Instead, it only determined academic achievement through the instillation of noble character in students. Based on this result, an inference was made that noble character significantly mediated the relationship between family function and academic achievement.

Abstract

Nurses are health services provider professionals. The work demands have detrimental effects on nurses' physical and mental health, which risk their psychological well-being. The psychologically well nurses will provide high-quality care with implications for patient recovery. Interpersonal relationships with co-workers and superiors influence nurses' well-being. Poor treatment in the work environment (workplace incivility) can cause nurses to be psychologically unwell. However, we do not yet know how workplace incivility affects psychological well-being. This study aims to examine the effect of workplace incivility on nurses' psychological well-being through the mediation of emotional exhaustion. This explanatory quantitative study involved 270 health nurses at Hospital X Medan. We analyzed data using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the Smart-PLS program. Results indicated that emotional exhaustion mediated the effect of workplace incivility on nurses' psychological well-being. This study contributes to nurses' well-being intervention, which is influenced by workplace incivility and mediated by emotional exhaustion.

Abstract

Divorce transforms an individual into a single parent, prompting them to place their children in Islamic boarding schools for enhanced supervision. The repercussions of divorce on adolescents are substantial, particularly for those in boarding schools. These adolescents often grapple with heightened academic stress, attributable to rigorous learning demands and a lack of parental support, resulting in diminished psychological well-being. This study endeavors to implement resilience training as a pilot intervention, aiming to alleviate academic stress and enhance the psychological well-being of adolescents in boarding schools with divorced parents. The research design adopts a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group format, encompassing 30 adolescents. The evaluation tools employed include the ESSSA educational stress scale for adolescents (16 items), a psychological well-being assessment (42 items), and a resilience measurement (19 items). Utilizing independent t-tests and paired t-tests, the findings indicate a noteworthy reduction in academic stress (p=.000) and a concurrent improvement in psychological well-being (p=.000).
