Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on society, particularly on healthcare professionals who have been at the forefront of the pandemic response. They have faced a high risk of virus exposure and have been burdened with extraordinary responsibilities in saving lives. Since the onset of the pandemic until February 2022, thousands of healthcare workers have been exposed to the virus, and some have even lost their lives. Therefore, this study was conducted to understand the factors influencing the level of anxiety among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research employed a cross-sectional survey approach and was conducted at Cut Nyak Dhien Regional General Hospital, West Aceh Regency, in November 2021. The study population consisted of 396 healthcare workers, with a sample of 304 healthcare workers selected using purposive sampling. Data collected were analyzed using logistic regression. The findings revealed that the majority of healthcare workers at Cut Nyak Dhien Hospital experienced high levels of anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic, with 72.37% experiencing panic anxiety, while 27.63% experienced non-panic anxiety. Significant factors influencing anxiety levels included family support, with an odds ratio (OR) of 2.1 and a p-value of 0.017, sufficient knowledge with an OR of 0.5 and a p-value of 0.084, and adequate provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with an OR of 2.1 and a p-value of 0.026. However, there was no significant relationship between anxiety levels and variables such as age, profession, marital status, highest education level, and comorbid conditions.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on TB patients, particularly in terms of treatment and drug monitoring. During the pandemic in 2020, there were 350 cases of TB in Aceh Besar District. This study aimed to assess the compliance of TB patients during the Covid-19 period at the Aceh Besar District Health Center. A cross-sectional study design was employed, and data were collected from 118 TB patients from April to October 2020. The research was conducted in April 2022. Questionnaires were used for data collection, and bivariate and multivariate analyses were performed using the STATA 12 application program. The results of the multivariate analysis revealed that several risk factors, including Covid-19, history of illness, sources of information, age, knowledge, and trips to the health center, were associated with non-compliance in taking OAT medications. Efforts to increase awareness and educate the public about the risk factors of TB should continue, even during the Covid-19 pandemic. Building partnerships with former TB patients who have completed treatment and recovered can also help in promoting adherence to OAT medications among current TB patients.

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the relationship between health literacy and the quality of life of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients in the Darul Imarah Sub-District Health Center, Aceh Besar District. Using an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach, the study included 1,125 DM patients, with 100 individuals selected as research samples. Data analysis involved univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis using logistic regression. The findings revealed that a majority of DM patients in the working area of the health center experienced poor quality of life (82%). Additionally, there was a significant relationship between health literacy and the quality of life of DM patients (OR=8.34; 95% CI=1.05-66.05; p=0.044). Confounding assessment identified socioeconomic status, family history of DM, access to information, and low physical activity as factors influencing the quality of life of DM patients. The multivariate analysis highlighted socioeconomic status as the most dominant factor (OR=25.43; 95% CI=2.24-288.44; p=0.009). In conclusion, DM patients in the Darul Imarah Sub-District, Aceh Besar Regency, generally have poor quality of life, with health literacy, socioeconomic factors, descent, information access, and physical activity playing significant roles in influencing it.

Abstract

The Case of Covid-19 in Indonesia from 2020 - 2021 has not shown any changes yet. The Covid-19 pandemic has crippled all areas of activity, especially in the field of education. The learning system that was previously carried out face-to-face has suddenly changed to online, where there are obstacles that trigger the emergence of stress. This study aims to determine changes in stress levels during the PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) and PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) periods and the determinants that cause changes in stress levels in students during the Covid-19 pandemic period in Aceh. This research uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all students in Aceh who were studying in Aceh with a sample of 122 students who had met the inclusion criteria using the random sampling method with two data collection times. The statistical tests used were the T-test and logistic regression test using STATA 14. The results of this study show that the stress levels experienced by students are in the moderate (63.11%) and severe (34.33%) categories. Of the 13 variables studied, there are 2 variables related to stress levels during the PSBB period, namely learning motivation and college assignments, and 3 variables related to stress levels during the PPKM period, namely college assignments, learning styles, and limited quotas with a p-value <0.05.
