Abstract

Abstract

Crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus is one of the fishery commodities that has business prospects not only as an ornamental fish commodity but also as a consumption commodity. Disease attacks caused by bacteria cannot be avoided, so one of the efforts made to increase the resistance of crayfish by giving kappa carrageenan is to increase the resistance of the crayfish. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of resistance of C. quadricarinatus to A. hydrophila bacterial infection by giving kappa carrageenan with different frequencies which is effective for increasing lobster survival after challenge tests with A. hydrophila bacteria. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (RAL) with five treatments and three replications, namely control (without injection of kappa carrageenan), 1 time, 2 times, 4 times, and 6 times of injection kappa carrageenan. During maintenance, kappa carrageenan was given at a dose of 5 μg/g of oyster by dissolving 2.5 mg in 1 ml of Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) and then injected into lobster as much as 20μl/head. on day 30, challenged with A. hydrophila bacteria. The results showed that giving kappa-carrageenan 2, 4, and 6 times showed the same results (P>0.05) on the absolute growth of crayfish. The survival rate of crayfish given kappa-carrageenan showed that the frequency of giving 4 times showed the highest survival rate. Water quality during the study consisting of oxygen 6.25 mg/l, carbodioxide 3.68 mg/l, pH 6.8, ammonia 0.17 mg/l, and temperature 26.9 °C showed that it was still in the range that was feasible as a maintenance media

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of mediators in mediating inheritance cases at the Watampone Class 1A Religious Court. Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution that aims to reach a peaceful agreement between the disputing parties. The method used in this study is qualitative with a normative juridical approach, where data is collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The results of the study show that mediators use various communication techniques to create a conducive atmosphere and reduce tension between parties. In addition, mediators also play a role in providing relevant legal information and helping parties understand their rights and obligations. The effectiveness of the mediation process carried out by mediators in inheritance cases at the Watampone Class 1A Religious Court can be seen from the level of success in reaching an agreement between the parties involved in the mediation. If the mediation succeeds in reaching an agreement that is acceptable to all parties, then the mediation process is considered effective. In addition, the court can also assess the effectiveness of mediation through the satisfaction of the parties with the results achieved. The implications of this research provide a significant contribution to understanding the mediation process in resolving inheritance cases and can serve as a reference for courts and mediators in improving the effectiveness and quality of future mediations. Thus, mediation is expected to be a more effective and efficient alternative dispute resolution process compared to litigation.

Abstract

Unregistered marriage remains a prevalent practice in Indonesia and poses serious legal vulnerabilities for wives. Although Indonesian marriage law emphasizes compulsory registration to ensure legal order, it fails to provide substantive legal protection for wives when registration is not fulfilled. This normative gap places wives in unregistered marriages in a legally precarious position, depriving them of legal recognition, civil rights, and effective protection. This study employs a normative juridical method with statute, conceptual, and case approaches to analyze the weaknesses of legal protection for wives in unregistered marriages and to formulate legal reform perspectives. The findings indicate that the current legal framework prioritizes administrative legality over substantive justice, resulting in gender-based legal inequality. The absence of alternative protection mechanisms reinforces structural vulnerability and limits access to justice for wives. Therefore, legal reform is required to shift from a purely legal-formal paradigm toward substantive protection by recognizing and safeguarding certain civil rights of wives regardless of registration status. Strengthening the role of religious courts and integrating human rights and gender equality perspectives are essential to ensure fair and effective legal protection. Such reforms are necessary to align marriage law with constitutional guarantees of legal certainty, protection, and justice.

Abstract

The completion of a final project is an essential component of higher education and often presents significant challenges for students, including those in the Physics Study Program at Universitas Jambi. Various obstacles, such as difficulties in selecting research topics, formulating research problems, designing research methodologies, and producing academic writing in accordance with scientific standards, may hinder the timely completion of studies. Therefore, this community service activity aimed to enhance students' understanding of research skills and final project writing through a webinar on research and scientific writing enhancement. The activity was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on November 20, 2025, involving students from the Physics Study Program of Universitas Jambi. The methods employed included training and academic assistance through lectures, discussions, and interactive question-and-answer sessions. The effectiveness of the activity was evaluated using pre- and post-webinar questionnaires. The results indicated an improvement in participants' understanding across all assessed aspects. The average percentage of participants categorized as not understanding and having low understanding decreased from 10.92% and 45.22% to 0.92% and 14.44%, respectively. In contrast, the average percentage of participants categorized as moderately understanding and highly understanding increased from 34.78% and 8.54% to 49.32% and 37.16%, respectively. These findings demonstrate that the webinar effectively improved students' understanding of final project preparation. Similar activities should be conducted continuously to support the improvement of scientific writing quality and the timely completion of students' studies.
