Abstract

The performance of health workers at RSU Royal Prima is experiencing a fluctuating trend so that it is still not optimal in providing services to patients and organizational responsibilities. Factors that are suspected to be related to the performance of health workers are individual, psychological, and organizational variables. This study aims to analyze the factors related to the performance of health workers. This type of research is quantitative analytic using a cross sectional design. The research was conducted at RSU Royal Prima Medan. The research population was 651 people, while the sample was 100 people. Sampling by means of simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate with chi-square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression at 95% confidence level (=0.05). The results showed that the factors related to the performance of health workers at RSU Royal Prima Medan were abilities and skills (p=0.015), motivation (p=0.033), leadership (p=0.024), and rewards (p=0.044). Factors that were not related were age (p=1.000), gender (p=1.000), perception (p=0.240), attitude (p=0.163), and job design (p=0.464). The most dominant variable relates to the performance of health workers, namely leadership. Health workers who stated good leadership had the opportunity to have good performance 8.2 times higher than health workers who stated poor leadership. It is recommended that the management of RSU Royal Prima Medan conduct continuous performance assessments of health workers.

Abstract

Background:Perception is a person's process of knowing several things through his five senses. Perception does not appear to exist because it occurs outside of awareness, but perception depends on the complex functions of the nervous system. Health service facilities, during the COVID-19 period, became something terrible for the community, where people who were sick were afraid to come to health services because they were worried about being diagnosed positively with COVID-19, whether health services during COVID-19 increased or decreased. Objective: to analyze the quality of health services on public perception at Tanjung Balai General Hospital during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Method: This type of research is observational analytic research. The research location was at the Tanjung Balai General Hospital which was carried out in November 2022. Results: Most respondents were in the 45–54-year-old age category (32.2%). Based on gender, the most were women as many as 208 people (77%). Based on work, the most were in the PNS category, with 105 people (38.9%). Based on education at most S1 as many as 63 people (23.3%). Most people's perceptions of the quality of Tanjung Balai General Hospital were in the good category with 144 people (53.3%) and those who said they were not good were 126 people (46.7%). There is a significant relationship between people's perceptions of tangible quality (p=0.000), reliability (p=0.000), responsiveness (p=0.000), assurance (p=0.000), and attention (p=0.000) at Tanjung Balai Hospital to health services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between public perception of quality at Tanjung Balai General Hospital for health services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Carbon tetrachloride (CCl₄) is widely used to induce experimental oxidative liver injury through the generation of free radicals that promote lipid peroxidation and hepatocellular damage. Natural products with antioxidant properties are being explored for their potential to mitigate such injury. This study aimed to evaluate the dose-responsive ameliorative effects of Channa striata extract on hepatic oxidative stress and histopathological alterations in rats following subacute CCl₄ exposure. Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into five groups: normal control (K1), CCl₄ control (K2), and three treatment groups receiving C. striata extract at 100, 150, and 200 mg/kg body weight/day for two weeks after six weeks of CCl₄ induction (K3–K5). Hepatic malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were measured as an indicator of lipid peroxidation. Liver histopathology was assessed for hepatocellular necrosis, congestion, and inflammatory cell infiltration using a semi-quantitative scoring system. CCl₄ exposure significantly increased hepatic MDA levels and caused severe histopathological damage in the control group. C. striata extract dose-dependently attenuated MDA levels (p < 0.001), with the 200 mg/kg/day group showing the lowest levels (2.80 ± 0.15 vs. 6.65 ± 0.13 nmol/g in CCl₄ control). Histopathological scores for necrosis, congestion, and inflammatory infiltration ameliorated progressively with increasing doses, with median total scores improving from 8.5 (CCl₄ control) to 2.0 (200 mg/kg/day). Channa striata extract demonstrates dose-dependent ameliorative activity against established CCl₄-induced oxidative liver injury, as evidenced by attenuation of lipid peroxidation and mitigation of histopathological damage. Further studies incorporating serum liver enzymes and molecular mechanisms are warranted.
