Abstract

Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder characterized by symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, and disorganized speech, posing significant challenges for accurate diagnosis. This research investigates an innovative Natural Language Processing (NLP) framework for classifying the speech patterns of schizophrenia patients using Word2Vec, with the aim of determining whether there are significant differences between the two features. The dataset comprises speech transcriptions from 121 schizophrenia patients and 121 non-schizophrenia participants collected through structured interviews. This study compares two Word2Vec architectures, Continuous Bag-of-Words (CBOW) and Skip-Gram (SG), to determine their effectiveness in classifying schizophrenia speech patterns. The results indicate that the SG architecture, with hyperparameter tuning, produces more detailed word representations, particularly for low-frequency words. This approach yields more accurate classification results, achieving an F1-score of 93.81%. These results emphasize the effectiveness of the framework in handling structured and abstract linguistic patterns. By utilizing the advantages of both static and contextual embedding, this approach offers significant potential for clinical applications, providing a reliable tool for improving schizophrenia diagnosis through automated speech analysis.

Abstract

The main problem in implementing this Community Service activity is how to improve the quality of human resources for students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province in utilizing information technology, especially accessing the internet quickly and accurately. The purpose and benefits of implementing the activity are to provide basic knowledge for students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province to access the internet quickly and accurately. The basic idea behind this training activity is how students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province no longer experience difficulties in seeking knowledge through the internet media. This training was also carried out using lecture, discussion, question and answer, and practice methods. From these results, it can be concluded that the ability to access the internet of students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province has increased significantly. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan prototype. Tujuan penelitian berupa pengembangan aplikasi CIKUR bagi siswa tunanetra, mengetahui tingkat kelayakan aplikasi, dan mengetahui tanggapan pengguna terhadap pengembangan aplikasi. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi, danpengisian kuesioner oleh responden. Hasil pengujian aplikasi diperoleh dengan menganalisis aspek- aspek pada functionality dan usability berdasarkan standar ISO 25010. Hasil pengembangan aplikasi CIKUR berupa dua komponen utama yaitu menu scan dan menu about. Dari hasil pengujian functionality diperoleh kelayakan aplikasi dengan presentase 100% dengan kategori layak diterima. Hasil pengujian usability memperoleh persentase sebanyak 90% dengan frekuensi 18 dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Persentase 10% dengan frekuensi 2 dan termasuk dalam kategori baik.

Abstract

This research focuses on the development of a valid prototype of the Savonius vertical axis wind turbine model through a research and development (R&D) approach, using a modified Borg and Gall development model. The study introduces a functional prototype suitable for student learning in renewable energy courses, offering a simpler and more portable alternative to wind energy generation. Student responses showed a positive perception, with 53% stating that the Savonius wind turbine was suitable for the presentation. The results of the questionnaire showed an overall average score of 86%, which was categorized as "Very Appropriate". The turbine operates effectively at a minimum wind speed of 3.5 m/s, producing an average voltage of 10.28 V, a current of 10.46 mA, and an output power of 1 watt. Although relatively small, this power level is sufficient for small-scale applications, highlighting the prototype's ability to support devices with low power or simple lighting, as well as serving as a renewable energy education tool. Wind turbine performance analysis showed optimal results at an average wind speed of 3.88 – 4.84 m/s, a power coefficient (Cp) of 0.87, and a tip-speed ratio (TSR) of 0.82. This shows a direct correlation between the TSR and the power coefficient, which indicates efficient turbine performance.

Abstract

Transient overvoltage is a phenomenon in the power system that can be caused by lightning or switching surges. These overvoltages have large amplitudes and short durations, potentially damaging equipment, especially the Circuit Breaker, leading to failure in power distribution. As such, analyzing transient overvoltage is critical for understanding its impact and for designing systems that can withstand such surges. This study investigates transient overvoltages at PT PLN (Persero) 150 kV Makale Tana Toraja Substation, calculating the highest possible transient overvoltage that could affect Circuit Breakers. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach with an Ex-Post Facto design, using the lattice diagram method to analyze the transient overvoltage behavior. Findings reveal that the highest recorded transient overvoltage was 227.231 kV, with values decreasing as the distance from the lightning strike increases. Furthermore, calculations suggest that in the case of properly functioning arresters, transient overvoltage values at Circuit Breakers 1 and 2 are 512.33 kV and 542.514 kV, respectively. However, if the arresters are damaged, these values increase significantly to 1031.94 kV and 1028.814 kV. This study emphasizes the importance of maintaining functional lightning arresters to ensure protection system efficacy. By optimizing the design and operational parameters of protection equipment, this research contributes to strengthening the resilience of substations, ensuring the safety and reliability of critical infrastructure in areas prone to lightning strikes.

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) determine the water discharge and head (fall height) at the Salomekko Dam; 2) assess the potential electrical power that can be generated by the micro-hydro power plant (PLTMH) at the Salomekko Dam; 3) identify the type of turbine suitable for the PLTMH based on the water discharge and head (fall height) at the Salomekko Dam in Salomekko District, Bone Regency. The data collection techniques applied are observation, documentation, and interviews. The data analysis techniques used was theoretical power potential calculations by using the Hydropower Casimir software, based on data from relevant agencies, the central statistics agency, and dam management. The results of this study were: 1) the water discharge per year: Q2021 = 16.623 m³/second, Q2022 = 17.787 m³/second, Q2023 = 18.199 m³/second, H = 13.83 meters; 2) the potential electrical power that can be generated by the Salomekko Dam's PLTMH: P2021 = 1804,22 kW, P2022 = 1930,56 kW, P2023 = 1975,28 kW; 3) the Kaplan turbine was the type of water turbine used for power generation at the Salomekko Dam in Salomekko District, Bone Regency, based on the water discharge and head.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system designed to measure and control temperature, humidity, and ammonia gas levels in laying hen cages to enhance environmental management efficiency, animal welfare, and productivity. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) method using a prototyping model conducted at UD. Ayam Ras Petelur, Gowa Regency, Indonesia. The developed system integrates DHT11, and MQ-135 sensors connected to an Android application via NodeMCU ESP8266 and Firebase, enabling real-time monitoring, visualization, and remote access. Through this integration, farmers can instantly obtain environmental data, receive notifications when parameters exceed safe thresholds, and take immediate corrective actions to maintain optimal conditions for the chickens. Evaluation based on the ISO 25010 quality model shows that the system achieves 100% functional suitability and 92.6% usability, which indicates excellent performance and high practicality for end users. Sensor accuracy testing reveals reliability rates of 97.37% for temperature, 97.83% for humidity, and 95.50% for ammonia gas concentration, confirming the system’s precision and consistency in data measurement. The results demonstrate that the IoT-based monitoring system developed in this study is highly feasible, efficient, and accurate for real-time management of poultry cage environments. Overall, this research contributes to the adoption of smart farming technologies in Indonesia’s poultry industry, promoting data-driven decision-making and sustainable livestock management practices.

Abstract

This study evaluates the satisfaction level of students in the Electrical Engineering Education Department, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University (PTE FT UNM) in using the My-SAMS (My Single Academic Management System) application based on the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) model, which measures satisfaction through content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness. Using a quantitative ex post facto design, data were collected from 136 students (2018–2023 cohorts) through a 20-item Likert-scale questionnaire. The research instruments were tested for validity using the product-moment correlation and for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha, both showing acceptable results. Data analysis employed descriptive statistics using SPSS 23 and Excel 2021 to identify satisfaction patterns. The findings showed that students were moderately satisfied with content (45%), format (54%), ease of use (57%), and timeliness (46%), while the accuracy dimension was rated dissatisfied (33%). These results suggest that while My-SAMS is user-friendly, issues remain regarding data accuracy and synchronization. It is recommended that system developers enhance data validation and integration processes and provide continuous operator training to ensure data consistency. In conclusion, the study emphasizes that My-SAMS has achieved moderate success in meeting user expectations but requires further improvements in information accuracy and reliability to strengthen trust and system performance. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for improving academic digital services and as a foundation for further research on user satisfaction in academic information systems.

Abstract

The main problem in this activity is that PAUD PKBM teachers who want to advance in Gantarang Keke District, Bantaeng Regency are not yet fully capable of making media and using computer-based learning media. This training aims to ensure that PAUD PKBM teachers who want to advance in Gantarang Keke District, Bantaeng Regency are able to make computer-based media well and interestingly and are able to use computer-based learning media. The method that will be applied in this activity is training in making computer-based learning media for PAUD PKBM teachers who want to advance in Gantarang Keke District, Bantaeng Regency. Training activities begin with providing material to increase teachers' understanding and motivation about the importance of using media in learning. Then proceed with providing material about computer applications as learning media, the next stage is providing material on how to create computer-based learning media in the form of Microsoft Office Powerpoint. Accompanying participants to practice creating computer-based learning media and giving independent assignments to participants so they are proficient in creating computer-based learning media. The output of this training activity is that PAUD PKBM teachers who want to advance in Gantarang Keke District, Bantaeng Regency understand the benefits of using media in learning and are able to create and use computer-based learning media.
