Abstract

Limapuluh KotaRabies is a global health problem and zoonotic with case fatality rate (CFR) of 100%. Rabies is commonly found in developing countries, especially in Asia and Africa. Rabies control efforts can be implemented if vaccination coverage is sufficient, especially in rabies endemic areas. Rabies vaccination for rabies-transmitting animals is one of the most important measures taken by the public, especially rabies-transmitting animals owners. The aim of this study was to determine the factors associated with the practice of rabies vaccination for rabies-transmitting animals. This study used a cross sectional approach. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and direct interviews with a total of 90 respondents. The dependent variable in this study was the practice of vaccination for rabies-transmitting animals. The independent variables were age, gender, education, occupation, location of residence, use of rabies-transmitting animals, number and type of rabies-transmitting animals, knowledge, rabies-transmitting animals health checks status, appeals from the health office/village head, and attending counseling. Data were analyzed using simple logistic regression and multiple logistic regression tests. Factors associated with rabies vaccination were location of residence (α=0.013; OR=4.05; 95%CI=1.34-12.30) and rabies-transmitting animals health check status (α=0.000; OR=10.29; 95%CI=3.09-34.65). In this study, there was no significant association between the variables of age, gender, education, occupation, knowledge, type of rabies-transmitting animals, appeal of health workers/village head, and attending counseling. Keywords: Rabies, Vaccination, Practice, Limapuluh Kota District

Abstract

Social media is the media most often used in the current era of digitalization, one of which is Tik Tok. Tik Tok is a social media that makes it easy for users to interact to give likes and comments on videos and photos between fellow users. However, this affects the mental health of its users, especially students. The effects of using Tik Tok on mental health include anxiety, stres, lack of confidence and overthinking. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of social media (Tik Tok) on adolescent mental health in public health students at Teuku Umar University. This study used quantitative methods with simple linear regression analysis with 76 respondents. The results of this study indicate that there is no influence between the use of social media (Tik Tok) on the health of adolescents in public health students at Teuku Umar University with a probability of 0.766.

Abstract

Final-year students at Teuku Umar University often experience stress while writing their thesis. This study examined the relationship between psychological well-being (PWB) and academic stress using a cross-sectional design. A total of 93 students from six faculties participated. PWB was measured with the Ryff Psychological Well-Being scale, and academic stress was assessed using the DASS-42 stress subscale. Results showed that 57% of students had high PWB, especially in personal growth, while 57% experienced moderate stress and 13% reported severe stress. On average, PWB scores were 78.7 ± 7.8 and stress scores were 33.9 ± 7.5. Students with higher PWB generally had lower stress, but some still felt pressured due to deadlines, workload, or family responsibilities. Support from supervisors, friends, and family helped, along with personal coping strategies like time management and short breaks. Overall, strong PWB can reduce stress but does not remove it completely, highlighting the need for both personal effort and institutional support during the thesis-writing period.

Abstract

The research focused on studying peer attachment and aggression among adolescents in South Tangerang. Data was collected from 320 adolescents aged 13-17 and included in the research study. Data were collected using the Peer Attachment Scale and the Aggression Questionnaire, which were adapted for the Indonesian environment and subsequently validated. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4, which applies Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The research found evidence of a negative correlation, indicating that lower peer attachment was associated with higher levels of aggression (β = -0.503; f² = 0.21; Q² = 0.31). The most dominant influence on the ‘communication’ aspect of attachment was the most hidden form of aggression - ‘hostility.’ The structural pathways showed no significant variation based on the sex of the participants, indicating that strong correlates with peer attachment will result in less aggression in both females and males. The research discusses the most practical aspects of implementing CASEL’s social-emotional learning (SEL) modules, which focus on peer mentoring and support, as well as other school-based attachment programs, as detailed by the Australian Institute of Family Studies. Future research might include longitudinal study designs and explore mediation analyses on the relationships between the regulation of emotions and moral disengagement, as a means to clarify the connections within these relationships.
