Abstract

The purpose of this research is to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of using  ADIKSIMBA monopoly media to enhance the fifth-grade students’ capacity to comprehend narrative text at SD Negeri Tinjomoyo 02 in learning Indonesian. The research employed research and development. The research involved the development of the ADIKSIMBA monopoly media assisted by card sort methods then the feasibility and effectiveness of using the media was tested on 28 fifth grade students of SDN Tinjomoyo 02. Non-test procedures were used to acquire study data, including interviews with fifth grade teachers, student and teacher needs questionnaires, and media feasibility validation questionnaires completed by material and media experts. Data was collected using test technique such as pretests and posttests to examine the effectiveness of monopolistic media. The data were analyzed using percentage test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The results indicated that the ADIKSIMBA monopoly media was found to be 93.75% (rated as "Very Feasible") by material and media experts. In the large-scale posttest, 25 out of 28 students reached the KKTP. Additionally, the N-Gain test on the pretest-posttest scores showed a 0,7642 (High) which indicated that ADIKSIMBA monopoly media was effective to improve students' ability in comprehending narrative text.

Abstract

The low level of reading skills is one of the fundamental problems that occurs in elementary schools. Low initial reading skills indicate this. This research aims to develop learning media in the form of the Big Book "Jati Denok". The research method used is R&D (Research and Development) with the Borg and Gall design. The research subjects are material experts, media experts and language experts. The test subjects were 21 students and teachers. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. The main instrument is a questionnaire. Analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The study results show that media experts rated the feasibility test as very feasible, with an average score of 94.4%. Material experts' validation results rated the content as very feasible, with an average score of 93.75%. The results of validation by language experts were the same as those of material experts, obtaining appropriate criteria with an average value of 93.75%. The student and teacher response questionnaires in the trial both scored 100% (very good). In addition, the analysis results show an increase in students' poetry reading skills. It can be concluded that the media innovation in the form of the Big Book “Jati Denok” is declared feasible and can improve poetry reading skills in grade II elementary school students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi siswa kelas V. Permasalahan ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, antara lain kurangnya minat dan motivasi siswa dalam kegiatan menulis, terbatasnya kosakata yang dimiliki, kesulitan untuk mengembangkan kalimat, kurangnya media pembelajaran atau bahan ajar yang interaktif dan inovatif, serta strategi atau pemilihan pendekatan pembelajaran yang membosankan. Peneliti menggunakan metode R&D Sugiyono 10 tahapan yang diadaptasi 8 tahapan sampai uji coba pemakaian. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif untuk mengukur keefektifan buku panduan dan kualitatif untuk menganalisis respons pengguna. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: 1) peneliti berhasil mengembangkan buku panduan menulis teks eksposisi menggunakan pendekatan balanced literacy 2) buku panduan menulis teks eksposisi yang dikembangkan dinyatakan sangat layak dengan nilai presentase dari ahli media dan ahli materi sebesar 93%, 93,75% tanggapan dari guru, dan 95,31% tanggapan dari siswa, 3) uji efektivitas buku panduan menulis teks eksposisi yang dikembangkan memperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 > 0,005 sehingga terdapat perbedaan uji rata-rata yang signifikan antara pretest awalnya 55 dan posttest menjadi 81,5. Melalui uji N-Gain, skor diperoleh adalah 0,66 dengan presentase 66,08% termasuk dalam kriteria sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku panduan menulis teks eksposisi menggunakan pendekatan balanced literacy berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi siswa kelas V SDN Sidomulyo 04. Kata kunci:   Buku Panduan Menulis; Keterampilan Menulis; Pendekatan Balanced Literacy; Teks EksposisiAbsctract: This research was motivated by the low ability to write expository text in class V students. This problem was caused by several factors, including students' lack of interest and motivation in writing activities, limited vocabulary, difficulty developing sentences, lack of learning media or teaching materials. which are interactive and innovative, as well as strategies or choosing boring learning approaches. Researchers used Sugiyono's 10-stage R&D method which was adapted to 8 stages until usage trials. The research approach uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data collection was carried out through observation, interview, and questionnaires. Data was analyzed quantitatively to measure the effectiveness of the guidebook and qualitatively to analyze user responses. The results of the research are as follows: 1) the researcher succeeded in developing a guidebook for writing exposition texts using a balanced literacy approach 2) the guidebook for writing exposition texts that were developed was declared very feasible with percentage scores from media experts and material experts of 93%, 93.75 % responses from teachers, and 95.31% responses from students, 3) testing the effectiveness of the guidebook for writing expository texts that were developed obtained a significance value of 0.000 > 0.005 so that there was a significant difference in the average test between the initial pretest was 55 and the posttest became 81.5. Through the N-Gain test, the score obtained was 0.66 with a percentage of 66.08% included in the medium criteria. It can be concluded that the guidebook for writing expository texts using the balanced literacy approach has a positive influence on improving the expository text writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Sidomulyo 04.Keywords: Balanced Literacy, Expository Text, Writing Guidebook, Writing Skills

Abstract

Reading comprehension is one of the keys to student success in following the learning process, but it provides great challenges that have the potential to cause problems for elementary school students. The purpose of this study is to develop, test the feasibility and test the effectiveness of smart booklet digital media using the story maps strategy to improve reading comprehension of grade III elementary school students. This research uses Sugiyono's Research and Development (R&D) method which is modified into 8 stages including potentials and problems; data collection; product design; design validation; design revision; product trials; product revision; and trial use. The results of the assessment of media experts of 95% and material experts of 95% of the criteria are very feasible. The results of the class teacher's response of 92.85% and the student's response of 94% of the criteria were very feasible. The media effectiveness test using the T test obtained a significance value of 0.000. The results of the N-Gain calculation obtained a value of 0.6219 medium criteria. Therefore, smart booklet digital media using the story maps strategy can be said to be very feasible and effective to be applied in improving reading comprehension.

Abstract

Lack of media use causes students to be passive, resulting in low interest in learning and making student learning outcomes less than satisfactory. This research aims to develop Telegram Chatbot-Based Interactive Media in Indonesian Language Subjects for fourth-grade elementary school students. This type of research is developed using the Sugiyono model in eight stages. The subjects of this research were a fourth-grade teacher, 1 material expert, 1 media expert, 6 initial trial students, and 14 usage trial students. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The data collection instruments were observation guidelines, interview sheets, and test questions. Data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis, N-Gain analysis, and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). The research results were the material expert assessment results of 92.3% (very feasible). The results of the media expert assessment were 90.8% (very feasible). The results of the teacher response percentage were 95% (very feasible). The result of the percentage of student responses of 94.15% falls into the very feasible category. The N-Gain test result of 0.6949 is included in the medium criteria. The t-test results showed significant differences in student learning outcomes after taking part in learning using interactive media based on the Telegram chatbot. It was concluded that interactive media based on the Telegram chatbot was suitable and adequate for subjects of the Indonesian language. The research implication is that Telegram chatbot-based interactive media can be used in learning Indonesian.

Abstract

This research and development (R&D) aimed at creating educational media designed to enhance skills in writing procedural texts. The research process followed eight key stages: identifying potential issues, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trials, further product revisions, and concluding with usage trials. The participants in this study included fourth-grade students from Ngaliyan 05 Elementary School and Wonosari 02 Elementary School. The findings indicated a clear need among teachers and students for learning media to support their educational goals effectively. In response, the researchers developed the Zig-zag Book media based on the Pair Check Cooperative Learning method. This media encompasses a concise summary of the material, examples of procedural texts accompanied by visuals, student worksheets, and learning evaluations. Feedback from both students and teachers underscored several advantages of the developed media: it features an engaging design with bright colors that appeal to elementary school children, offers a variety of texts, images, examples, and practice questions, and presents precise instructions for use, making it user-friendly. The material is articulated succinctly, employing language and terminology that is accessible and easily understood. Field trials revealed that the media's feasibility was rated at 85% for the content and 93% for the overall quality. Furthermore, students' learning outcomes exhibited significant enhancement, with pre-test and post-test results yielding an impressive N-gain of 72.07%. This evidence suggests that the Zig-zag Book media, based on the Pair Check Cooperative Learning method, effectively improves students' writing skills.

Abstract

Literasi membaca dianggap sebagai kegiatan penting dalam proses pemerolehan ilmu. Namun kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan membaca mengalami banyak persoalan baik dari kurangnya pembiasaan yang dilakukan oleh guru maupun dari minat anak itu sendiri. Oleh sebab itu guru perlu memiliki kompetensi dalam penyusunan program literasi di sekolah khususnya dalam bentuk menulis buku cerita anak. Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas guru dalam merancang program literasi berbantuan platform digital dalam bentuk cerita anak dengan harapan guru dapat menerapkan literasi dengan baik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menerapkan metode Organizational Learning dengan tiga tahapan yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan peserta dalam memahami cerita anak dan teknik penulisannya. Hasil peningkatan berada pada nilai sedang dengan grain score sebesar 0,46. Meski demikian, guru telah menunjukkan kepercayaan diri dalam menulis cerita anak dan pemanfaatan platform digital seperti Literacy Cloud dengan baik sebagai contoh.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the Circle Time E-module through Linktree to improve students' narrative text content speaking skills. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Borg and Gall development model. The data collection techniques used were tests (pretest and posttest questions) and non-tests (observation, interviews, documentation data, and questionnaires). The data analysis technique in this study used the normality test, t-test, and gain test. The results of the feasibility test obtained a percentage of the assessment, namely from the media expert validator of 90.8% and the material expert of 90% so that the average was 90.4% with a very feasible category. The effectiveness of the Circle Time E-module through Linktree was proven through a t-test which showed a significance value <0.05 which means there is a significant difference between speaking skills before and after treatment with an N-gain test value of 0.662 on a small scale and 0.642 on a large scale which shows a medium category. Practicality is demonstrated by the positive response of 96% of teachers and 96.5% of students with very positive criteria. From these results, it can be concluded that the Circle Time E-module through Linktree is effective, feasible, and practical for improving narrative text speaking skills in Indonesian language learning for grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive media Articulate Storyline loaded with local wisdom to enhance students' understanding of main ideas. The research model used is the research and development model by Sugiyono. This research was conducted at SDN Ngaliyan 03 and SDN Ngaliyan 05 in Semarang City, Central Java,  with 6 students as samples for limited testing and 26 students for usability testing. The research instruments used include test and non-test techniques such as questionnaires, interviews, pretests and posttests, as well as documentation. This research employs both qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods. The technique for qualitative data analysis involves suggestions and feedback from media or material experts. Meanwhile, the quantitative data analysis uses parametric data analysis techniques such as normality tests, t-tests, and N-Gain tests. The research results show that the validation of material feasibility received a score of 88% and media experts 82%. Thus, the interactive media Articulate Storyline loaded with local wisdom is declared very feasible. In addition, the average improvement in pretest and posttest results shows an increase of 43.23. This means there is a difference before and after using the interactive media Articulate Storyline loaded with local wisdom. The N-Gain percent test results show a percentage of 76.83%. Research findings indicate that the use of interactive media Articulate Storyline combined with local wisdom is highly feasible and effective in enhancing students' understanding of the main idea.

Abstract

Keterampilan membaca permulaan memiliki peran penting dalam keberhasilan belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Hasil observasi di SD N Dempet 2 menunjukkan bahwa 43% siswa kelas 1 mengalami kesulitan dalam menguasai keterampilan ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengembangkan, 2) menguji kelayakan, dan 3) mengevaluasi keefektifan buku berjenjang berbasis metode Struktural Analitik Sintetik (SAS) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 1 SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Borg & Gall yang dimodifikasi menjadi delapan tahapan sebagai berikut: potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, revisi produk, dan uji coba pemakaian. Desain buku berjenjang berbasis SAS untuk siswa kelas 1 di kembangkan 2 jenjang yaitu jenjang A dan jenjang B-1. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa buku berjenjang berbasis SAS memiliki tingkat kelayakan yang sangat tinggi, dengan skor 94% dari ahli materi dan 95% dari ahli media. Uji efektivitas menggunakan t-test menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan, baik pada uji coba skala kecil (thitung = 4,929 > ttabel = 2,571) maupun uji coba skala besar (thitung = 14,055 > ttabel= 2,080) pada taraf signifikansi 5%.  Perhitungan N-Gain sebesar 0,8136 menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan membaca permulaan dengan kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, buku berjenjang berbasis SAS layak dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan pada siswa kelas 1 SD.
