Abstract

Estimating the rate of soil erosion generally takes time, money, and energy. There are many parameters that must be accommodated, such as the physical properties of the soil, land cover, rainfall, topography, and so on. One alternative method for estimating erosion rates is to use a remote sensing approach. The aim of this research is to estimate the rate of soil erosion in the Special Purpose Forest Area of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (KHDTK ULM) Mandiangin, using the E30 model and Sentinel-2 imagery. The erosion rate are measured directly in the field with a number of sample points. According to the E30 model concept, field erosion samples are only measured on land that has a slope of 300. The topographic data itself is extracted from DEMNAS data. Meanwhile, soil bulk density data was obtained from https://soilgrids.org/, and solum data was taken from https://daac.ornl.gov/. From the Sentinel-2 imagery, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data was extracted, which is one of the parameters in the E30 model. The estimated results of the erosion rate at KHDTK ULM Mandiangin show that, in general, the highest erosion rate at KHDTK ULM Mandiangin is around 480 tons/ha/year. Additionally, almost 80% of the KHDTK ULM Mandiangin area has a very serious erosion hazard level. Of course, the fastest rate of erosion is located on hill slopes with steep topography. Apart from having steep topography, one of the factors causing the high rate of erosion at KHDTK ULM is the thin soil layer and the lack of dense forest cover. This finding indicates the need to conserve vegetation cover on steep lands.

Abstract

The "Melati" Joint Business Group is a group of women's skills including the "Meronce" craftsmanship whose members consist of women in Dolok Merawan Village, Dolok Merawan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province. The results of the 2018 community service program for this business group have shown quite encouraging results, in which this joint business group has been able to increase its organizational capacity and be able to improve its "meronce" handicraft skills by producing products of economic value. However, the "Melati" Joint Business Group is experiencing difficulties in marketing its handicraft products, because so far the method of selling products is still conventional, and they have not been able to market their products online. This community service activity aims to train the "Melati" Joint Business Group in relation to the online marketing strategy of the "Meronce" handicraft products. To achieve these objectives, the service methods used are lecture and discussion techniques, training on the promotion of handicraft products online by providing promotional tools, namely smartphones and equipment, and strengthening group organizations with on-line marketing strategy training. The results of the service activities show that KUBE Melati members already have the ability to market their craft products online such as Facebook and WhatsApp, and there are even consumers who order online. This is enough to motivate them so that they do not feel left behind by the progress of Information Technology in marketing their handicrafts. But they still hope that the service team can provide assistance for them in accordance with the progress of the Information Technology.

Abstract

Communication is the key to the success or failure of a target achieved and carried out by an employee. If employees are trapped in an atmosphere of confusion but have good communication, researchers believe employees can resolve it through good communication. Based on this, this research aims to analyze the influence of communication on employee performance. In contrast to a number of previous studies, this research adds the Work Team variable as a moderating variable which is believed to strengthen the influence of the Communication variable on Employee Performance. This research is quantitative research with an explanatory approach which uses a number of previous studies related to Organizational Communication, Employee Performance and Work Teams as a reflection and is combined into the latest research and at the same time has differences from previous studies. This research uses primary data that researchers obtained from Bank Bukopin which is spread throughout Indonesia. The data was distributed via an online questionnaire with statements 1-5 containing the sentences strongly agree, agree, normal/so-so, disagree and strongly disagree. These data were analyzed using the smart PLS 4.0 analysis tool The result in this article show that the Communication variable has a positive relationship and a significant influence on Employee Performance because the P-Values are positive and are below the 0.05 significance level, namely 0.021. Apart from that, researchers also believe that the Teamwork variable can moderate the influence of the Communication variable on the Employee Performance variable because with good teamwork chemistry will arise which forms good communication and ultimately improves the performance of each employee. In line with this, the results from the second row of the third table of the flow coefficient show that the Teamwork variable can moderate the influence of the Communication variable on Employee Performance because the P-Values value is positive and is below the 0.05 significance level, namely 0.000. Thus, the first and second hypotheses in this study can be accepted and validated.
