Abstract

The use of crane hooks in lifting operations requires special attention to structural strength and safety factors to prevent potentially fatal failures. This study aims to analyze the strength and determine the Safe Working Load (SWL) of a single crane hook with three cross-sectional variations: trapezoidal, circular, and rectangular. The Finite Element Method (FEM) was applied using SolidWorks 2018, and the results were validated through manual calculations. The material used was DIN 34CrNiMo6 alloy steel with a uniformly applied 5 Ton or 49.050 N load. The trapezoidal section showed the best performance with a maximum stress of 720.44 MPa, deformation of 1.47 mm, safety factor of 1.34, and SWL of 13,573.61 N (1,383.65 kg). The rectangular section produced a maximum stress of 793.64 MPa, deformation of 1.63 mm, safety factor of 1.21, and SWL of 11,965.24 N (1,219.70 kg). Meanwhile, the circular section showed the lowest performance with 1,072.27 MPa of stress, 1.88 mm deformation, safety factor of 0.89, and SWL of 8,701.47 N (887.00 kg). Therefore, the trapezoidal section is recommended as the safest and most optimal design for lifting applications.

Abstract

Motor bensin merupakan salah satu jenis motor pembakaran dalam yang digunakan untuk menggerakkan atau sebagai sumber tenaga dari suatu kendaraan. Optimalisasi pada proses sebelum pembakaran dapat meningkatkan performa mesin seperti melakukan pergantian pada komponen reed valve. Reed valve atau katup buluh bekerja berdasarkan kehisapan pada ruang engkol dan mekanisme yang tidak terhubung dengan putaran mesin. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh reed valve standar dan dual stage reed valve terhadap torsi, horsepower, konsumsi bahan bakar pada sepeda motor Yamaha RXK 135 cc. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dimana pengujian dilakukan secara bergantian untuk masing-masing variasi reed valve untuk memperoleh torsi, horsepower, dan konsumsi bahan bakar menggunakan Pertalite. Pengujian dilakukan pada tingkat putaran mesin 6800-16000 rpm menggunakan mesin dynotest di Alonso Lee Motor Workshop. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa torsi dan daya tertinggi didapatkan oleh lidah membran standar dengan nilai 18,91 HP pada 9500 rpm dan 14,7 N.m pada 8450 rpm sedangkan pada lidah membran dual stage menghasilkan torsi dan daya sebesar 18,38 HP pada 14500 rpm dan 9,49 N.m pada 12540 rpm. Hal tersebut dikarenakan bahan dari lidah membran dual stage yang lebih kaku. Sehingga membuat penghisapan bahan bakar kurang responsif dibandingkan dengan lidah membran standar yang berbahan lebih lentur sehingga mampu melakukan penghisapan bahan bakar lebih cepat dan mengoptimasi kinerja mesin. Abstract

Human life is inseparable from concerns regarding the welfare of family members left behind after the death of the primary breadwinner. Insurance has become an integral part of modern human life, serving to maintain life balance and ensure the economic stability of families when the breadwinner passes away. The presence of life insurance is expected to provide financial protection so that the surviving family members may continue to live in adequate conditions. One of the fundamental principles in insurance law is the principle of utmost good faith. Therefore, consumers, in this case the insured, are required to disclose information fully and accurately. Failure to do so previously entitled the insurer to unilaterally cancel the insurance contract in accordance with Article 251 of the Commercial Code. However, the Constitutional Court of Indonesia, through Decision Number 83/PUU-XII/2024, declared that Article 251 of the Commercial Code is contrary to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and therefore has no binding legal force. Accordingly, the legal issue examined in this study concerns how disputes arising from defects of consent committed by the insured should be resolved following the Constitutional Court Decision Number 83/PUU-XXII/2024. This research employs a normative legal research method. The study concludes that insurers may still cancel an insurance agreement if a defect of consent committed by the insured is proven, by filing a tort claim based on an unlawful act before the District Court.
