Abstract

Learning videos are suitable media for various kinds of learning such as in class, small groups and even individual students. By using learning video media, it can clarify the presentation of material, overcome space limitations, overcome students' passive behavior, generate excitement in students, provide the same stimulation and perception, and allow students to learn independently according to their abilities and interests. The purpose of this study was to (1) find out the validity of the teaching video media for acid-base titration material for class XI SMAN 3 Kupang (2) find out the learning outcomes of class XI students at SMAN 3 Kupang after participating in learning using practical learning video media (3) find out the response class XI students of SMAN 3 Kupang on the learning video media for practicum material on Acid-Base Titration. The benefits of this research are (1) For students this research can make students gain new experiences in learning chemistry using interactive learning video media, especially on acid-base titration material, students become more active in the learning process helping students understand the concepts of acid-base titration by easy (2) For teachers this research can provide an overview of learning that focuses on the activeness of students in class XI, providing alternative teaching materials in teaching acid-base duration material, namely by using media tutorial video.This type of research is research and development. The development model used is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development Implantation, and Evaluation). The instruments used in this research are learning video media validation sheets, learning achievement test sheets, and response questionnaire sheets. students The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. From the analysis of the data, it was obtained (1) The practicum-based learning video media developed by researchers was declared very feasible, very valid (2) Student learning outcomes were declared complete with an average score of 89,23 (3) Student responses in learning using learning video media practicum-based is included in the very good category with a percentage of 90%.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan kemampuan untuk berpikir pada level yang kompleks, untuk melakukan analisis, menciptakan dan menggunakan kriteria secara obyektif, dan melakukan evaluasi data. Pendekatan saintifik merupakan pendekatan yang memberikan pengalaman belajar bagi peserta didik untuk mengkonstruksikan pengetahuannya melalui kegiatan ilmiah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik, mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik , serta mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik dalam pembelajaran yang menerapkan pendekatan saintifik pada materi pokok Larutan Penyangga siswa kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 3 Kupang tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-asosiatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Kupang yang berjumlah 36 orang. berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pendekatan saitifik efektif yakni (a) kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran termasuk dalam kategori baik, (b) ketuntasan hasil belajar KI 3 dan KI 4 dinyatakan tuntas, (2) kemampuan berpikir kiritis peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Kupang tahun ajaran 2022/2023 termasuk dalam ketegori baik, (3) ada hubungan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik, (4) ada pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik.

Abstract

Tujuan yang dilaporkan dalam artikel ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, untuk mengetahui minat belajar siswa, untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa, untuk mengetahui hubungan antara minat dan hasil belajar pada pembelajaran yang menerapkan model pembelajaran discovery learning. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA Sint Carolus Kupang yang berjumlah 22 orang. Berdasarkan analisis data dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: kemampuan guru dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran discovery learning dikategorikan sangat baik, dengan perolehan rata-rata 3,83 dan reliabilitas 98,5%, minat belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning termasuk dalam kategori baik, dengan presentasi rata-rata sebesar 77%, hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning tergolong tuntas, dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 87, hubungan antara minat dan hasil belajar pada pembelajaran yang menerapkan model pembelajaran discovery learning adalah adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara minat dan hasil belajar siswa dengan koefisien korelasi r = 0,36 sehingga diperoleh ttabel = 2,085, dan thitung ≤ ttabel atau 1,66 ≤ 2,085. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian tersebut maka minat siswa terhadap materi laju reaksi dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning tergolong baik dan antara minat dan hasil belajar siswa mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan.

Abstract

The textile industry in the world keeps increasing, but it harms environmental pollution caused by textile dye waste. Synthetic dyes contain carcinogenic and mutagenic ingredients that can demage the environment and aquatic biota. The alternative to handling dye pollution with a low-cost method is adsorption using nitric acid-activated coconut fiber. Coconut fiber was an abundant agricultural waste and economical, and it had an active site that contained many compounds such as cellulose, lignin, pyroligneous acid, and tannin molecules. This study used the UV-Vis Spectrophotometer analysis method to determine the effect of pH, contact time, and coconut fiber on the adsorption capacity of methylene blue. The result showed that the optimal conditions for adsorption were a pH of 5, a contact time of 75 minutes, and a percentage adsorption of the variation of contact time of 99.628%. The adsorption study was according to a pseudo-second-order reaction with a constant reaction rate of 0.050 g mg-1 minute-1. The maximum adsorption capacity was 2 mg g-1, with the percentage of methylene blue adsorbed at 99.84%. Adsorption occurs chemically with an energy of 35.4 kJ mol-1, so it can be determined that it occurs with a monolayer mechanism.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah sabut buah lontar sebagai adsorben metilen biru. Sabut buah lontar dihaluskan hingga ukuran 100 mesh kemudian diaktivasi menggunakan asam sulfat 1M selama 24 jam. Biosorben yang dihasilkan kemudian dicuci dengan aquades hingga pH netral. Biosorben digunakan untuk adsorpsi metilen biru dengan parameter uji variasi pH, waktu kontak, dan konsentrasi awal adsorbat. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pH optimum 7, waktu kontak 50 menit dan konsentrasi maksimum 50 ppm. Model kinetika adsorpsi adalah pseudo orde dua dengan nilai R2 adalah 1 dan isotermal adsorpsi yang berlaku adalah isotermal Freundlich yang mengindikasikan bahwa proses adsorpsi terjadi secara multilayer. Dari hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa metilen biru dapat diadsorpsi menggunakan sabut buah lontar teraktivasi asam. ABSTRACT: This research aims to using the lontar fiber as methylene blue adsorbent. The palm fruit fiber was prepared to particle size of 100 mesh then activated using 1M of sulphuric acid for 24 hours. The biosorbent washed with distilled water until the pH was neutral. Biosorbent was used for methylene blue adsorption with parameters tested included pH, contact time and variations in concentration. The test results show that the optimum pH is 7, the contact time is 50 minutes and the maximum concentration is 50 ppm. The adsorption kinetic models following pseudo second order with an R2 value of 1 and the adsorption isothermal is the Freundlich isothermal which indicates that the adsorption process occur in a multilayer manner. From these results it can be concluded that methylene blue can be adsorbed using acid-activated palm fiber.

Abstract

Turmeric is a tropical plant that is widely found on the Asian continent which is extensively used as a food coloring agent and fragrance. Ginger is a spice plant that it often found in South Asia which is widely has spread throughout the world. Coconut is an annual plant, has a hard stem and is generally not branched (monopodial), has fibrous roots, and contain water that is clear and tastes sweet, young coconut water has benefits such as antibacterial, beauty treatment, as an isotonic agent, and carry out the urination. This research was conducted to obtain information about the physicochemical properties and secondary metabolites contents of the coconut water, ginger and turmeric combination extract. The research method was carried out by mixing the mashed turmeric and ginger with the young coconut water and then macerated. The resulting extract was then tested for physicochemical properties (solubility) and identified groups of secondary metabolites (flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids/triterpenoids. The extract was soluble in 70% ethanol. In addition, the combination of young coconut water, ginger, and turmeric extract contain a group of secondary metabolites among others flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids.

Abstract

Traditionally in the village of Alor, East Nusa Tenggara Province, a combination of avocado and papaya leaves is often used to treat malaria. To be able to be developed as an ingredient in traditional medicine, it is necessary to conduct preliminary research to determine the content of secondary metabolites contained in the combination of avocado and papaya leaves. This study aims to determine the secondary metabolites contained in avocado and papaya leaves through phytochemical screening and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) analysis. Extraction was carried out using methanol solvent by maceration, and the extract yield was 91.4%. Testing the content of secondary metabolites in avocado and papaya leaf extracts was carried out by phytochemical screening. Furthermore, the TLC test was carried out to confirm the presence of a positive group of compounds on phytochemical screening, and to determine the chromatographic profile of the extract. After being tested by phytochemical and TLC analysis, the extract contains several metabolites, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. The TLC system used in this study can separate the phytochemical content and give positive results that confirm the results of the phytochemical screening.

Abstract

Blue methylene is a cationic dye. It is usually as in various industries. The waste of blue methylene can reduce the environmental balance, especially for aquatic biota, by inhibiting the penetration of sunlight into the water. The experiment used the most natural ingredients and methods to minimize the existence of the dye. In this research, coconut husk was activated with NaOH solution and then used for blue methylene adsorption. The coconut husk started aims to reduce the pollution of the adsorbent to increase the adsorption capacity. The study result showed the optimum adsorption of blue methylene at pH 7 for 75 minutes of adsorption with the capacity adsorption of 1.41 mg g-1. The development of the kinetic study described the adsorption process according to a second-order pseudo reaction kinetic model with the constant adsorption rate of 2.54 x 10-4 g mg-1 minute-1.

Abstract

Na-alginate has been isolated from brown seaweed (Padina sp.) and then used to make na-alginate-chitosan complex polyelectrolyte films as methylene blue adsorbent. Characteristics of na-alginate, chitosan, and PEC films before and after adsorption were carried out using an FT-IR spectrophotometer. Na-alginate-chitosan PEC film was made by mixing a 0.3% (w/v) Na-alginate solution with a 1% (w/v) chitosan solution with a chitosan-alginate volume ratio (1:3). The film formed was tested for its resistance in pH 3-11 for 7 days and showed that the film could survive in acidic or alkaline media. The adsorption study carried out resulted in maximum concentration data occurring at 75 mg/L with a capacity of 30.2768 mg/g.

Abstract

Kualitas gizi menjadi penentu pertumbuhan balita. Pemenuhan kualitas pangan memanfaatkan bahan pangan lokal menjadi alternatif yang dapat dikembangkan untuk bisa menghasilkan variasi pangan yang lebih inovatif. Kegiatan KKNT-PPM yang dilakukan di Desa Baumata menawarkan ide pembuatan Puding Daun Kelor karena kandungan nutrisi pada daun kelor serta kelimpahan bahan baku yang ada di lokasi kegiatan KKN. Ide pembuatan puding daun kelor diperoleh dari hasil observasi lokasi dan hasil diskusi antara mahasiswa dengan DPL. Setelah memperoleh ide kemudian para mahasiswa melakukan diskusi dengan pihak pemerintah Desa Baumata dan para kader Posyandu Bonen untuk melakukan kegiatan sosialisasi dan pemberian puding daun kelor. Jadwal kegiatan pengabdian telah dilakukan pada 20-21 Januari 2023. Kegiatan diawali dengan sosialisasi yang lakukan oleh para mahasiswa untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang kualitas gizi yang terdapat pada daun kelor. Para mahasiswa juga memberikan contoh-contoh bahan pangan lokal yang dapat diinovasi menjadi bahan pangan bernilai ekonomis dan bergizi tinggi. Menurut para orang tua balita, puding daun kelor menjadi satu referensi baru yang menambah pemahaman para orang tua mengenai inovasi kuliner. Para kader posyandu mengapresiasi ide kegiatan para mahasiswa karena membantu memberikan pemahaman baru bagi masyarakat luas dan diharapkan agar ada kegiatan serupa yang dapat dilakukan di lain kesempatan.
