Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on the assessment of instructional planning (lesson plan), particularly how planning emerges from the teacher's internal didactic transposition. It focuses on the diffusion of knowledge by teachers from the curriculum and textbooks into the form of teaching modules or lesson plans. A qualitative approach through phenomenological research method was employed in this study. The data sources include the Arabic language teaching module for Grade 3 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Bandung and Arabic language teacher as participants. The selection of one Arabic teacher as a participant in this study can be justified methodologically with a purposive sampling approach. Data collection techniques consisted of document analysis and in-depth interviews, followed by a praxeological review as an analytical tool. The assessment results identified learning barriers faced by students in the Qiraah (reading) skill material. In this context, internal didactic transposition defined as the transformation of theoretical material into teaching practice plays a crucial role in aligning instructional content with students’ needs and learning objectives. The process of internal transposition in Qiraah instruction positively impacts students’ reading skills, especially when teaching materials are adapted contextually and made relevant to the students’ proficiency levels. These findings pave the way for deeper investigation into the influence of teacher-student verbal exchanges and teaching approaches on students’ comprehension of vocabulary and their reading strategies in Arabic text-based instruction.

Abstract

Motivation is essential for the success of Arabic language learning, as students' internal drive affects their engagement and effort in understanding the material. However, enhancing this motivation can be challenging. The edutainment method is considered a potential solution to improve student motivation in learning Arabic. This study aims to increase motivation through the edutainment method at Al-Mu'izz Islamic Elementary School in Bandung. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through observation, achievement tests, and documentation. The findings show that the edutainment method significantly impacts the motivation of fifth-grade students at Al-Mu'izz Islamic Elementary School. The average pretest score was 47.22, while the posttest score was 84.00, demonstrating a clear improvement. The difference is further confirmed by the t-test result, which shows a significance value of 0.001, less than 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the edutainment method significantly enhances student motivation in Arabic learning at this school.

Abstract

This study evaluates a streamlined approach to Arabic grammar instruction designed to help university students master Qirâ’at al-Kutub. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the effectiveness of a simplified Arabic grammar teaching method in facilitating mastery of Qirâ’at al-Kutub. The simplified method addresses challenges in traditional teaching, improving comprehension and application of grammar in classical texts. Using pre-test and post-test analysis, the study recorded a 20% increase in average scores (65% to 85%) and significant reductions in fi'il mudhâri' errors (40% to 10%) and i’râb errors (50% to 15%). The method proved particularly effective for students struggling with conventional approaches, with 86% reporting improved confidence and comprehension. However, participants also highlighted the need for additional resources (82%) and support for complex texts (68%). This research offers a practical, inclusive solution to Arabic grammar instruction, fostering critical reading skills and deeper engagement with linguistic heritage. Future studies should explore digital tools, interactive platforms, and longitudinal impacts to refine and expand this approach in diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Arabic Language Education (ALE) in Indonesia faces a persistent gap between curricular goals and actual learner proficiency, exacerbated by limited integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in instruction. This study investigates how AI can transform ALE in Indonesia by aligning technological innovation with cultural and spiritual values. Employing a qualitative exploratory design, the research integrates documentary analysis, meta-synthesis, and comparative case studies from Malaysia, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia three nations leading in AI adoption for Arabic instruction. It also draws empirical data from an AI-assisted pilot project at Fatimah Azzahro Islamic Boarding School, West Java. Results reveal that intelligent tutoring systems, personalized learning platforms, and spiritually embedded AI tools significantly enhance engagement, retention, and contextual understanding. The Indonesian pilot recorded a 77% rise in student engagement and 67% in long-term retention, demonstrating the effectiveness of culturally responsive AI integration. Comparative insights highlight the need for a hybrid paradigm combining AI with value-based education rooted in national ideology and Qur’anic ethics. The study advocates for a holistic ALE framework that bridges philosophical ideals with scalable, technology-driven solutions. This model positions Indonesia to develop an ALE system that is globally competitive, spiritually grounded, and responsive to the demands of Society 5.0.

Abstract

The Madrasah head is responsible for organizing and implementing supervision activities in an effort to improve and enhance the teacher-learning process. The study aims to determine academic supervision on Arabic language learning planning and implementation at MTsN 1 Makassar City. The research uses a descriptive method, and the qualitative approach uses Nvivo12. Results showed that the head of the madrasah and senior Arabic teachers work together to conduct academic supervision, which includes carrying out Arabic lesson planning supervision through direct supervision and indirectly, which is carried out through the Arabic MGMP forum. In addition, MTsN 1 Makassar City also invites education practitioners to help guide teachers. Then, in supervising the implementation of Arabic learning, the Head of Madrasah, in collaboration with the MGMP coordinator, conducts classroom visits to observe the administration and implementation of learning. In the course of learning, if teachers are found to have difficulties, they will be directed and assisted in the Arabic MGMP forum. Implication of research is the emphasis on the important role of madrasah principals in organizing and implementing supervision activities, strengthening collaboration between madrasah principals and senior Arabic teachers and focusing on supporting teachers who experience difficulties, both through direct direction and assistance in the Arabic MGMP forum.

Abstract

Arabic language education in Indonesia must adapt to technological advancement and students' contextual needs. This study aimed to develop Arabic teaching materials based on the Merdeka (Independent) Curriculum and analyze their effectiveness in improving students’ Arabic language skills at MAN Pandeglang, Banten. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design, the study followed four phases: needs analysis, material development, classroom implementation, and evaluation. The materials were designed using a communicative approach, project-based learning, and digital integration to create an interactive and student-centered learning experience. Needs analysis revealed significant gaps in existing materials, particularly in engaging students and promoting communication. Implementation in classroom settings showed that students responded positively, with greater motivation and participation. Evaluation through pretests and posttests demonstrated significant improvement, especially in speaking and listening skills. The study concludes that the developed materials are effective and suitable for Arabic instruction aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum, contributing to a more relevant, practical, and engaging Arabic learning environment for Indonesian students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the fundamental concept of Islamic culture according to Ali Ahmad Madzkur, analyze its core principles and values, explain the classification and characteristics of Islamic culture from his perspective, and explore the relevance of these ideas to the development of contemporary Muslim society within the social, cultural, and civilizational dynamics of the modern Islamic world. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to systematically describe and analyze Madzkur’s thought on Islamic culture. Primary data were obtained from Madzkur’s original works, while secondary data were gathered from supporting literature. Data collection was conducted through library research and subsequently analyzed using content analysis through data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and presentation to identify the relevance of Madzkur’s ideas for contemporary Muslim society. The findings indicate that Ali Ahmad Madzkur asserts that Islamic culture is rooted in divine revelation and encompasses the values of monotheism (tawhid), ethics, justice, and spiritual-material balance. Islamic culture is dynamic, adaptable to changing times, and categorized into the dimensions of creed, ethics, and knowledge. His ideas are relevant in responding to secular globalization by offering a divine cultural paradigm that remains open to scientific advancement and the development of modern Islamic civilization.
