Abstract

Zine Black Metal Istiqomah adalah bentuk media alternatif yang mengusung tema identitas hibrid black metal dan Islam.Menggunakan konsep perpaduan identitas musik underground black metal dan identitas Islam, zine Black Metal Istiqomah menarasikan pesan keagamaan bahasa yang santai tanpa intensi menggurui. Menggunakan metode penelitian kulitatif, penelitian ini fokus, untuk menginvestigasi bagaimana strategi pengkarya, zine, dalam menegosiasikan san mengonstruksi dua identitas yang saling bersebrangan tersebut. Penelitian dianalisis secara tekstual mengunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes untuk memahami desain karya dan bentuk visual zine Black Metal Istiqomah. Bentuk visual karya kemudian dianalisis secara kontekstual menggunkan teori hibriditas Jan Pieterse untuk mengungkap proses negosiasi identitas black metal dan identitas Islam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan zine Black Metal Istiqomah mengalami proses negosiasi pada bentuk visual karya, berupa peyederhanaan beberapa simbol identitas secara visual. Identitas black metal pada zine berperan sebagai tanda visual karya, sedangkan identitas Islam berperan pada bagian konten cerita. Pda akhirnya zine Black Metal Istiqomah merupakan bentuk penggabungan identitas yang berhasil menciptakan identitas kekaryaan dan secara tidak langsung menciptakan bentuk identitas hibrid atau nbaru yaitu Black Metal Istiqomah di kalangan Penggemarnya

Abstract

Color is no longer a small issue; it is one of the very important for artistic Workers. In daily life, using color is very common and rarely to be observed or pursued deeply, because color as a one ofthe design element was more digested and processed by feeling, not of thought, so often considered something unimportant. Color is a lot and often used for aesthetic and communication. Without realizing it, color gives special identity to certain things in time, place, and situation ofits own. Although widely used in daily life practically, color has symbolic and decorative characteristic in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. These colors become characteristic in every performance ofculture and art in Jakarta (Betawi). Betawi have a unique typical codification color that reflects the characteristic ofBetawi‘s life, however by the presence ofmassive urbanization in Jakarta, then changed Betawi culture including codification of colors. This research find out how Betawi gives the typical color naming and its relationship with the social cultural circumstance of the moment. And the result also expected to introduction of Betawi color in particular, and also to build a Betawi atmosphere for purposing related to interior, products, and environment.Key words: color naming, Betawi, culture

Abstract

Aktivitas penambangan eksploitatif pasir di Kecamatan Selat telah memicu peningkatan pertumbuhan sektor ekonomi, namun masyarakat tampaknya tidak pernah sadar dengan dampak kerusakan lingkungan yang ditimbulkan. Fenomena penambangan eksploitatif pasir tersebut menjadi thema dan subject matter kekaryaan. Dari pengamatan mendalam pengkarya mendapat pemahaman dan insight yang menjadi pemicu proses kreatif. Problimatikanya dinyatakan ke dalam bentuk bahasa rupa menggunakan metode penyangatan/hiperbola. Untuk mewujudkan kekaryaan mengunakan metode pendekatan dan langkah-langkah kreatif melalui tahapan terstruktur, spontan dan intuitif. Metode ini telah menghasilkan elaborasi yang unik dari semua komponen imajirial sehingga melahirkan gagasan dan metafor yang kreatif. Karya-karya dibuat atau digagas di studio dan pindahkan ke, atau dirangkai di sekitar wilayah areal penambangan. Hubungan antara lokasi presentasi dan masyarakat mampu menjadi sebuah kekuatan tersendiri karena sesuai dengan konteks persoalan. Target kekaryaan tidak hanya sebagai ekspresi individual yang terbatas pada persoalan estetika namun menjadi cara atau alat untuk menyebrangkan (mengkampanyekan) isu lingkungan. Penciptaan seni adalah sebagai modus yang mampu untuk menginspirasi masyarakat agar tergugah secara kolektif maupun individual untuk berpartisipasi dalam upaya pelestarian eco-system.The exploitative sand mining in Selat District contributed to the economic growth; however, the local people were never aware that it had caused the environment to be degraded. The phenomenon of the exploitative sand mining is used as the theme and subject matter of an art creation. From what was observed by the artist, an insight into something contributed to a creative process. The problem was reflected in the form of language using the method of hyperbole. The art creation was created using the structured, spontaneous and intuitive creative steps and method which led to a unique elaboration of all the imaginary components and a creative metaphor and concept. The creation was designed in a studio before it was moved to or arranged around the mining area. The relation between the location of presentation and people could become a specific strength as it was in accordance with the context of the subject matter. The target of the art work did not only constitute an individual expression which was limited to the matter of common aesthetics but it was also used as the way of and the tool for transmitting (campaigning) an environmental issue. The art creation could be used to inspire people, as individuals and groups, to participate in the attempt made to preserve the eco-system

Abstract

Maskot tidak sekedar bentuk yang tanpa makna, didalamnya terdapat nilai filosofis yang membawa pesan penting dari suatu cita-cita bersama. Sistem identitas menjadi penghubung antara kajian keberadaan maskot dan kebutuhan pencitraan suatu daerah. Setiap daerah, tentu saja memiliki keunikan yang membedakan dengan daerah lainnya; keunikan tersebut akan memberikan keuntungan tersendiri bagi entitas yang ada dalam ruang lingkupnya. Begitu pula untuk Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, yang meskipun notabene telah menyandang predikat daerah istimewa akan tetapi perlu juga dipikirkan membangun identitas wilayahnya sebagai asosiasi penguatnya. Fokus dalam penelitian kualitatif ini akan menguak sejauh mana peran Pemerintah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dalam proses pemikiran membuat “maskot” yang menunjukan keistimewaannya. Kajian penulisan dengan penekanan pandangan kebudayaan melalui UU keistimewaan D.I. Yogyakarta yang disandingkan dengan pemikiran mengenai pencitraan kota.

Abstract

Osi and Ji are city mascots that were inaugurated at the end of 2016 by the city government of Malang in conjunction with the celebration of its 103rd anniversary. The mascots which are resulted from a contest were made by Papang Jakfar and won through several stage stages process including presentation from hundreds of participants. This brings its own fascination as the use of mascots as city icons has not been so popular in Indonesia due to the complex composition of its creation process, from its relationship with the culture, resources, community characteristic to infrastructure facilities of a city. This complexity is summed up in the form of a city mascot as a paradox. Form in hermeneutics is text and can be viewed polisemically, so interpretation becomes a central problem. Thus, hermeneutics aims to verstehen (comprehend) through the method of abduction, not just interpreting. Interpretation is always a reconstruction of the meaning of a text. Analysis with hermeneutics method becomes an immanent part in the mascot's profanity as a design product, mascot's form is an entity created from the results of thinking in design that is loaded with consideration and ability of a qualified individual. Osi and Ji mascots are specifically analyzed by applying Paul Ricouer's theory of Hermeneutics, in which hermeneutics can be brieflydefined as a theory or philosophy of interpretation of meaning that analyzes the various symbols in its form. The objective of the research is to analyze more deeply and interpret the existing circumstances or relationships, ongoing processes, ongoing effects or emerging phenomena, since the results of the Osi and Ji analysis generate to a new knowledge formed from various entities.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced people to minimize their activities and choose essential things to do. Apart from maintaining personal and environmental hygiene, mental health is the priority. The RajutKejut Community is a group of female crocheters who yarn bombs with crochet works. RajutKejut received an invitation from the Jakarta Biennale 2021 to exhibit their work in a public space. Their work “Sesaji Nusantara”, presented a crochet installation in the form of flowers and crops arrangements, as an offering to God. Through crocheting in a quarantine atmosphere, a space for reflection and contemplation is formed. This is essential to consider that besides preserving quality intake, the body's immunity can also be increased by maintaining mental health and happiness. As a research question, how RajutKejut community through activity body by making communal crafts can create an understanding of themselves and their environment, which is an understanding that leads to the formation of mental health amid the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses the phenomenological perception by Maurice Merleau-Ponty as an analysis method which is bodily experiences could help people to comprehend their world, particularly in the current pandemic situation. At the end of the discussion, this research shows that the pandemic conditions encourage people to look back at the past, realize their existence in present, and project themselves to plan their next steps. This can be realized by carrying out bodily activities consciously, which brings humans back to retrace their existence in the world as humans who have bodies that can 'make' to fulfill their needs, using their bodies, therefore that awareness of self and self-existence is awakened.

Abstract

Penelitian terhadap resepsi audiens terhadap drama radio “Parahara Tegalreja” ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui resepsi atau tanggapan audien masyarakat Yogyakarta. Dari resepsi itu akan dapat diketahui apakah responden menganggap “Parahara Tegalreja” sebagai karya yang (1) sangat buruk, (2) buruk, (3) cukup, (4) baik, (5) sangat baik. Makna drama radio ini ditentukan oleh dominasi penilaian mereka pada lima aspek tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitaf. Teori yang dipergunakan mendekati objek penelitian adalah teori resepsi teater. Teori resepsi merupakan teori yang mengkaji penerimaan audiens tentang apresiasinya terhadap karya seni. Teori resepsi berbicara mengenai bagaimana orang-orang selain pengarang atau pencipta menyumbang makna sebuah karya seni. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 151 orang responden, maka 50% lebih diantaranya menganggap drama radio “Prahara Tegalreja” menunnjukkan kualitas yang baik. Sekitar 40% responden menilai “Prahara Tegalreja” baik. Responden yang menilai drama ini buruk dan sangat buruk kurang 5%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa prosentase jumlah responden yang meresepsi drama radio ini sebagai karya yang berkualitas berjumlah 50%+40%: 90%. Artinya sebagian besar responden merespon atau menerima dengan baik drama radio tersebut. Dengan demikian drama ini baik untuk dinikmati masyarakat.

Abstract

The proliferation of contemporary cafes in the Surakarta area and its surroundings has added to the increasing wheel of the economy. It is recognized that during the Covid 19 pandemic these efforts were somewhat dimmed, but after or after the Covid 19 pandemic, these efforts continued to increase. Contemporary cafe businesses, especially those that open coffee shops, mostly require something artistic, it can be in the form of decoration, appearance in arranging the room to other things. Decorations or cool language, aesthetic elements are needed to make these cafes more attractive to visitors, especially young people. Young people or children today need places to gather or hang out as well as places for selvi or making stories. Seeing this very promising business opportunity makes the author quite intrigued by this problem. Business opportunities, especially those engaged in making aesthetic elements on the walls of contemporary cafes. Based on the experience gained by the author as a graphic artist, it encourages the author to find suitable partners to be trained in the creation of graphic art works in the form of aesthetic elements, especially those using high and mini-sized printing techniques. The author finally chose the Makmur Graphic Community. This community is a community engaged in graphic studios, exhibition venues and also a place for graphic art work. The purpose of this PKM is to train and assist the Makmoer Graphic Community so that they can produce high-tech graphic art products in a mini format, as an aesthetic element in contemporary cafes in the Surakarta area and its surroundings. The choice of the Makmur Graphic Community as a partner is because this community is inhabited by very young members, besides that this community is already very present in the graphic arts arena, especially in the Surakarta area and its surroundings. Many events have been held both online and offline, it's just that this community has shortcomings, especially in the products produced. For the methodology, Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). The impact is clear that the Makmur Graphic Community is now not only able to produce works of graphic art as a medium of expression, but can also produce decorative works or aesthetic elements. The second clearly produces a significant impact in the economy because the demand for these crafts from time to time has increased. And this is very supportive of the theme of this national seminar, namely the role of universities in community empowerment in supporting progress after the Covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

Arabic calligraphy can be an art medium for da'wah, it can also be an aesthetic medium at home or in a mosque or otherwise. The arts-based activities are no exception. One of them is the art of Arabic calligraphy, the art of Arabic calligraphy itself is taught from elementary to high school based on Islamic schools. Calligraphy is indeed very interesting to teach, because it can be used as a medium to instill an attitude of religiosity and devotion to God Almighty through the media of art. Based on the experience that has been experienced by the author both as a creator of Arabic calligraphy works and also as a graphic artist, the author and the PKM TEAM are trying to find partners, especially schools that are suitable to be trained in the creation of calligraphy works by combining graphic art and collage techniques. The author considers the importance of inculcating religiosity among junior high school students with a touch of art and entrepreneurship. The purpose of this community service (PKM) is to train and assist students of SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Jaten, Karanganyar, especially in Arabic calligraphy art lessons so that they can progress and develop. The second is so that the work produced is not only an educational medium but can be a business opportunity in the arts, especially calligraphy. So that the resulting calligraphy works can be sold at art exhibitions, online stores and others. The training process went through several stages, including 1. Problem identification stage at the location 2. Training and mentoring stage at The Park Mall, Sukoharjo 3. Participants evaluation stage and the work produced.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this community service is to provide application and understanding of the importance of making publications via YouTube, as a means of introducing that documentation is not only for individuals or institutions, but can be disseminated throughout the world through online media. The problem regarding the publication of works is indeed very vital, for that apart from the workshop technically the creation, it is also supported by publication via YouTube. This high-print technique calligraphy art workshop also uses YouTube publications, so that the workshop process and its work or results can be widely enjoyed and appreciated. This workshop or community service uses 3 stages, namely location identification, training and also work evaluation. The impact of this community service is that this workshop is able to educate and also inspire people who see it, because it is disseminated through online media, namely uploading workshop documentation videos via the Makmoer channel Art project.
