Abstract

Organizational change has become an unavoidable necessity for the rice milling industry as it responds to technological advancement, market competition, and increasing demands for efficiency and quality. In this context, leadership that emphasizes learning, capacity building, and adaptive behavior plays a strategic role in guiding organizational transformation. This study aims to examine educational leadership models and their contribution to supporting effective change management within the rice milling industry. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach through case studies involving rice milling enterprises undergoing organizational change. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify leadership practices, change strategies, and their impacts on organizational performance. The findings indicate that educational leadership characterized by participatory decision-making, continuous learning, and empowerment of human resources significantly facilitates the change management process. Leaders who function as educators are able to enhance employee readiness, reduce resistance to change, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. This study concludes that the integration of educational leadership principles into organizational change management contributes to sustainable organizational development in the rice milling industry. The results are expected to provide theoretical contributions to leadership and change management studies, as well as practical implications for industry leaders facing similar transformation challenges.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam upaya peningkatan kesehatan lingkungan dan derajat kesehatan masyarakat. Lingkungan yang tidak dikelola dengan baik, khususnya terkait dengan keberadan sampah yang dapat menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan, seperti gangguan pernapasan akibat pembakaran sampah serta penurunan kualitas lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melaksanakan intervensi terhadap kondisi lingkungan yang sesuai hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Pelaksanaan kegiatan di RT 021 dan RT 022/RW 005 Kelurahan Lasiana, Kecamatan Kelapa Lima, Kota Kupang, pada bulan Januari 2026. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lingkungan, wawancara, pengisian kuesioner kepada 117 kepala keluarga, serta pelatihan dan edukasi pengolahan sampah. Intervensi yang dilaksanakan berupa edukasi pemilahan sampah, demonstrasi pengolahan sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos padat, serta edukasi pengolahan sampah plastik menjadi bahan bakar minyak (BBM). Hasil intervensi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat terkait edukasi sebesar 58%, untuk demonstrasi pengolahan sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos dan pengolahan sampah plastik menjadi BBM telah dipahami oleh masyarakat yang ditandai dengan antusiasme saat tanya jawab dari masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakt ini diharapkan dapat mendorong perubahan perilaku masyarakat dalam mengelola sampah rumah tangga serta berkontribusi pada peningkatan kesehatan lingkungan dan derajat kesehatan masyarakat.

Abstract

Sanitation plays a crucial role in salt processing to ensure the quality and safety of salt for consumer consumption. Salt processing conducted under high sanitation standards has a positive impact on the quality of the salt produced. This study aims to investigate the sanitation condition of salt processing in Oebelo, Kupang Regency. The research design is descriptive observational with a survey approach. The sample size consists of 31 salt-processing household in Oebelo. The result of the study indicate that all 31 salt production facilities in Oebelo Village, Kupang Regency, meet the health standards for salt processing sanitation. The variables that fall under category of meeting health standards include location and enviroment; production equipment; water supply/facilities for water provision; employee health and hygiene; maintenance anda sanitation hygiene programs; and storage. The variables categorized as not meeting health standards are building and facilities; and hygiene and sanitation facilities and activities.
