Abstract

Indonesia is currently facing a literacy crisis, with the literacy skills of Indonesian children ranking 45th out of 48 countries. This study aims to describe the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (Gerakan Literasi Sekolah/GLS) in Grade V at SDN 4 Sinanggul. The research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive narrative method. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, with interview sheets serving as the primary instrument. The data analysis process includes stages of data collection, presentation, verification, and condensation. The results reveal that the implementation of GLS has generally followed the guidelines set by the government, although the learning implementation phase has not been fully carried out. The stages that have been implemented include the habituation and development phases. Activities in the habituation stage include 15 minutes of reading before lessons begin, organizing facilities and infrastructure, and creating a school environment that supports literacy activities. In the development phase, teachers play an active role through integrated reading activities, group reading, and discussions. This study contributes to understanding the extent of GLS implementation and its impact on fostering a culture of literacy at SDN 4 Sinanggul. ABSTRAKIndonesia saat ini tengah menghadapi krisis literasi, di mana kemampuan literasi anak-anak Indonesia berada pada peringkat ke-45 dari 48 negara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) diterapkan di kelas V SDN 4 Sinanggul. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif naratif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan lembar wawancara sebagai instrumen utama. Analisis data mencakup tahap pengumpulan, penyajian, verifikasi, dan penyederhanaan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan GLS telah mengikuti pedoman yang ditetapkan pemerintah, meskipun pada tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran belum sepenuhnya berjalan. Tahapan yang sudah dilaksanakan mencakup tahap pembiasaan dan tahap pengembangan. Kegiatan pada tahap pembiasaan meliputi membaca selama 15 menit sebelum pelajaran dimulai, penataan sarana prasarana, serta penciptaan lingkungan sekolah yang mendukung kegiatan literasi. Sementara itu, pada tahap pengembangan, guru berperan aktif melalui kegiatan membaca terpadu, membaca bersama, dan diskusi. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami tingkat penerapan serta dampak GLS terhadap pembentukan budaya literasi di SDN 4 Sinanggul.

Abstract

Abstract: Critical thinking skills are part of learning outcomes that emphasize Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) which must be instilled in students. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of the contextual Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills in civic education in class V SDN 3 Bringin. This research applies a quantitative approach with a one group pretest-posttest design pre-experimental method on 25 students. The instruments used are pretest-posttest questions and questionnaires. The results show a significant difference in students' critical thinking skills before and after applying the contextual PBL model. The paired sample t-test obtained a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 (0.05), thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results of the pretest-posttest show an average increase from 61.68 to 82.12. Meanwhile, the average percentage of the questionnaire increased from 58.02% to 80,13%. Thus, the final conclusion is that the contextual-based PBL model is proven effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in Pancasila education in grade V of SDN 3 Bringin.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Contextual, Critical Thinking, Pancasila EducationAbstrak: Keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah bagian dari capaian pembelajaran yang menekankan pada Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) yang harus ditanamkan dalam diri siswa. Abstract

Mastery of literacy and character remains a challenge at the elementary school level, as observed at SDN 3 Ujungbatu Jepara. This community service (PkM) activity aimed to enhance teachers' competency in developing students' literacy skills and managing anti-bullying prevention programs. Utilizing a service-learning approach encompassing socialization, training, mentoring, and reflective evaluation, the program achieved significant improvements. Results showed an 89% increase in partners' insight regarding learning innovations and bullying prevention, and an 87.5% improvement in teachers' skills in leveraging technology for literacy and anti-bullying initiatives. Furthermore, digital journaling application proved effective in implementing anti-bullying attitudes and enhancing students' literacy skills through daily reflections, with an 88.5% success rate. The impact of this training and mentoring directly contributed positively to the increased competency and creativity of the partners.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of using fairy tale books as a learning medium on the values of the noble character dimension in the Pancasila Student Profile among fourth-grade students at SD Islam Unggulan Fadlun Nafis Bangsri. The research is grounded in the urgency of character education within the Merdeka Curriculum and the need for contextual and engaging learning strategies. The study applied a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design: One Group Pretest-Posttest Design involving 26 students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire based on five indicators of noble character and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in mean scores from 68.46 (pretest) to 80.04 (posttest). The t-test yielded a significance value of p < 0.001 and a Cohen's d score of 3.431, indicating a very large effect size. These findings suggest that fairy tale books are effective in enhancing students' character values, particularly in the moral-spiritual dimension. Story-based learning helps students internalize moral values through engaging, reflective, and age-appropriate narratives. This research recommends the integration of fairy tale books as a character education strategy within the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile in elementary schools. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media buku dongeng terhadap nilai dimensi berakhlak mulia dalam Profil Pelajar Pancasila siswa kelas IV SD Islam Unggulan Fadlun Nafis Bangsri. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya pendidikan karakter dalam Kurikulum Merdeka, serta perlunya pendekatan pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan menyenangkan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre- experiment tipe One Group Pretest-Posttest Design pada 26 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket skala Likert dengan lima indikator dimensi akhlak mulia. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 68,46 (pretest) menjadi 80,04 (posttest). Uji t menghasilkan nilai signifikansi (p < 0,001) dan nilai Cohen’s d sebesar 3,431 yang tergolong dalam efek sangat besar. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa media buku dongeng efektif dalam meningkatkan nilai karakter siswa, khususnya pada aspek akhlak mulia. Penggunaan buku dongeng terbukti mampu membantu internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter melalui narasi yang menarik, reflektif, dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pemanfaatan buku dongeng sebagai strategi pembelajaran karakter dalam implementasi Profil Pelajar Pancasila di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of dora (dongeng nusantara) application media in cultivating the civic character of grade 4 students at SDN 2 Surodadi. The method used in this research is pre experiment one group pretest posttest design. Data collection was done by multiple choice questionnaire and observation. Data analysis used shapiro-wilk normality test, n-gain test and paired t-test. The results showed that the N-Gain value was 0.84 or equivalent to 84.83%, indicating that the use of DoRa media was classified as very effective in increasing students' understanding and appreciation of citizenship character values. The paired sample t-test results show a significance value of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. This indicates that there is a significant difference between students' citizenship character before and after using the DoRa application media. The difference can be seen from the average value of the pretest of 81.20 and the posttest of 96.45 which indicates a significant difference of 15.25. The use of DoRa application media is proven to be effective in cultivating the citizenship character of grade 4 students at SDN 2 Surodadi. Thus, DoRa media is expected to be implemented further in order to create a noble civic character. ABSTRAKKarakter kewargaan yang meliputi cinta tanah air dan peduli terhadap sesame di kalangan siswa sudah cukup memprihatinkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas media aplikasi dora (dongeng nusantara) dalam penanaman karakter kewargaan siswa kelas 4 di SDN 2 Surodadi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pre experiment one group pretest posttest design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket pilihan ganda dan observasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas shapiro-wilk, uji n gain dan uji paired t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,84 atau setara dengan 84,83% menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media DoRa tergolong sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan penghayatan siswa terhadap nilai-nilai karakter kewargaan. Hasil uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000, yang lebih kecil dari 0,05. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara karakter kewargaan siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media aplikasi DoRa. Perbedaan tersebut dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 81,20 dan posttest sebesar 96,45 yang menandakan terjadi perbedaan signifikan sebesar 15,25. Penggunaan media aplikasi DoRa terbukti efektif dalam penanaman karakter kewargaan siswa kelas 4 di SDN 2 Surodadi. Dengan demikian maka media DoRa diharapkan dapat diimplementasikan secara lebih lanjut demi terciptanya karakter kewargaan yang luhur.

Abstract

Purpose –This research aims to describe teachers’ perceptions of Madrasah Ramah Anak (MRA), uncover their experiences in applying its principles, and identify challenges and strategies used in the process.Method – A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving 19 active teachers at MTs Tsamrotul Huda, Jepara. Data were collected February-April 2025 through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and open-ended questionnaires. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s framework, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. To ensure accuracy and credibility, the analysis was supported by triangulation techniques. Findings – The study found varied interpretations of MRA among teachers. Around two-thirds of the participants reported consistently applying child-friendly practices through fair, participatory, and nurturing approaches. However, challenges persist, including limited facilities, safety concerns, academic pressure, and inconsistent supervision. Teachers demonstrated strong commitment to creating inclusive classrooms, with 14 out of 19 emphasizing the importance of social-emotional guidance. As one teacher expressed, “Being a child-friendly teacher means listening to students’ feelings before teaching them lessons. Research Implications – The findings underline the importance of continuous training, reflective practice, and collaboration among teachers, students, and parents. This study, however, has some limitations: it was conducted in a single school, relied on self-reported data that may be affected by social desirability bias, and showed inconsistencies between reported student participation and the teacher-focused sample. Future research should involve schools from different regions, include more varied participants, and use longitudinal observation to examine the long-term impact of child-friendly education.

Abstract

Implementasi kurikulum merdeka belajar di sekolah dasar masih belum optimal. Belum adanya pemahaman utuh serta kreatifitas dalam proses pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang dilakukan oleh guru. Salah satunya di SD Miftahussa’adah. Sehingga butuh support system dalam upaya peningkatan kualitas SDM dan mutu pembelajaran agar berkualitas dan bermakna. Sesuai dengan kesepakatan mitra, prioritas permasalahan diatas akan mendapatkan solusi dengan membuat kegiatan pelatihan terkait pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran pada Kurikulum Merdeka dan peningkatan mutu pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar Miftahussa’adah. Adapun metode pelaksanakan program pengabdian sekolah binaan ini meliputi beberapa tahap yaitu: (1) tahap sosialisasi dengan sharing materi pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran kurikulum merdeka untuk jenjang sekolah dasar, (2) tahap pelatihan dilakukan dengan memberikan materi pembuatan media pembelajaran digital, asesmen kurikulum merdeka, pembelajaran berdiferensiasi melalui Canva, Chat Gpt dan Tome.App. (3) tahap pendampingan dilakukan dengan mendampingi mitra dalam praktik membuat media pembelajaran digital dengan mengacu pada konsep merdeka belajar, dan (4) tahap evaluasi (keberlanjutan) dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada mitra untuk keberhasilan mitra dalam memahami implementasi kurikulum merdeka serta pembuatan media pembelajaran yang inovatif. Hasil Pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa 94% dari mitra merasa puas dengan kemampuan mereka dalam membuat modul ajar yang sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Selain itu, 96% dari mitra juga merasa terbantu dalam menciptakan inovasi media pembelajaran digital dengan bantuan alat seperti Canva, Chat GPT, dan Tome.App.

Abstract

Tantangan era digital sangatlah beragam, salah satunya minimnya literasi budaya peserta didik yang berdampak pada pengetahuan keragaman budaya daerah Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji efektivitas model pembelajaran project citizen dalam meningkatkan literasi budaya peserta didik kelas 5 di SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. Hal ini didasari oleh rendahnya pemahaman peserta didik terhadap budaya mereka,mengkaji efektivitas model project citizen ini dilakukan treatment  selama 3 hari (3 Kali) dari tanggal 23 Juli – 25 Juli 2024. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi seberapa efektif model Project citizen dalam meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap kebudayaan, khususnya dalam konteks keragaman budaya daerah. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis eksperimen tipe pre-experiment dan rancangan one-group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen pada penelitian ini menggunakan soal pre-test dan pot-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan diantara nilai pre-test dan post-test dengan selisih rata-rata sebesar 13,28 poin dengan (Sig. 2 tail) sebesar 0,000 yang menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran project citizen efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi budaya siswa. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model project citizen merupakan suatu model pembelajaran yang efektif diterapkan dalam meningkatkan keaslian dalam pengetahuan literasi budaya siswa di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

In response to the growing emphasis on meaningful and student-centered English instruction in Indonesian primary schools, this study investigates the effectiveness of an Interactive English Story Book in fostering young learners’ engagement, motivation, comprehension, and autonomous learning. This study explores the potential and educational benefits of an Interactive English Story Book aimed at improving engagement, motivation, comprehension, and usability for young learners. A mixed-methods approach was utilized to combine quantitative trends with qualitative insights, facilitating a thorough understanding of learning processes.  This design was selected to triangulate perceptual data from students and educators within genuine classroom environments.  The investigation included 13 fourth-grade students from a suburban elementary school, serving as a phase to assess feasibility and user feedback.  Data collection involved the use of student questionnaires, classroom observations, and interviews. The results indicated a high level of engagement, motivation, and usability, as students reacted favorably to the visual and interactive elements.  Some minor comprehension challenges were observed in story contexts that were culturally unfamiliar, and educators reported connectivity issues in rural regions. This study presents a unique approach by integrating digital storytelling, English as a Foreign Language pedagogy, and curriculum reform, validated through mixed-method classroom research.  This provides foundational evidence for expanding digital storytelling innovations within Indonesia’s Merdeka Belajar framework and for future longitudinal studies in English as a Foreign Language.
