Abstract

This study evaluates the Healthy Schools Program at senior high schools in South Indralaya and its impact on students' healthy behavior development. The results showed that high schools in South Indralaya have successfully implemented the Healthy Schools Program, which has a positive impact on the development of students' healthy behaviors. The program includes physical education, nutrition, environmental sanitation, and school health services. Collaboration between BK teachers, UKS, sports teachers, healthy canteen officers, and community health centers increased students' awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Students began to implement healthy eating habits, maintain personal hygiene, exercise regularly and choose healthy foods. Increased physical activity through school sports contributes to fitness and a reduced risk of obesity. Hygiene initiatives, such as waste management, also encourage cleanliness practices at home and school. In addition, mental health awareness increased and students were more proactive in seeking emotional support. Environmental education programs foster students' concern for the environment through activities such as tree planting.

Abstract

Teacher performance gaps remain a persistent challenge in improving educational quality, influenced by the effectiveness of academic supervision and principals’ motivational leadership. This study examines the extent to which these two factors contribute to the performance of public senior high school teachers in Banyuasin Regency. Employing a quantitative approach with a correlational design, the research involved 126 teachers selected through random sampling. The measurement instruments demonstrated adequate construct validity (AVE > 0.50) and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.70). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that academic supervision (β = 0.261; p = 0.003) and principal motivation (β = 0.373; p < 0.001) exert significant positive effects on teacher performance, both individually and jointly (F = 11.222; p < 0.001), yielding an R² value of 0.154. These findings underscore the relevance of Self-Determination Theory in explaining how leadership support fulfills teachers’ psychological needs. Practically, the results highlight the importance of strengthening coaching-based supervision and motivational strategies to foster a more supportive professional environment and promote continuous performance improvement.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a key determinant of instructional quality and school effectiveness. However, previous studies have often examined teacher professionalism and school management separately, resulting in limited empirical evidence on their combined effects, particularly in the context of senior high schools at the district level. This study aims to examine the influence of teacher professional development and school management on teacher performance, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative explanatory design with multiple linear regression analysis was employed. The population consisted of 80 teachers, all of whom were included as the sample using total sampling. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires that met validity and reliability requirements and analyzed using SPSS. The results indicate that teacher professional development (β = 0.549; p < 0.001) and school management (β = 0.386; p < 0.001) have positive and significant effects on teacher performance. Simultaneously, both variables explain 72.7% of the variance in teacher performance (R² = 0.727; p < 0.001). These findings highlight the importance of synergy between individual professional capacity and effective school management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principals’ managerial competence and work motivation on teacher performance in senior and vocational high schools in Pemulutan District. Using a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design, the research involved 81 teachers through census technique. Data collection instruments consisted of validated Likert-scale questionnaires (r>0.374; α>0.90). Data analysis employed Spearman correlation and multiple linear regression. Based on the analysis, principals’ managerial competence has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance with a moderate contribution, while work motivation shows a stronger and more dominant positive influence with a higher contribution. Simultaneously, both variables significantly affect teacher performance with a strong combined contribution and a small synergistic effect. The regression equation further indicates that work motivation has a greater impact than managerial competence, making it the most influential factor in improving teacher performance. Managerial implications: principals need to optimize managerial competence while facilitating the development of teachers’ work motivation to enhance education quality.
