Abstract

The Acting School Principal faces the challenge of increased responsibilities. This is especially true for teachers who are given the additional task of serving as acting school principal. This challenge can affect their work motivation because their workload increases, which also means their responsibilities grow. Such conditions can impact the effectiveness of the leadership management function due to the work motivation of an acting school principal who is temporarily filling the position. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study design aimed at understanding how acting school principals interpret their roles, the strategies they use to manage the school organization, how management functions are applied, and how motivation influences daily leadership actions. The results show that the Acting Principal of SMA Negeri 02 Tenggarong has high motivation in carrying out leadership functions, performs responsibilities by implementing management functions (planning, organizing, actuating, controlling), and there are supporting and inhibiting factors in carrying out their duties.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze financial management at SMK Negeri 1 Anggana to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability of financial governance based on Good Financial Governance (GFG). The study used a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation studies, as well as analysis of the Miles and Huberman interactive model.The results indicate that school financial management adheres to the RKAS guidelines, but remains administrative in nature and is not based on real needs. Transparency and accountability are suboptimal due to limited public access and management capabilities. The implementation of the e-RKAS digital system is hampered by infrastructure and financial literacy. Key factors influencing financial effectiveness include leadership, human resource competency, and regional policy support.This study emphasizes the importance of implementing GFG in vocational education and recommends strengthening financial governance based on transparency, participation, and digitalization as a step towards financial independence in vocational schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for the integration of the traditional game-based Team Games Tournament (TGT) model in elementary school learning. The method used is qualitative descriptive research with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and focused group discussions (FGD) in elementary schools. The results show that both teachers and students express a high need for a more interactive and collaboration-based learning model, where TGT can increase student engagement. Traditional games, which are rich in local cultural values, have been shown to enrich the learning experience and support the development of students' social skills. The main challenge found was the lack of teachers' understanding of how to integrate traditional games in TGT. The implications of these findings are the need to develop learning models that combine TGT and traditional games, as well as training for teachers to optimize their implementation in primary school learning, in order to create more comprehensive and meaningful learning.   Keywords: learning innovation; Team Games Tournament; Traditional Games; Cooperative Learning

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the educational quality of SD Negeri 001 Pulau Derawan based on Education Report data using a SWOT analysis approach as the basis for formulating school quality improvement strategies. The study was motivated by the low literacy and numeracy achievement of students and the suboptimal utilization of Education Report data in data-based school planning. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data were collected through observation and document analysis of the 2023 Education Report of SD Negeri 001 Pulau Derawan. Data analysis was conducted using SWOT analysis by identifying the school’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats based on educational quality indicators and field conditions. The results showed that the school’s strengths lie in school safety climate, student character, inclusivity climate, and the principal’s instructional leadership. Meanwhile, the main weaknesses include low literacy and numeracy achievement, basic-level learning quality, and limited learning facilities. The opportunities available include the Merdeka Belajar policy, School Operational Assistance (BOS) funding, the Merdeka Mengajar Platform, and local government support. The main threats consist of geographical limitations of the island area, high teacher turnover, and limited internet access. Based on the SWOT analysis, several quality improvement strategies were formulated, focusing on strengthening literacy and numeracy, improving teacher competence, optimizing contextual learning based on local potential, and strengthening collaboration between schools and the community.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis program dengan mengenalkan dan melatih penggunaan Progressive Web Apps pada perangkat mobile smartphone sistem operasi Android. Partisipan sebanyak 27 peserta berpartisipasi di Program PkM Teknologi Informasi SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang, Kecamatan Bangkinang, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1, 2, 3 November 2022.  Jurusan RPL memfokuskan pada kemampuan siswa pada pemrograman mobile, namun komputer yang tersedia tidak mampu menjalankan bahasa pemrograman native, sehingga diperlukan bahasa pemrograman dengan framework siap dijalankan di perangkat mobile. Untuk mengatasi permasalah tersebut adalah penerapan Progressive Web Apps yang mumpuni dijalankan secara hybrid. Sebagai bahan evaluasi, menggunakan metode observasi partisipan dengan mempersiapkan catatan lapangan yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan proses kegiatan berlangsung. Dokumen berupa teks dan gambar peserta pelatihan dikumpulkan dan dijadikan bahan bukti kemandirian peserta pelatihan. Data dari catatan lapangan dan teks peserta didik dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik dengan pendekatan induktif. Ditemukan bahwa tim PkM dapat membangun pengetahuan dan kemampuan peserta didik dalam melakukan pemrograman menggunakan Progressive Web Apps dan mempraktekkan secara langsung. Tim PkM mengimplementasikan pengajaran eksplisit dan bimbingan tutor untuk memfasilitasi peserta pelatihan dan berusaha secara mandiri dalam aktivitas mendesain tampilan aplikasi, menulis program, membangun logika, menganalisa permasalahan, menyelesaikan masalah dan menjalankan secara mandiri dalam bentuk kelompok. Berdasarkan hasil post-test dan pre-test didapatkan adanya peningkatan kapasitas keilmuan dan kompetensi pemrograman sebesar 14,7%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the social-problem-based Project Citizen model on the civic disposition and participation skills of elementary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design (nonequivalent control group design). The study subjects consisted of two classes: an experimental class that received instruction using the social-problem-based Project Citizen model and a control class that used an inquiry-based learning model. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire to measure civic disposition and an observation sheet to assess participation skills. The data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test and MANOVA. The results indicate that the social issue-based Project Citizen model has a significant effect on civic disposition with a significance value of 0.006 (
