Abstract

International Humanitarian Law regulates war in two broad categories: international armed conflict (IAC) and non-international armed conflict (NIAC). The conflict in Syria is an example of a war that has claimed numerous lives. A non-international armed conflict is what it is called when it comes to the crisis in Syria. Violence, both physical and mental, began to take place in Syria. In the aftermath of the political upheaval, a civil war broke out, resulting in war crimes such as murder, kidnapping, bombardment, and rape. The bloodshed and the worst humanitarian disaster in Syria's history were a direct result of this. " The goal of this investigation was to determine the efficiency of International Humanitarian Law in dealing with the war crimes committed in Syria. A deductive approach to descriptive qualitative research was used in this study. Furthermore, the information used in this study was culled from reputable sources such as academic publications and news websites. Since there were so many violations of international humanitarian law during the Syrian crisis, it's hard to tell how effective it was in helping to end the conflict.

Abstract

Violations of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law of Israel against Palestine have generated a lot of attention from the state and the world community, including Ireland. The existence of historical similarities made Ireland take a stance to support Palestine in gaining independence from Israeli colonization. IPSC (Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign) as one of the CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) in Ireland is one of the actors that plays an active role in pressuring the Irish government to pass the Bill on the Prohibition of Importing Israeli Products, namely through the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement. Based on this, this study aims to understand the significance of the role of transnational networks carried out by IPSC as CSOs in the study of International Relations in terms of the framework of the Transnational Advocacy Network (TAN) in particular "leverage politics" and "accountability politics". This study applies qualitative methods with analytical descriptive techniques in assessing the sources of research data. The results showed that horizontally, IPSC as a CSO had a positive impact on the creation of awareness of the Irish people to support the Palestinian people's struggle for independence. Keywords: Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC), Civil Society Organization (CSO), Transnational Advocacy Network (TAN), Boycott-Divestment and Sanctions (BDS).

The results show that Indonesia tends to focus on establishing peace and upholding the rights of every citizen in Afghanistan. This is viewed from the principle of Indonesia's foreign policy which is "Free and Active" as well as the concept of norms and identity in the constructivism paradigm.

Abstract

Global warming has become a global issue related to the environment, because of its impact on all countries today. The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement that focuses on the environment, as an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that have an impact on global warming. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Kyoto Protocol as an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia. This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study method about the efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia through the Kyoto Protocol. The results of this study indicate that the Kyoto Protocol is considered ineffective in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia, even though Indonesia has implemented it through technology transfer and coordination in the application of biofuels to reduce carbon emissions. This is indicated by the level of damage or loss of Indonesia’s forests to 2.8 million ha/year after the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol in 2006-2007. As an international treaty, the Kyoto Protocol does not have a compulsive enforcement mechanism. So that the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol as an international agreement will not be effective, f it is not accompanied by consistency and consequences for all member countries in its implementation.

Abstract

The Palestinian people have fought for decades for their independence. However, the Palestinian area is being steadily reduced as a result of Israel's annexation efforts, therefore independence is not achieved. Political liberalism in the age of globalization is mostly ineffective, as international norms and regulations are unable to prevent Israel's annexation of Palestine. This study intends to investigate if international political realism still exists in the period of globalization, which is characterized by global political interdependence. In this work, a descriptive analytic approach with qualitative research and literature review approaches are utilized to collect data. The results demonstrate that the existence of realism may be demonstrated in the question of Israel's annexation of Palestine, where the use of force is still emphasized in order to further Israel's national interests. Israel continues to develop weapons technology in order to maintain control over Palestine as part of its annexation of the territory. In addition, Israel's alliance with Western nations, particularly the United States, and its noncompliance with international norms and laws demonstrate that political liberalism in the form of international organizations cannot be a solution to the Israeli occupation conflict in Palestine and a manifestation of realism in the age of globalization.
