Abstract

Background. Higher education in this digital era is faced with significant changes, especially with the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Purpose. This research aims to explore the potential and limitations of integrating AI technology in improving the quality of distance learning and present findings that can guide the development of AI-based pedagogy. Method. This research method adopts a quantitative survey approach to detail the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the context of distance learning in higher education. A total of 20 students were randomly selected as respondents, with sample selection using the purposive sampling method. This process ensures maximum representation of students who have significant experience with the integration of AI technology in their learning. Data was collected through questionnaires focused on effectiveness, adaptability of material, and level of interactivity during learning. Next, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis will analyze patterns and relationships between variables to explore the effectiveness of AI technology, the factors that influence it, and its impact on student learning experiences. Results. Survey results show that the majority of students actively use AI technology, especially several times a week, and express a high level of satisfaction with the use of AI technology in distance learning. Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality learning experiences were considered to benefit the most, even though all respondents experienced challenges or obstacles in using AI technology. Conclusion. The conclusions of this research emphasize the need to address these challenges to maximize the benefits of integrating AI technology in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of distance learning in higher education.

Abstract

Using a bibliometric approach, this study analyses trends and problems in inclusive education research from 2018 to 2023. The data was taken from the Scopus database, with 200 publications found, sorted into 159 relevant articles, and then analyzed using the Biblioshiny software. The results showed a significant increase in the number of publications related to inclusive education, with the most significant spikes occurring in 2019 and 2020, with 46 articles each. The most frequently emerged keywords were inclusive education, special needs, disability, and inclusive pedagogy, which reflected the main focus on special needs and inclusive pedagogy. Geographical distribution shows that the research is dominated by developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, while developing countries still contribute relatively little. The network of collaboration between researchers is strong among developed countries, but cross-country collaboration with developing countries is still limited. The main problems identified in the literature are lack of teacher training, limited resources, and cultural resistance. In addition, there is a research gap in inclusive education at the university level and a lack of concrete solutions to address existing problems. This research provides important insights into the development of inclusive education research. It identifies areas that still need further exploration, especially in developing countries and in the context of higher education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of human error factors to traffic accidents in Bali using a mixed-method approach with a convergent triangulation design. Data were collected from three main sources: traffic accident records from the Bali Regional Police for the 2023–2024 period, a survey of 166 respondents, and in-depth interviews with five road safety experts. Quantitative analysis was conducted through statistical descriptions, Incident Rate per Million Vehicle Kilometers (IRMS), and assessment of public understanding levels, while qualitative analysis was carried out using a thematic approach supported by ChatGPT software. The results show that the majority of accidents occurred in Denpasar, with victims predominantly in the young adult age group (20–29 years), with senior high school education or equivalent, and without a driver's license. The most common type of accident was single-vehicle crashes involving motorcycles, occurring on collector roads in the afternoon, under clear weather and good road conditions. The survey revealed that only 3 out of 9 aspects were well understood by most respondents, indicating the need for public outreach regarding age, occupation, driver behavior, road conditions, road geometry, and weather. Expert interviews emphasized the importance of education through direct outreach, mass media, improved infrastructure, and stricter law enforcement. This study highlights the need for systemic and educational interventions to reduce the contribution of human error to traffic accidents in Bali.
