Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine and describe the significant influence of principals’ leadership styles and organizational culture on the improvement of educational quality in elementary schools within the Mesuji Raya District. The study will be carried out in elementary schools located in the Mesuji Raya District. A quantitative descriptive method is employed in this research. The population comprises all teachers from 24 elementary schools in the Mesuji Raya District, totaling 302 individuals. Based on the sampling calculations, the sample consists of 80 teachers from 6 selected elementary schools. Data were collected using questionnaires and documentation techniques. The data analysis procedures include normality testing, linearity testing, simple regression analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, and F-tests. The findings of this study reveal that principals’ leadership styles and organizational culture have a positive influence on the improvement of educational quality in elementary schools in the Mesuji Raya District.

Abstract

This qualitative case study investigated the role of a primary school principal in implementing technology-based academic supervision and teacher competency development. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at SDN 1 Sumber Hidup, Indonesia. Findings reveal three key strategies: needs-based training, the establishment of a teacher learning community (Kombel), and technology-based individual mentoring. The study demonstrates that a shift from a control-oriented to a coaching-oriented supervision model, facilitated by digital tools, fostered a collaborative professional culture and enhanced teacher capacity. The findings contribute to understanding how principals can operationalize instructional leadership in the digital era to build sustainable teacher professional development.

Abstract

Urgensi penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis sejauh mana kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya sekolah berperan dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru SD di Kecamatan Ilir Barat I Palembang guna mendukung mutu pendidikan yang lebih optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan: (1) Pengaruh kepemipinan kepala sekolah dengan kinerja guru; (2) Pengaruh budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru; dan (3) Pengaruh Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya sekolah secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri wilayah Ilir Barat I Palembang dengan sampel 4 sekolah yang berbeda. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan jumlah sampel yang akan diteliti peneliti adalah jumlah 84 guru dari keempat sekolah tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional, yang dimana Sampling adalah cara pengumpulan data apabila yang diselidiki hanya elemen sampel dari suatu populasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan rumus Slovin. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan angket atau kuesioner. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas menggunakan validitas konstruks sedangkan uji reliabilitas menggunakan Cronbach’s Alpha. Uji prasyarat analisis menggunakan uji heteroskedastisitas, uji normalitas, dan uji multikolinieritas serta data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier sederhana dan regresi linier ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 58,9%, (2) Budaya sekolah berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 61,4%, dan (3) Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya sekolah berpengaruh secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 45,2%.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of government policy on the success of education digitalisation in developing countries. The study uses a literature review method. The results show that government regulation and investment play an important role in improving the accessibility of educational technology, especially in remote areas. Policies that focus on providing adequate infrastructure, such as internet access and hardware, are key factors in facilitating the digitalisation of education. In addition, teacher training and competency development are important aspects that need attention to ensure that technology can be effectively integrated into the learning process. The importance of inclusive policies is also emphasised to reduce the digital divide through device subsidies and internet fee assistance programmes to ensure equal access for all students. In conclusion, comprehensive and well-planned government policies can encourage the successful digitalisation of education and improve the quality of education in developing countries.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the principal's strategies in enhancing school image through the analysis of student recruitment attractiveness and the management of bullying at public junior high schools (SMP Negeri) in North Prabumulih District. The research focus includes the role of leadership in branding, factors influencing prospective students' interest, and anti-bullying policies implemented by the principal.A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Prabumulih (an established school) and SMP Negeri 13 Prabumulih (a newly established school). Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with key informants (principals, vice-principals, guidance counselors, supervisors, and media representatives), and documentation. Qualitative data an alysis was used to identify patterns, similarities, and differences in strategies between the two schools. The results indicate that: (1) The principal's strategy for enhancing school image in the established school focuses on maintaining quality consistency and a long-standing reputation, while the new school emphasizes identity formation, brand awareness, and building public trust through the publication of positive activities. (2) The attractiveness of student recruitment is influenced by academic reputation, facilities, discipline, and a conducive learning environment. The new school specifically highlights character building and religious programs, such as Quranic literacy (Baca Tulis Al-Qur'an), to attract public interest. (3) Bullying management is conducted through preventive and curative approaches, involving synergy between the principal, guidance counselors, homeroom teachers, and parents through anti-bullying socialization, character development, and problem-solving mediation. In conclusion, visionary, communicative, and collaborative school leadership is the primary key to building a positive school image. Synergy between all school members and external stakeholders is essential to create an educational environment that is safe, character-driven, and highly competitive.
