Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Analyze how effective the use of teaching materials is based on folktales assisted with serial images. (2) Analyze how the feasibility of teaching materials based on folklore based on serial images developed to improve learning outcomes. This research uses Borg & Gel development research. Based on the results of the validity of material experts 85.42%, 85.7% design experts, and 94.44% linguists. From the results of the validation of teaching materials developed, the teaching materials based on folklore with serial images are included in the very good criteria and are declared to be effective and appropriate for use. Based on the completeness data of student learning outcomes before using the average value obtained reached 62, while after using individual completeness and classical average reached 85 with a gain score of 0.70 into the high category. And the questionnaire responses of students about the effectiveness of teaching materials reached 88% of 25 students. Based on this data teaching material based on rocky folktales is said to be effectively used in learning with the assumption that Indonesian students score higher when using material.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the development of HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) based news text assessment instruments for for 7th Grade Students in SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. The study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year. This type of research is research and development or Research and Development (R&D). This research is called R&D, by adopting eight steps of R&D research according to Sugiyono (2014: 137). The results of this study indicate that students' high-level thinking skills obtained an average score of 51.42. This value is in the medium category because the standard value is met 40 <x total score ≤ 60. The measurement results of the assessment instrument based on Higher Order Thinking Skill in the dimensions of students' persuasive text knowledge obtained superior conceptual ability results with a percentage of 76% in the sufficient category, followed by factual abilities with the percentage of 60% is in the sufficient category, students 'procedural knowledge is 58% with low category, and students' knowledge that is metacognitive there are 59% with enough category. Thus, it can be stated that the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan have advantages in the conceptual dimension of knowledge and the ability to think at a high level with a medium category, ie students must be accustomed to working on questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills so that students' abilities increase.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials for writing short stories based on experience to facilitate students in writing short text. The learning approach offered by researchers is considered appropriate for writing short text material because it can help students to easily express their ideas in writing short stories by linking the material with the context of their daily lives. In addition, experience is the best teacher because from experience one can learn. Experience is a memory that is recorded and stored as a story that forms a filter of perception that ultimately guides behavior. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of teaching short story writing lessons based on experiences developed for 7th grade student of junior high school 2 Kejuruan Muda was stated to be more effective than student handbooks. The results of the acquisition of student learning outcomes before and after using teaching materials have increased quite significantly by 8.28. The average score of students before (pretest) using teaching materials learning experiences writing short stories based on experience 74.43 and the average value of post (testing) using teaching materials learning writing short stories based on experience 82.71.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of a review text assessment model with authentic assessment in 11th grade students of Senior high school 1 Dolok Batunanggar Simalungun Regency. The subjects of this study were 11th grade students of Senior high school Negeri 1 Dolok Batunanggar, Simalungun Regency, and product validator experts totaling 4 people who had criteria as Indonesian Language material experts and assessment experts, namely authentic assessment. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of the authentic text assessment instrument review text obtained an average of 80.97%. The lowest student score is 70 and the highest is 98. This shows that student learning outcomes are better when compared to without the teacher using an authentic text review assessment tool. Based on the average value of students' posttest data it can be concluded that the ability of students has increased significantly high and reached KKM (72) as expected. It was concluded that the authentic assessment text review instrument developed was effectively used in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Analyze the level of effectiveness of Macromedia Flash-assisted interactive learning media in story text learning that will be developed at SD60606 Public Elementary School Medan Perjuangan. (2) Analyzing how the level of interactive learning media assisted by Macromedia Flash on story text learning will be developed in SD60606 Public Elementary School Medan Perjuangan. This study uses the Borg & Gall development research. Based on the analysis of Macromedia Flash assisted learning media products from the experts, it was declared very effective and feasible to use with criteria of the validity of the material experts 85.42%, the design expert 91.00%, and the linguist 85.00%. Based on the completeness data of student learning outcomes before using interactive learning media assisted by Macromedia Flash obtained an average value of 62 while using a large scale completeness reached an average of 90 with a gain score of 0.74 into the high category. And the student questionnaire responses to the effectiveness of Macromedia Flash-assisted interactive learning media reached 90% of 30 students. Based on this data Macromedia Flash-assisted interactive learning media are said to be effectively used in learning with the assumption that students' understanding of story text is higher when using Macromedia Flash-assisted interactive learning media.
